Welcome Back "Drone Captain"! Hope All had a Nice Holiday(s). Work seems to be ongoing here at Sanford Dam still. Slowly putting pieces together now. Not sure how water got into area in front of temp road. Ariel doesn't show any openings. Winter conditions will dictate any physical work for a couple of months, at least. Money must still be flowing into the Project (Sanford Dam)! Thanks for the Ariel Update!
Would’ve been back sooner, but the drone was in the shop for a couple of weeks after an unfortunate branch strike while playing at home.. Put too much faith in its obstacle avoidance in combination with its subject tracking… My gut told me not to trust it, but, wanted to give it a shot before my coverage through DJI expired.
That temporary road is just gravel, and gravel doesn't make a water tight seal. As soon as they pulled the sheet piles out, water came seeping back in.
I guess too, though, by dumping all that rock in front of dam area, there was not a need to access that part in front. That Spring melt off last year got pretty high up the embankment, so will be curious if temp road gets "breached" due to high river flow.
@@thomasbell9277 I believe they have pumps because even with the sheet pilings there was water seepage as you can see on the upstream side that still has the piling installed. I noticed the water too and expect it was due to removal of the pumps and discharge tubing as they prepared for downstream wall removal and placement of the rocks.
Great update which is a norm for you. Sorry to hear about your drone accident. Does anyone know why the long road parallel with the dam? Is this going to be a permanent break wall to funnel any emergency flow directly to the emergency gate?
Great drone footage and amazing aerial view. 👍👍👍Thanks for sharing. Subbed and Liked.👍👍👍
thanks for update. very well done. i liked the fly over bridge start.
Perfect job glad someone is updating us
Awesome footage as usual. Thanks!

Thot I saw water over the rocks before they started pulln'. Not why they started pulln' now, though, if that's the case.

@@jjk907 I believe they will be putting cofferdam over there to help build the emergency spillway
@jjk907 Yeh, I was curious with the work being done there as well. Figured some kind of backup emergency wall. Lot of pieces to the puzzle!
