White Whorl is the most badass setup for a quickening, I loved this game I played it well over1000 hours, thanks for posting and showcasing the clarity of the sound effects
One thing I particularly don’t like with the Quickenings is somehow every character has Final/3rd Qucikening that has different theme from the previous ones. Vaan’s 1st and 2nd Quickenings have “Spiral” theme, but the 3rd one became “Fire” Ashe’s 1st and 2nd Quickenings have “Holy” theme, but the 3rd one became “Lightning” Basch’s 1st and 2nd Quickenings have “Darkness” theme, but the 3rd one became “Fire” Fran’s 1st and 2nd Quickenings have “Punch/kick” theme, but the 3rd one became “Ice/Blizzard” Penelo’s 1st and 2nd Quickenings have “Soul/Missile” theme, but the 3rd one became “Snow/Blizzard” Balthier’s 1st and 2nd Quickenings have “Elemental” theme (the first one is fire and the second one is water), but the 3rd one became “Meteor” (Indeed the name of his final quickening has “Elemental” on it, but ironically Meteor usually considered as non-elemental magic in Final Fantasy series) I know It’s just me being nitpicky :’) but I do really wish they have consistent theme for every character...
That was likely to make sure no one character would be complete crap with Quickenings during a fight where the boss had certain Resistances. Not having at least 1 quickening for a character can be a pain
@@FlaWLessMinigun But as far as I know (from Final Fantasy Wiki), every Quickening is non-elemental (even the Concurrences).. meaning every element that appeared in the quickenings is purely just for the looks and has no effect with enemy resistances.. I could be wrong tho
@@specterbektormektor8615 would you kindly tell me what the reason is? Actually I'm not very good at english so maybe I'm missing or misinterpreting something.. is it because of meteor magic is betraying the elemental theme so there's ''treachery'' word on it's name or is it something else?
I always wondered what was the lore justification of those techniques - do those powers involve usage of mist? And if so, how does it work. Sadly game does not provide any explanation.
Yeah the game was not very keen on expanding the lore on game mechanics. The tutorial even blatantly explains everything via Basch, but he keeps explaining it in game mechanic terms rather then explaining it in lore versions. From what I gathered though, I assume its just that people can store magical energy by how much they have exposed themselves to mist, essentially storing this "MP" while not using it for regular spells or techniques, so that they can unleash it as huge attacks like these when they get enough MP to do so. (But of course the game itself cares little for that, as save crystals just fully restore mist charges, imagine all other final fantasy's restoring your Limit/Overdrive when hitting a save point, you would be unstoppable)
Not only that but how do the characters know how to do these exact skills? Do they just imagine what they want to do, letting the mist bend to their intention? Is the mist responsible for making a pocket world so they don't destroy everything?
Beautiful. But i get why it doesn’t feel that offensive: there are no “hurting” visual effect or damage indication on the foes. That’s why all impacts feel so dry. Nice design though.
Just noticed the remastered version has some audio syncing issues compared to the original version. I noticed this specially on Penelo's Resplendence (notice the sound when the ice shatters here and on the original, it seems to play a bit prematurely here and then you can notice how there's an ongoing "near shatter" sound effect that is cut off because the cutscene ends). There's also possibly a typo (either here or on the original) regarding ashe's lvl1 quickening: in the original it's called "Northswain's glow" and on the remastered version it's called "Nordswain's Glow".
MIST WALKER: I've been trying to get this trophy for 4 hours, I've tried many videos on UA-cam and forums, but everywhere they said the same thing. Now I finally got my trophy and it was my own way scoring in a notebook every quickening I did, the quick level and the amount I made of each one by trial .. After doing the perfect BLACKHOLE DAMN once and another imperfect one, I was very frustrated by the fact that the trophy did not appear .. Soon after some attempts the trophy appeared What did I do to appear ??? Quickening Lv Lv1: 8 Lv2: 1 Lv3: 2 I did not understand why it came that way, without even reaching BLACKHOLE. But it was a surprise !! after hours of trying! what a relief. :) That was a FACT, with all my sincerity. Thanks for reading and good luck !!
I'm not sure what I just read, but breaking it down: there's 8 occurrences, black hole being the hardest to get, you rely purely on luck and should always get the mist charges and avoid re-rolls (unless no option). Get a battle spot near a crystal to replenish charges. Got my mist walker after 15/20m brute forcing combinations. Never used quickenings a single time during actual gameplay (or summons).
I took quite a few tries to get Black Hole but I did thanks to Balthier, Ashe, and Vaan! And got the trophy to boot on my PS4! 😆 And now whenever I see Vaan's Quickenings I cannot help but think of him using Pyroclasm in Dissidia NT cutscene, missing Kefka by a inch, and Tidus quite literally Blitzballing it back at him! Kefka wasn't expecting that teamwork! 😅
One time i was frustrated with fighting that Big Chicken hunt in Giza Plains early game, i took Basch Quickening and managed to do a 5-chain combo ended with an Inferno on that freaking chicken it dealt 8635 damage, instantly sending it into the shadow realm 😂

White Whorl and Flame Purge are my favorites
Van was a horrible main but man did his specials kick!! When he used white whirl you felt it
Nah Basch's Flame Purge is the best one of them all honestly.
@@uberfiend2544 he is not horrible

I couldn’t get enough of quickenings. Good times.
yours was the best video with of quickenings i can find mate, cheers
How? He doesn't even explain anything.
I hate this stupid trophy
@@atmosk9991 This is not a video on how to get trophies. We're just here to rewatch the quickenings.

Having 12 consecutive reality warping quickening and closed with Whiteout
Game: Best I can do is 9k of damage
Naw you have to get up to about 15 or 20 to do serious damage
... Ffff made me laugh
I like how in dissidia gabranth does basch’s quickening stuff
Like brother, like quickening.
They are twin brothers, it's shame that Reks died too early and we never know his quickening

Lol! Nice one!
after all these years i finally saw all the fusions sadly never got the thunder wind & black hole
The trophy I was never able to achieve

So Darkja is essentially just Zodiark being able to spam Black Holes on demand, right?
Fran 3rd quickening is just a freaking blizzardga

I wonder what the design budget was for these... would have taken a fair bit of effort to do at the time I'd imagine.
As a kid i spammed these so much because they really impressed me
3:35 You got the character name wrong on this timestamp. Anyways this one is the best out of all of them.
White whorl is easily the best looking one change my mind so badass

In the version I played they weren't called quickenings though. Best game I ever played.
Yeah, and what version was that? a different language?
@@intensellylit4100 correcting what I said, I was just confused it was just quickenings haha.
This makes the think that the ff12 cast has the most powerful attacks in the franchise. Apart from magicks.
Gamewise they're basically demi gods story wise on the other hand they're kind of lame.
The strongests from the whole franchise are on ff7 tho, the director even said it, from ff7 onwards everyone is weaker
where you the quckineings at
FF12 has the best characters... 👍
Ashe quicks :3
xCroftAmbition yeah they’re my favorite too ngl 🙈 but Balthier has the coolest
Does anyone has a savefile with this trophy unlocked please?
K'mon man, not even the hardest cheevo in the game.
