I'm installing a 20' flag pole next week, and your method with the Quikrete made me feel waaay better about the entire process. Thank you
Send a pic of it installed. Glad to have helped ;)
Ben, you're right about water. In 24 hours, Quicrete will absorb enough ground water and harden. I've built corner posts like that successfully for years. Thanks for the tip to other viewers. A carpenter's plumb bob will help level it.
It always works well for me. If there is a drought it probably wouldn't but this was not the case.
GOOD JOB BEN...SIMPLE AND EXACT..
Thank you.
I'm very glad to see you did the concrete this way. This is how my dad taught me, and after ordering my flagpole today, I was thinking this is the way I'd do it. Yours is the only video I saw like that. I'm getting a 20' pole, so if it's holding fine with your 25' one I think mine will be ok! I'm all for doing things the easier way, and in this case, the cleaner way.
Oh yeah you will be fine. As the moisture comes in from the ground it works great. I haven't had one ounce of problems putting concrete in this way. Enjoy your flag pole.
Nice simple and Plenty strong for it's intention.
Indeed, simplicity and strength can often go hand in hand. It's great to hear that you find the design suitable for its purpose. Sometimes, the best solutions are the straightforward ones. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! 🚩💪😊
Keep it simple. Great demo.
Thanks!
There's an easy way to make sure you're pole is level and plumb. You can buy an inexpensive piece of PVC that's a few feet long and fits snugly into the flag base pipe and insert it into your pipe for the flag pole. This will allow you to get a secure level and then you can just slide the pipe out of the base pipe the next day. It is much easier to get a true level and maintain it when you have a long pole sticking up from the ground as opposed to a pipe with only an inch or two sticking above ground. Good luck.
What size of PVC Pipe would work ? That is a Great Idea .
Great tip! Using a longer PVC pipe to ensure a level and plumb installation is a smart workaround. Thanks for sharing this practical advice with us. Happy flag flying! 🚩😊👍

Thank you. 🙏👍
How is your flagpole holding up? I'm installing a 15 foot pole today.
Yep sure is. Fantastic place.
This works great
Thanks. I will use your method. Easy and simple.
You're very welcome! I'm glad you found the method easy and practical. If you ever have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask. Wishing you a smooth flagpole installation process! 🚩🛠️😊
Goodness, I checked out the website and a 25' silver pole and pole light came to $638.
It is expensive but they last along time. You get what you pay for.
I can’t tell if your pole has some wiggle room, if so, is that normal, or should the pole be snug in the ground sleeve ?
There is a little wiggle room.
Titan flagpoles come with a red cap to plug the top end so concrete accidentally spills in during the process. No reason not to use it.
You're absolutely right! The red cap provided with Titan flagpoles is a handy addition to prevent any concrete mishaps during installation. Safety first, right? Thanks for pointing out this important detail for a smooth installation process. 🚩🔴👍
There is no way the water mixed in with all that dry concrete. I poured concrete for 18 years and you ALWAYS mix it with water before dumping it in a hole!
You should try it sometime. I do it all the time and stuff sets up just fine.
@@benplikerdsminute i agree, if you leave a bag of concrete outside it will harden in the bag so no reason it will not in the ground.
How do you lock it so someone doesn't pull it out of sleeve and steal pole
Unfortunately you cannot lock it. Anyone could steal it. :(
I found a lock for it it looks like a metal clamp and goes around plastic insert in ground ,it tightens pole to insert and no one can pull the flagpole out of ground.
@@benplikerdsminute I found the locking system for it on line works great looks like a metal hose clamp
