Thanks for your question. No, E85 will not hurt your fuel system. Most modern cars fuel lines have been ethanol compatible for a while now since it is blended into regular fuel in many places across the country. Thanks for watching and Stay Tuned!
This is just going to take some time because of the testing that each kit has to go through. Hopefully at some point all of the cars that previously had Flex Fuel capability will have it again. Thanks for watching and Stay Tuned!
Thanks for your question. Yes, you do need to upgrade your fuel pump and fuel injectors to run the Flex Fuel package. I'd recommend taking a look at the parts that are in the complete kit as that will show you everything that you need: www.flatironstuning.com/sub004ng2s1ff Hope that helps and Stay Tuned!
Thanks for your question. With this installed and tuned, you can mix any combination of regular pump gas and E85. So if you have to fuel up and E85 isn't available, you can just put in regular 91 or higher octane, and the car will adapt to the change in ethanol content. Hope that helps and Stay Tuned!
I think that long term they do want to figure this out for the GD cars. The CAN Bus is what has made this possible for the current kits, and since most of the GD's don't have that, it is likely going to be more challenging to find a solution on that platform. Thanks for watching and Stay Tuned!
My Subaru as an ethanol junkie. If it wasn’t so good for it I’d say there was a problem. But the torque man on ethanol is amazing. Don’t understand they just don’t turbo every car and run it on high ethanol blends from factory.
Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment. Yep, our cars definitely love E85 for sure. It is a bummer that it is getting harder to find these days. Stay Tuned!
@@alexudolkin2146 You are correct in the similarity of the 08-14 WRX and STI. I miss-read the fitment, and currently only the 2015-21 STI is supported. But the 08-14 STI is next on the list. It should be coming out soon!
Thanks for your question. This new system plugs into and works with the TGV wiring. Because of that you would need to have the TGV motors and sensors in place for the wiring to work. Hope that helps and Stay Tuned!
So what happens to us guys and girls that do not live in california and have removed our tvg and other items Cobb has turned their back on us now we have to look for other options
So on the Cobb website they are selling a lot more pieces as a package deal for the nex-gen system. So we would need a lot more pieces, like injectors, fuel pump, etc in order for this to work properly? Us STIs that have none of the old flex system seem like we have to pay a lot of money for this setup. The amount of their package is around $3k to $4k for everything! Thoughts?
That is the complete kit for their NexGen Stage 2 kit: www.flatironstuning.com/cobb-nexgen-stage-2-power-package-15-18-sti This would be for a stock car that has not modifications to go up to this NexGen Stage 2. As to whether it is worth it, I'd say that would largely come down to your goals long term. Many, if not most of these parts will be needed building blocks to get to this point, and then beyond. I hope that helps, and if you have any other questions, open a Live Chat with us on our site and we'll do our best to help. Thanks for watching and Stay Tuned!
They need to release this for the wrx asap!
I think that it will happen soon. They know how many WRX drivers need/want this.

Will ethanol / e85 / flexfuel hurt my fueling system (melt plastic or fuel lines) on my BRZ?
Thanks for your question. No, E85 will not hurt your fuel system. Most modern cars fuel lines have been ethanol compatible for a while now since it is blended into regular fuel in many places across the country.

It’s a shame the gd platform isn’t getting any love with this update.

hopefully it’ll come eventually. i just bought an 07 STI
It’s extra money but an aftermarket ECU is the way and well worth it

Colorado has emissions testing, so you wouldn’t pass if you have a flex fuel map loaded on your ecu? even with tgvs, cats, secondary air pump etc..

anyone know if they intend to support the GD ?

Waiting for the 2021 WRX!! Felt horrible after I got my car.
Thanks for watching. I know that it is on the top of Cobb's list to get this done.

@@FlatironsTuning if the 08+ STI is supported wouldn’t the 08-14 wrx use the same connectors and such?

If you intend to run e85 and make power you will unfortunately need much much bigger injectors.
Please test Fueltech
EFlexFuel from Finland is an alternative
Very unfortunate this will NOT be legal in California, but every other 49 states it will. SMDH
