  • In this video I talk about how to avoid common job-based immigration scams and illegal activity when it comes to LMIA based job fraud, specifically regarding immigration consultants and foreign recruiters. This video is designed for overseas workers aspiring to come to Canada. If you're overseas and looking to immigrate to Canada by obtaining an LMIA-supported job offer, it's important to know your rights and what to watch out for.
This video dives into how this form of LMIA based job fraud is committed, what to watch out for and how to identify it, and helping you become aware of your rights as an aspiring newcomer in Canada.
Remember: It's illegal to pay for a job or for anyone to offer you a job requiring payment, even if they are a recruiter or licensed consultant.
At the end of the video I talk about ways you can prevent this fraud from occurring in the future and offer my second opinion free service if you have a questionable service agreement and require a professional opinion.

Glad this video popped on my YT feed.
I am a RCIC myself and I find it a really big grey area where a lot of RCICs push to get paid for very expensive amounts for "WP process" while we all know what this cost is for.
There is a lot of very famous companies who recruit people from abroad (especially in hospitality and food services) acting as recruiters but they are also consultant and charge high fees up front.
As a new RCIC I was approached by a colleague selling an LMIA for CAD 50K - unbelievable!

Thank you for commenting Mohammed, and for watching. It truly needs to be discussed more and there needs to be more done to prevent this from happening. I don't feel like there is enough enforcement and awareness. Even expiring PGWP applicants in Canada, with the only option to extend with LMIA, and employers forcing them to go through their own consultants. It's really bad for our profession and our country.
