Yes, in England, Jeremiah could've walked around normally in 1919. Most the world was alot more civilized than the states back then, and a big part of the beginnings of the civil rights movement was because black veterans saw how life could be for them when they went to England to fight in ww2 Alot of places American soldiers were stationed at had some pretty big incidents because the locals wouldn't allow the white Americans to mistreat the black soldiers.
I mean legally black people were free to live as they please in England back then, but he wouldn’t have lived in an all white neighbourhood realistically.

It featured a star studded cast (google it and you will understand) and is my fav sci fi movies because of its provoking exploration on the nature of humanity. Linkin Park's "Leave it All Behind" MV featured the actual sets of the movie even though the song has nothing to do with the movie. The movie resonated with them so much that they decided to borrow the sets from the movie for their song. The song is fittingly as poignant as the movie.

Most of the locations don't need any set decoration, however *Dalton Mills* is one location had some Black coloured prison cells made out of a polystyrene type material which seemed to be permanent, along with some other props mainly painted Gold which I'm fairly sure were used in other productions. *Mr Zhang's Tailors and Brothel* in *Peaky Blinders* was one of the sets, and possibly some other stuff like *Sabini's* boxing ring location. Other productions I'm pretty certain used some of the same stuff from *Peaky Blinders* in *Dalton Mills* include: *The Confessions of Frannie Langton* (2022), *Gunpowder* (2017), and *The Limehouse Golem* (2016). Those sets and props were most likely destroyed in 2022, as a second major building was burnt down by arsonists, and was apparently the building where the filming was done. In 2011 the building next to it was destroyed by arsonists, plus in 2024 arsonists tried to set another of its buildings on fire twice in just 2 days.

Peaky Blinders was a gang in Birmingham, England at the turn of the 20th century. They carried razors in the peak of their caps and would blind enemies with the razors. Very loosely based on them, and vastly exaggerated. And the seasons are only 6 episodes long, so they're pretty condensed with information and plot twists. Enjoy!!

The UK never had segregation / Jim Crow; my grandfather from Jamaica married my English grandma in 1947. You should check out the Heroes Among Us video about Bamber Bridge to see what happened when the US military tried to introduce segregation while stationed in England

They were extensions of the police in ireland and were involved with British intelligence against the ira (the irish republican army) and their methods were incredibly questionable and the repercussions are still felt today. Great video guys, and you’re pretty good at understanding the characters already 🤜🏻 I’m from Birmingham, and love what this series has done for our city… probably similar for Philly with the Rocky films. People would ridicule our accents and say that we come across as slow/ thick, but now I can speak to people who have seen the series, even in different countries and our accent / city is thought of as cool. And to top it all off, it’s an absolutely fantastic series. Enjoy guys ✊🏻

Don’t give me wrong there are a lot of superstitions depicted in the show from many characters, but not moving contraband on a full moon was not because of superstition. During a full moon, it is brighter and it is easier to be caught moving illegal stuff so they want to move when it’s darker outside at night.
Loved your reaction to the Danny Whiz-Bang scene. I think that "mutual sympathies" is the overarching theme of this show. Even more than the story of the family (and the highly likeable characters) is the story of the time and how it plays out through their activities. There are very few show that can accomplish this, and this is one of the best.

Great video guys, and you’re pretty good at understanding the characters already 🤜🏻 I’m from Birmingham, and love what this series has done for our city… probably similar for Philly with the Rocky films. People would ridicule our accents and say that we come across as slow/ thick, but now I can speak to people who have seen the series, even in different countries and our accent / city is thought of as cool.
And to top it all off, it’s an absolutely fantastic series. Enjoy guys ✊🏻

Enjoy it! One of the best TV shoes ever created. And surely one of the best lead characters ever created in Tommy Shelby. Incredible writing, there isn’t a wasted scene throughout the entire series, each season is quite short with a lot packed in each episode. Every scene is meaningful.

Don’t give me wrong there are a lot of superstitions depicted in the show from many characters, but not moving contraband on a full moon was not because of superstition. During a full moon, it is brighter and it is easier to be caught moving illegal stuff so they want to move when it’s darker outside at night.
Loved your reaction to the Danny Whiz-Bang scene. I think that "mutual sympathies" is the overarching theme of this show. Even more than the story of the family (and the highly likeable characters) is the story of the time and how it plays out through their activities. There are very few show that can accomplish this, and this is one of the best.
