A little women’s history: You had to prove you were married to get any type of birth control. What you got was expensive and not very reliable. You weren’t allowed to work if you were married with children. You definitely weren’t allowed to work a legitimate job unmarried with children. So, having a baby without being married was basically a one way ticket to being a prostitute/thrown out of town. No one will rent you an apartment as an unmarried woman with a child. If you were unmarried and wanted an apartment, you needed your father/brother to sign the lease. Tommy may be “that guy” in this town.. but he’s still a pretty small time gangster. Also, look into the Romani people and their beliefs, it helps to understand Tommy’s culture... very superstitious.
Tommy is smoking opium. At that time in history, opium was a big deal. The Chinese had opium dens everywhere. Opium is featured in a lot of movies, Johnny Depp in From Hell, Tombstone, and Alice In Wonderland.
Just to remind you Addison, there are a lot of old British slang that obviously you two wouldn’t know but 1. Irish travellers and Romanis are both considered gypsies and they intermarry a lot but they aren’t the same type of peoples and don’t mind being called gypsies. 2. Problem is that Freddie is way more fixated for communist revolution (that's just not gonna work out) which will be violent than leaving that for being with Ada and the baby without the hazzle. That's why Tommy said that Freddie is more intrested in machine gun's and rifles, he knows the guy. Tommy does not want his sister and a baby caught up into that mess. Like sure the family itself does what they do, but they do it to get ahead and not for an ideology. Also they do not put Ada into like hard spots if she does not want to be involved and even then it would be a discussion. That's why she is chilling. Fighting for communism at that time with trying to get guns for it is a Really hard spot and just trouble without no prediction of what's next or really even winning to it (like one ideology was just handled with the war so this popping up won't obviously be handled soft by the goverment). So obviously Tommy does not want Ada to be involved.. especially pregnant. Freddie is important for Tommy, but he does not like what he beleaves in and how he moves. The dude is like a head of a sect of commies in Birghimham with approaching it with the war mindset. Like Tommy does with their Business, so there is history and a lot of same in them, but Tommy just does not see future in what Freddie does and frankly all of it as no sense dangerous.

Frustrating… because this channel has a lot of potential… by all means talk about the episode but don’t talk over half the scene! Ugh! 🤦♀️
gypsy isnt a bad word, my family are gypsies
Love this. MORE OF YOUR COUSIN. SHES HILARIOUS!!! Cillian is that guy. Guess we going to the races. Lol😂
The sad song Grace sings is Black Velvet Band, an extremely famous Irish ballad that the musically educated people of the world know, FUCK spotify!!!!!!!
It's razor blades in the peak of the cap, hence the name of the gang is called Peaky Blinders 😉
imma need these episodes expeditiously
14:34 Thirst Level 😂😂😂😂😂
Your sound cues are always perfect ahaha always on time and not too intrusive! Incredible edit that makes it even more enjoyable guys keep it up!
Can't wait for the next one
They had blades in hat ,
Blades in the end of their suits so if anyone catch them by collar it’ll be 🩸

Gypsies don't mind being called gypsies really traveller is more nice though lol
carianna is so me squealing over mr tommy shelby
Hey cuzzin an hey sis Cari ❤❤❤
razor blade in hats = peaky blinders
You don't parlay on the backfoot I basically Tommy saying you don't go to a meeting when you're at a disadvantage.
Does she do that click or is that a sound he puts in post?
Blades in your flat cap were real.
30:50 This show, man
2:29 she believes in her man already
"Peaky" because of the blades in the peak of their caps that they blind (blinders) people with
In WW1, 1/4 of the UK population served in the war. So if you were a younger man and didn't serve everyone either looked down on you or saw you as a coward
Yo Carriana to avoid the word you cant use cuz UA-cam. They are Romani.
Or Travellers is acceptable too 😊
@@angelalurtz3638 fair enough. Just in various books I've read Romani seem to be the commonly used term.
@@terryjohnson5579 I have heard that too. However, and I'm no expert so maybe someone else could verify or correct me, but I believe the Romani and the Travellers are two separate cultures, with the Romani originating from India and the Travellers originating in Ireland. But again, I don't know if my understanding of this is 100% accurate
@@angelalurtz3638 that would make sense based on what I understand of history. Either way as long as it's in a historic or educational context I'd just say the words. Maybe not gypsy cuz that's been used for hate but like Nazi and whatnot.
29:05😂😂
nah, the lack of empathy for Ada's situation is crazy. lost respect for this channel.
23:17 on point.
9:06 You trying to mock the way somebody sounds is hilarious
The disrespect is insane
Ireland 💚💪💪
Ya make me laugh on episode☺
" I don't get why they gotta say all this" why are you even watching this show? Like wtf are you even doing here if you can't handle a show being a big dramatic like I do not understand why you'd say that to a fucking tv show
Guys it's 1919....there was no protection, women did not know anything about pregnancy etc
Women definitely knew that sex could lead to pregnancy so I’m not sure why she was surprised when it happened.
@@gwenjackson8583 girl that is not what I said...in 1919 protection like condoms, pills were something almost unheard! Regular people, especially working class, would have had no idea about no damn protection. People weren’t educated! People didn't know shit about pregnancy, the risks of drinking and smoking while pregnant, etc! Like ofc they know that sex can lead to pregnancy but that is not what I was talking about.
SUPACell?
I guess we're all thirsty then Addison 😅
Their actor choice for Churchill was a mistake for sure. Thankfully he isn't around much.
Tweeky Blinders took me out 😂
Still waiting for the next reaction guys cmon
Too much talking you guys!
"I like Tommy always knowing when to speak" ---- and someone in the reaction doesn't
Bro you should watch kalki

Tommy smokes opium it’s the same thing as heroin or perks it’s all in the opioid family
Why is she talking about how much she likes Tommy and has a crush on him? I couldn’t care less if it’s “just a movie” it’s still another guy while she’s sat right next to her man 🤣 can’t stand that shi
Early gang
Fast women and slow horses will ruine your life! 😅
Please stop saying 'switchblade"!!! A switchblade knife does absolutely in no way whatsoever resemble razor blades sewn into a hat!!! The actor Ada mentions is the EXTREMELY famous Rudolph Valentino!!!!!!!
Sorry for being rude but do you have a small left arm
