That tip at the end on how to apply a LUT is great. I thought you'd always have to go through an adjustment layer. This will save me quite some time in the future. Thanks Teppo.
yeah, the dji mic 2’s also come in a set of 1 mic/transmitter and one receiver, which is perfect for solo creators at a more affordable price :) I did find the audio of the Mic 2 to be *very* muffled/lacking in the higher frequencies when wearing it on my chest though, with my slightly «bassy» voice I had to EQ-boost *a lot* in the upper frequencies in post to make my voice sound close to normal, and made a couple of videos about it as well. Unfortunately the single mic option (99 usd) from DJi with just the mic, connecting to the phone without the receiver but via bluetooth is close to unusable since it’s low quality bluetooth audio, not the higher quality codec being used on iphones. And you can’t turn on 32bit float without the receiver *or* disable the low cut/highpass filter which is in by default, so unfortunately the 99 usd mic only is really not a good option.
HI, as a professional and expert in your field, I would like to ask for your advice. It is well-known that the cinematic frame rate is 24 fps, but on the iPhone by default, 24 and 25 fps are practically unusable. It feels like it drops frames, and stabilization doesn’t work. At least, that’s my experience with my iPhone 16 Pro. Could you please tell me if I can shoot everything at 60 fps and then export it in a editing program at 24 (or 25) fps? Does the bitrate decrease when you increase the number of frames per second, as is often the case with cameras? Please advise me; I have been looking for information for several days and cannot find a specific answer to my question.
Good video on a basic setup Teppo :) But, I gotta say, a 400 usd wireless mic investment is not what I would call a «bare bones» setup ;) Something like the Røde Videomic Go 2 that retails for 99 USD, although wired and not wireless, would cover most needs for vloggers getting started holding their phone at an arms length on a small handheld tripod like the Pixi, or having the tripod on a table and some boxes for talking head footage at approx an arms length away filming with the 1x or 0.5x lens. I’ve been using that setup for most of my videos now for a couple of months and it’s been working well together with my DIY Keylight and all around janky selfmade setup in general ;) Also, just wanted to say a big *thank you* for all the videos and inspiration from all the way back when you where working with your brother trough to you going «solo», it’s been very fun to watch you grow your channel, and it even inspired me to get my own channel going, currently on my second month of consistently doing a video each week, slowly growing week by week seeing the numbers increase for each video, so much fun doing vids, so thank you for being an inspiration :)
@@TeppoHaapoja Thanks man :) It took a while but now the train has finally left the station ;) So … when can we expect another epic meetup between you, mr. lindgren and thaticelandicdude ;)
Great vid! I’ve found that recording in ProRes on the iPhone caused me endless issues with editing due to not using a Mac. So use that with caution if you are not fully into the Mac eco system
Is it worth even trying to vlog with a shotgun mic ? I guess the main issue is being behind the camera and wanting to talk and pickup voice from behind
When you are recording ProRes on your iPhone, are going into a SSD? I find that to be so much more efficient than trying to record ProRes directly into my iphone and exporting it, the file sizes are massive.
Is that a new Manfrotto Pixi tripod? The legs are different and there seems to be a new cutout for tiliting the ballhead over to one side. It's not listed on their website currently.
@@TeppoHaapoja hehe i didnt want to say it 😊. on using your back camera for vlogging. i saw a little screen you can add to your iphone 15 pro max so you can see what your camera is looking at because obviously you cant see it. maybe a tip. DJI gimbal is a nice thing to have to keep camera stable.

Your welcome!!!
Final Cut Pro FTW! Some excellent advice here! May can’t come soon enough
Final Cut Pro is solid! Serge are you planning on joining Creator Autonomy?
Haven't been able to give a try to the Røde mics, but for me the DJI Mic set has worked really well and they only cost around $250
Its a great option for sure!

Can you use a regular iPhone 15?
Do you have the kinks for the ND Filter and the cool mount you have?:)
Do you recommend a camera or iPhone for beginner travelling?

You have provided so much good and useful in a relatively short video. Thank you so much! Subbed. ✌🏻
Thanks man, glad to have you here!
Teppo what app do you use for changing your shutter speed? Im using moment just wondered which you preferred.
Blackmagic App I found is useful
What a badass video! Content is on point, thanks man!
This was a great video
Thanks!
The light chaser looks awesome! Sooooo many times I've gotten that "yes this is the one" video only to realize I didn't push the record button.. smh
Thanks Teppo Image Capture is game changing!!
Haha its so simple yet so good ;)
Great vid.
Thanks!
just curious but i thought the new dji mics could be wireless to the phone? or is that another company I'm thinking about
This could be very true!
Bought the DJI mics recently and they connect wirelessly to the charge port of the phone

I was using an SSD if Im filming 4K 60fps pro res
@@TeppoHaapojahi, how do you fix the SSD on this set up? (With the mic lav?
Thanks Teppo! This is great.
Joel, miss you bro! I heard you moved to tbay?

Yeah I think its a bit newer model as I have two different kinds
Missing the SSD in that setup though :)
Man I wish that peak design grip worked without their proprietary case
True!

Thanks for the tips . I wasn’t planning on showing my face but I it’s difficult for people to connect with a photo. You gave me a place to start .
Agreed!
"Not gonna break the bank" 🤣
I guess it depends whos bank account 😂
Nice video 💗🌷
Thanks, glad it helped!
Mirroring your screen to a macbook was nice tip
🙌🙌🙌
What if you want to film ProRes?
Then just strap on a SSD drive :)
or have a really big internal storage
With that price, you find a beginner camera, with a lense!
why is you from eu ?
Im based in Finland 🙌
Wallah is unintentional
Why is your audio is hard to hear
Its not
why you wear a hat indoors ?
Haha so I dont have to do my hair 😂

why are you wearing a cap INSIDE THE HOUSE?
I really wish he would reply to this 😩
I kept thinking that too 😅
Because he is lazy with his hair? Because he is bald? Because he wants to differentiate from other Talking Heads UA-cam channels?
Because he can
I wear my cap in my house in the middle of the night for no reason
LOL unless you are wearing lipstick, I really think your color is way off

What camera set up are you using for his video please?
Sony A7SIII + 16-35

Canon r8 = crappy footage, I will choose my RED Monstro 8k anytime of the day.
See how idiotic you sound?
You just said a whole lot of nothing cause of course a dedicated camera beats a iPhone smh
Uff, i cringed at this.
Not everyone can afford that though
What if you use adobe premier pro?
