This was such a nice comment. Thanks so much for that. I love that there are people out there who recognize the dedication that goes into it. Thank you
The way you share all your thoughts to make us understand how would anyone of both could apply to our daily usage, it’s amazing. I never write comments, but you deserve it.
Action mode in iPhone forces the ultrawide angle lens and then further crops it to bring it close to the main lens. Quality degradation is obvious with that much crop value.
By the way, you can adjust your exposure in the default iPhone camera app by tapping on the screen and then swiping up or down to adjust it. It doesn't allow very fine control, but it is possible.
22:13 yes but why is that? Log is not enough to get high DR. You also need higher bitrate which obviously means you’ll have bigger file. But that just the nature of things. Even on the iPhone with the BMC app (with which you can now as of 27 October 2024, you can select the bitrate for bot H.264 and H.265 codec) using a 18 Mbps or 54 Mbps H.265 in Apple Log colour space will not give you the same latitude in post for color grading.
It takes a lot for me to get hooked and watch a YT video on an early Sunday morning here in Sydney. This comparison video and the overall quality was worth my time. And all the more I feel great that I own a Osmo Pocket 3. Thank you very much and this brilliant video made me subscribed! All the best! 🎉
What drove me away from the iPhone was the file sizes. Paying 1500 for the high end and only having a couple hours of recording in log is a deal breaker. Was heading towards getting a zv-e1 but I am new and that DJI offers something so similar to the zv-e1 that it's worth the trade offs. Thanks for the video bro!
21:52 you’ll need an external SSD not an external recorder. Yes ProRes give big files, but the issue in the Apple default app is that Apple don’t give you the choice of the different ProRes flavours from smaller file size to bigger one and let you choose by yourself between 422 Proxy, 422 LT, 422 and 422 HQ. Instead Apple only gives the highest quality with the bigger file 422 HQ. It would have also been good if Apple had make it possible to record using H.265 codec and Apple Log. But I guess they still haven’t been able to find an Apple name for that like for instance HEVC Log!
I can see the steps when walking with the iphone. The stabilization is so much better on the osmo pocket 3 it's insane. The motion lapse feature on the osmo pocket 3 creates possibilities that could not be done a mobile phone. The gimbal also allows you to stick the osmo pocket 3 in the best camera positions using velcro or suction cups for things like live performances because the gimbal can be remotely controlled. Look for the camera car videos using the osmo pocket 3, who needs a crane car anymore. The osmo pocket 3 is surprisingly tough as well. I've dropped it shooting ground level from a electric skateboard at 35 mphs, dropped it riding a one wheel at 12 miles an hour. The doctor thought I cracked my ribs on the skateboard drop. The best part, vs every other gimbal I own, is that the case can be slipped on and you can slip it into any pocket. You could have the greatest camera in the universe but if you don't have it with you, whats the point.
24:39 sorry but that definitely not comparable between the DJI Mic 2 and what ever that mic you paired with the iPhone was. It’s pretty bad the sound from that mic on the iPhone! It would have been better to use the same mic on both the DJI Osmo and the iPhone.
Thanks! Awesome video. Two comments on things that people often overlooked on the P3. First, panoramic photos, the P3 takes panoramics via 4 still shots taken as the gimbal head rotates around. This gives you four shots that the camera can stitch together or that you can stitch together afterwards and post for a much higher quality photo. So without a fisheye lens, you go from a 9 megapixel photo to a 36 panoramic megapixel photo. I have placed the P3 on a coffee table and have taken shots of 20 people standing 4 ft away The second thing is the DJI Mic 2. The link button on the Mic 2 functions as a remote control for the P3. Click the link button, and it takes a photo or starts a video. Click it again and it stops a video. I find this invaluable!
Insanely quality and professional overview of these products! Thank you so much. I only have the 13 Pro so I will def be getting this Pocket 3 thanks to this vid!
18:03 what? Larger sensors doesn’t all time mean more dynamic range. Let’s take the Arri Alexa 35, with a so called crop factor S35 sensor. It’s rated 17 stop of DR when the Arri Alexa LF is only rated 14 stop DR, as mentioned by Arri in their docs!
I was finally able to get an OP3 yesterday, not the creator combo as still out of stock… spent the whole day shooting on it and getting to know it. Got some amazing footage, motionlapse at night was beyond impressive. I would have been happy with my iPhone 15 pro as my pocket camera, but 3 things kill it for me… 1) low light performance and the lens flaring being ridiculous, still not even fixed on 16 pro by looks of things, 2) still not enough depth of field (although that’s improved), 3) needing an external hard drive to shoot log as file sizes ridiculous! I think the OP3 resolves these issues by the looks of it so far.
The Negative Crop in action mode is because the 15 pro switches to the Ultrawide Sensor and then crops in, allowing the camera to move more while still keeping the subject in frame. The Resolution drop is the result of the crop in on the Ultrawide.
Hi, I have a question about the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 camera. Why does the file size of a video change during transfers? For example, a video file may show as 500 MB in the Mimo app, increase to 510 MB after being downloaded to a phone, and then decrease to 180 MB when transferred to a computer. Similarly, why does a file that starts at 500 MB decrease to only 100 MB when AirDropped from the Mimo app or a mobile device to a system? What causes these size changes? 🤷🏻♂️🤯
Helpful review, thanks. As to your question (19.58) about why the iPhone goes wider for stabilisation (action mode) I think you answered that yourself - it drops out of 4K meaning the sensor has bags of room for stabilisation, it can still shoot wider and have latitude for stabilisation. Remaining in 4K gives you no sensor oversampling room to stabilise. Perhaps?
You’re on the right track there. Actually it switches to the ultra-wide camera and then crops in on it - that’s why it’s a smaller resolution. But after the crop it still remains a bit wider than the main cameras focal length just because of how wide the ultra wide camera is. Sadly this means the image quality gets way worse, not just because of it not being 4K anymore but more importantly because the sensor of the ultra wide camera is significantly smaller. Another thing that degrades the quality is that the camera has to set the shutter speed very very fast in order to prevent motion blur, which would look terrible when it does the digital stabilization.
Main issue with using iPhone as a film camera, is that it's primarily a Phone that happens to have a camera serving the majority masses that don't utilize any of the actual camera settings, making it more clunky to access certain things. The Osmo 3 was definitely created with ease of use in mind but also makes the actual pro settings easier to access. When having to pull out either to quickly grab a shot of something you see, the Osmo is much more ready to do so.
After a long time I watched a whole video without skipping a single second. On point practical comparison. Not reading spec sheet in the name of product review. I'm convinced I need an OP3 now.😀
Osmo Pocket 3 has outstanding power of filming moments. The iPhone can't focus and constantly loses focus, even in the evening when there still seems to be plenty of light. In addition, the iPhone has an awkward form factor for long horizontal shooting.
Great video! Thank you for all the time and effort you put into it. I'm still on the fence for the Pocket 3 vs iPhone for recording videos of my playing my acoustic guitar and singing.
24:18 why not using the same wireless mic when you could connect the DJI Mic 2 qua Bluetooth to the iPhone and use it in the BMC app for instance. Other big benefits of using the BMC App is the audio is all 32 bits float, which give you a lot of flexibility in post with you audio level which will not clip! And the BMC App is 🆓
Wow! This was a great video to watch. It was a very comprehensive video. It covers everything I should know about the two products. All product comparison videos should be made this way.
I think an important note on price at 5:05 is the fact that barrier to entry for OP3 is the credit check on finance or having to paying 500 at once… with the iPhone, it’s most commonly a network upgrade at a monthly fee the individual is already having to pay… making the iPhone an easy buy, with a better warranty, insurance with AppleCare and everywhere access for accessories and repair centres…. Without having to post it, after a quotation and review and teeth grinding not knowing the final repair bill of success. Imtergrated eco-system of apps and the fact that you may need a phone to get the most out of your op3… When new one comes out… no brainer…. Interestingly…I have an iPhone and use it extensively for content, more than communication . I still want the op3 / op2… this video was very useful to help me determine the specific use cases for both… thanx
True, since 2015 when I bought my first iPhone. I wanted to be a UA-camr, and till today 2024 I am already using an iPhone 15 Pro Max and I am still not shooting any videos. Considering to invest in Osmo Pocket 3 now
You and me bro. I also went ahead and bought other filming gadgets and they are all still boxed up. Imagine my horror when I unboxed my Rode wireless microphone and it was faulty. Got in touch with Rode and was told it was past warranty period.
@ damn, time to do some actions. I started posting recently, not much followers and views yet but I always told myself to create something I would appreciate when I look back from the future
You can record vertical on the OP3 by flipping the screen to get into vertical mode, and then in the quick settings panel switch the mode to landscape. The screen should display recording in 4k, while vertical!
Incredibly well done message, as a musician the Pocket 3 appears best suited to me especially for outdoor available light situations. Thankfully, Stevie Duster Music
I’m impressed with your knowledge and skill as a you tuber, as with others here on YT…videos regarding pocket 3 and comparison vids with similar devices. I’m an old school photographer from Hasselblads to the infancy of 6 pm digital SLR. It’s mind blowing how fast we’re evolving and how beautiful the tools of creativity allow more folks to be creative.
Excellent work, there. I own the Pocket 2, and to me the most important feature was the Pocket’s “fun” factor! For example, I can mount the Pocket 2 on a selfie-stick, connect the wireless transmitter, and get real-time images and video onto my iPhone. When I’m sitting in sports bleachers, I’ll get unobstructed views of everything - without other spectators telling you to sit down - which is soo cool!! 😎 I really can’t think of any other photo platform that is this versatile.
@@thefilmalliance meh … a little “pinch / zoom” on the iPhone screen usually works … The whole idea of the Pocket is its unobtrusive portability. I’ll “deploy” my Sigma 150-600 zoom and tripod up to the “nosebleed” area if I need more closeups. But long-range zooming brings its own set of issues, like obstructed views from people standing up and blocking your view, and “interested onlookers” getting “touchy-feely” with your setup. Trust me; as an avid photographer, the mounted Pocket is about as perfect a solution for stadium photography as one could find.
Impressive video although I'm looking at whether to buy the OSMO or a DSLR. If someone is an Apple fan you can't really beat the iPhone for image quality/ One HUGE advantage of the OSMO is that you can hook up 2 wireless OSMO mics via Bluetooth which in my opinion is under appreciated for convenience and quality.
I have iphone 15 pro max and the for general purpose photos and videos it’s perfect and always have in my pocket to very quickly pull out and take a photo or video and it’s away turned on and instantly ready to use, I have a go pros and insta x3 camera if needed for sports. The phone is great in the fact it has the internet so can run your life very conveniently from anywhere, if you want to not be disturbed on the iPhone it’s very easy to turn on silent mode or airplane Mode so I disagree with this being a problem. Phones are made for pockets, just add a protective lens cover and wipe on soft cloth or clothes and it’s clean in a few seconds, and bought with 4 spares so if it get scratched just swap it out, easy. I think the pocket 3 is also a fantastic and has advantages for vlogging and has a larger sensor so should have better quality than the iPhone and perfect if you r a content creator, have both if you can afford it, simple 😎😎😎 Ps. Enjoyed watching 😁😁😁
I’ve got a IPhone 14 Plus and have kept my vlogging and work video work with an IPhone and gimbal but the ease ability of the Osmo os perfect for myself when I want to shoot some content it’s so easy. I’ll be buying this within the month and cannot wait to use it. Thanks for the content, excellent companions and production
Thank you for that. I had a lot of fun with it. The Osmo pocket three is amazing if you do end up getting one stick around because I’ll be making more videos on that camera.
In your review you talked about HLG. I think you have mistaken HLG for HDR. HDR is High Dynamic Range but HLG is Hybrid Log Gamma and is a type of log colour profile which is easier to colour grade than DLog-M
Yes, HLG is confusing for me, especially when I try to figure out what monitor it will play back on. When I drag HLG clips into my timeline, I have to change the library to wide gamut HDR. Thanks for your expertise and helping me on that.
I’m actually surprised at that more people don’t film or grade to HLG/HDR , if most UA-cam views are on modern phones , laptops, and tablets then they all display in HDR and the colors POP .
@@tayinternational I think the reason is UA-cam itself. It makes it hard to output HDR content difficult, because it doesn't has a fallback, when you watch it in sdr. Linus tech tips made a whole video about it.
@@markussteinbach8842 I can understand that , I will check out Linus tech's video. When I made UA-cam videos only with my iPhone 12 Pro in HDR a couple of years ago, I would get a "mixed bag" of comments some complaints and some that really loved the colors. For the last year I have switch to filming mostly in S-log3 but I'm still developing my grading process . Color grading S-log3 to HDR might be something I try in the future as more displays are becoming HDR capable.
@@markussteinbach8842 This is not correct per this video or Linus'. UA-cam creates a tonemapped SDR version same as it does to create different resolutions. It is not immediate and could take a day or 2 to finish processing. The usual SDR versions are first 1080/1440/4k then the same for the HDR version. Yes it is more work and hassle to make sure you dial in the correct settings and export it correctly for youtube to process it to HDR but to say it doesn't work is incorrect.
As you mentioned a few times in the video, both these devices are very comparable in a lot of matters. But I really like the warm tone of the iPhone over the very cold one of the Osmo. Is that something to do with white balance, or is it something related to the camera itself?
hello, been awhile. you're doing great. keep it up! the negative crop in action mode is because the phone switches to the ultrawide and crops in massively. which is still wider than the main camera.
thanks for the informative video. i have both of them and i think iPhone is much better specially when u use the original camera without using 3rd party app
I have both, if I am in any kinds of motion or need tracking or motion timelapse then pocket 3. If I want to do a static shot while from time to time I need to zoom in then Iphone 15 pro
Wow, this is totally random, but I was looking for a comparison video before I grabbed an OP3 and stumbled upon your video. I IMMEDIATELY recognized Landis Green. GO NOLES! '13 grad CCI grad here and also sit on the board at CCI. Stoked to see FSU filmmakers' content on YT. This brought me back to my days vlogging on Landis. SUBBED! (Oh yeah, probably going to pick an OP3 up now. 😊)
21:52 until this part I was inclined more towards OP3. But then this little detail caught my eye. The iPhone’s picture here is more beautiful and cinematic due to the focus on those little cracks on the old piano. Whereas the picture from OP3 doesn’t show it. Moreover the autofocus skip/jump (or whatever it was) ruined the viewing for me. It was a very good comparison video regardless. Thank you for it!
What a great eye you have. This could be user error. The Osmo Pocket 3 has focus control and I may have not switched it to single focus mode. I'm not sure. Does that change your mind?
@@thefilmalliance I’m an actor and filmmaker myself, and the visual part is of the most importance for me :) But if there’s single focus mode option then it’s definitely a plus for OP3.
Simple way to avoide phone calls 8:55 during video capture, live yt/insta/. Using the shortcuts app, created shortcut.. when ever phone is on video, lock orientation, silent mode, custom focus mode. Did for all camera apps, shortcut for cinematic settings… even Siri commands when iPhone is on tripod….
Awesome video! I just started shooting videos using my iPhone 15 Pro and bought an Insta360 Flow($150) gimbal and a BOYALINK($100) microphone system last week. However, after seeing the Osmo Pocket 3 yesterday, which led me to this video, I want one! But probably not getting one anytime soon, since it is expensive. I think for those people who already have a very good phone, getting a gimbal and a mic system is a better way to get started. Anyway, thank you for the super helpful review!
@@thefilmalliance Thank you for the suggestion, but I am not interested in the old one. I think you can definitely make a video about iPhone 15 Pro with a gimbal vs the Pocket 3. That would be an amazing video to watch.
Its funny, at at the first shot, i leaned towards the left one being the iPhone, as they tend to oversharpen. But i guess, you made sure to get rid of that. And that eans, the OP3 is actually more detailed. But anyways, I knew, i was wrong, when i saw that ROOM 1858 low light shot, because of the overexposure of shadows, that happens by default on smartphones and that cannot be fully fixed in post. And the wide angle shot with just the forrest - without any writings on it - would have been another strong hint towards the iPhone being on the right, because of the issues with highlights, if the dynamic range needs to be bigger. This is something that can only happen with tiny sensors.
for iPhone I have set a camera focus mode to turn on automatically when either the camera app or the Blackmagic app is being used so no calls or notifications will come in
I flew to HK to pickup the Pocket 3 creator combo with ND filter set at DJI/Hasselblad store on release date. Beside from it overheated (auto-shutdown) on the first day of the Takayama festival, a few locked-up that required quick power cycles, it has held up well with even a couple accidental drops on concrete pavement (I bought DJI Care Refresh plan) during my multiple international trips.
Wow you are committed. Great idea on getting the DJI refresh package just in case. I'm surprised it overheated on you. What frame rate and resolution were you shooting in?
@@thefilmalliance I mostly shot at 4K60. I was surprised it overheated too. The Mimo app was showing the image on screen but I wasn't able to record. So I brought the OP3 back down from the extended selfie stick and realized it overheated and stop the device from recording. Had to switch back to my R5 to finish the video handheld which also overheated. Finally, had to pull out my S24 Ultra which was no ideal. That's April in Japan for you.

The Film Alliance, where you go every time you promise your significant other that you’re finished searching for another camera. Then, the cycle begins again. The Pocket 3 is a tempting everyday carry camera.
In introduction, when describing the testing you are going to do 03:48, how are you able to show DJI OP3 while recording from it? Unless you have 2 DJI OP3. It's not that you can't have 2, but just wanted to know!
i think you dont mention the "pros" of the zoom camera on the iphone either for photo or Video. Thats why i also have an estabilizator for my phone, so i can record video with the zoom lens of the iphone. i know i can loose some image quality Vs the main camera but.. is better than crop the image later.
Great comparison. I wish you didn't put the black background with flashing dots on as I find it very distracting from the image quality comparison. Love(d) my Osmo Pocket 1 but now it's jerky and I don't trust it anymore. As I already have the 15 Pro and often take photos as well I guess I won't get the Pocket 3 on top...
Great insight. I really appreciate that realistic review. Didn't seem forced or hyped, just honest. I've purchased the OP3 (I cant wait to get it tomorrow). This video made me feel better about not using a device I have every day vs. an external one.
Great video! I own both devices, plus the hohem m6 gimbal for the iphone pro. But the formfactor and the price of the op3 is unbeatable and filming with it is so much fun !
Which two cameras would you like to see compared next?

It would have been better to use the same mic on both the DJI Osmo and the iPhone.
Thanks! Awesome video.
Two comments on things that people often overlooked on the P3. First, panoramic photos, the P3 takes panoramics via 4 still shots taken as the gimbal head rotates around. This gives you four shots that the camera can stitch together or that you can stitch together afterwards and post for a much higher quality photo. So without a fisheye lens, you go from a 9 megapixel photo to a 36 panoramic megapixel photo. I have placed the P3 on a coffee table and have taken shots of 20 people standing 4 ft away
The second thing is the DJI Mic 2. The link button on the Mic 2 functions as a remote control for the P3. Click the link button, and it takes a photo or starts a video. Click it again and it stops a video. I find this invaluable!
Lastly , the one big thing I would like to see as a firmware change is voice commands. The new 360 X4 has this, love it!
Insanely quality and professional overview of these products! Thank you so much. I only have the 13 Pro so I will def be getting this Pocket 3 thanks to this vid!
Thank you for that awesome feedback
Same, I’ve got a 13 wanted to get the 16 but I’m not really a phone person, so definitely going for the pocket 3
What a fantastic comparison. I liked how easy this was to watch. No unnecessary fast cuts or editing.
Just bought the OP3 after using the OP2 for the past year or so. Love the portability, battery life, stabilization and simplicity of using it.
That’s great. Did you have a hard time getting the Osmo Pocket 3? Was it in stock?
@@thefilmallianceno issues at all, picked it up on Amazon and showed up a week later
Incredible quality video. Not only the detailed information, but everything in the video it's beyond any reviewer or tech channel do. Thanks!
check the pocket 3 user manual, the offcial filter could be keep on it when you want to turn off.
Perhaps?
That is brilliant. Thank you. Up until now I did not think of that. I really appreciate you taking the time to tell me
You’re on the right track there.
One of the best reviews I have ever seen, thanks a lot for it!
I'm convinced I need an OP3 now.😀
Wow thanks for the encouragement. Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome comparison video! Just bought the OP3. Really excited to use this in my studio. Thank you!
That’s great. I hope you find as much value with it as I do
Osmo Pocket 3 has outstanding power of filming moments. The iPhone can't focus and constantly loses focus, even in the evening when there still seems to be plenty of light. In addition, the iPhone has an awkward form factor for long horizontal shooting.
All great points. Yes, I prefer the Did you buy the Osmo Pocket 3
Pocket 3 it is man.. thank u ❤ and I'm definitely going to take that course of yours about pocket 3.
Love this video! We are in love with the Osmo Pocket 3 for travel right now!
I know. Me as well. Did you pick up ND filters for it?
Thank you. Which camera did you end up liking more?
Great video, thanks!
2:23 caught my eye! That was a slick transition!!!!!
Thanks!
Thanks for your thoughtful comment. Yes that’s true. The OP2 is overlooked a lot of times. It to is a great camera
Great comparison, great content! Thanks a lot...
Be it a memory, or a piece of timely information
You can record vertical on the OP3 by flipping the screen to get into vertical mode, and then in the quick settings panel switch the mode to landscape. The screen should display recording in 4k, while vertical!
That’s awesome. Thanks for telling me. I’m guessing you own the Osmo Pocket 3?
I really can’t think of any other photo platform that is this versatile.
That’s an awesome idea. Is the lens to wide for sports though? Thank you for all of the feedback.
@@thefilmalliance meh … a little “pinch / zoom” on the iPhone screen usually works …
The whole idea of the Pocket is its unobtrusive portability.
What an awesome review! You really help us decide which to purchase. I will definitely purchase the OP3 when it’s in stock!
Thanks for that, that is very encouraging.
Thank you, That's a great point. That is a nice perk
I think the pocket 3 is also a fantastic and has advantages for vlogging and has a larger sensor so should have better quality than the iPhone and perfect if you r a content creator, have both if you can afford it, simple 😎😎😎
Ps. Enjoyed watching 😁😁😁
That’s a great idea to keep a little cleaning cloth with you for the iPhone. I think it all depends on the user and what they’re using it for.
In the blind test I liked Camera A in every shot. Also, this is the best review I have ever seen.
23:06 I would also love to see how OP3 does when shooting indoor in studio light setup. 😎
Detailed overview from a true pro....excellent!
Awesome video man
Thank you. Do you have the Osmo Pocket 3?
OP3 has a focus issue. You can see that in the Piano shot where it briefly focuses on the background
The intro was legit!
Thank you, I am glad you are getting value from my videos.
HLG mode makes sense, even if you output it to SD. Because of the higher stops and colorrange, you have more room to play with the grading to SD.
Great point. Thanks for your input
Hey there, nice to hear from you. Thank you. I figured that out. Don’t be a stranger
You only touched the surface on this one.
(great video bro)
Haha I knew someone would say that

He already said that he dont dive deep to the specs, male karen
I don't think the quality difference is worth buying, I didn't notice a clear difference
thanks for the informative video. i have both of them and i think iPhone is much better specially when u use the original camera without using 3rd party app
That’s great you figured out what’s best for you for what you’re doing. I like them both
I have both, if I am in any kinds of motion or need tracking or motion timelapse then pocket 3. If I want to do a static shot while from time to time I need to zoom in then Iphone 15 pro
Dang, that’s a great idea

That’s awesome. Thanks for the input. Oh the good ole days. More coming!
Best comparison video between Osmo Pocket 3 and iPhone15 Pro I've seen in UA-cam! May I ask what gimbal are you using for the iPhone @ 14:39?🤩
Hey there thanks, the Hohem M2
@@thefilmalliance I’m an actor and filmmaker myself, and the visual part is of the most importance for me :)
But if there’s single focus mode option then it’s definitely a plus for OP3.
Excellent well done ........You answered all my questions making my decision on which one to buy much easier...
Great! Which camera did you end up going with?

Simple way to avoide phone calls 8:55 during video capture, live yt/insta/. Using the shortcuts app, created shortcut.. when ever phone is on video, lock orientation, silent mode, custom focus mode. Did for all camera apps, shortcut for cinematic settings… even Siri commands when iPhone is on tripod….
That’s a great point. Have you shot with the Osmo Pocket 3?
Good idea bro ! Could you share those shortcuts please ?
Awesome video!
I just started shooting videos using my iPhone 15 Pro and bought an Insta360 Flow($150) gimbal and a BOYALINK($100) microphone system last week.
However, after seeing the Osmo Pocket 3 yesterday, which led me to this video, I want one!
But probably not getting one anytime soon, since it is expensive.
I think for those people who already have a very good phone, getting a gimbal and a mic system is a better way to get started.
Anyway, thank you for the super helpful review!
Thanks for this nice comment. If you want to get your foot in the door with Osmo you can go with an OP2 for half the price!
I want the op3 but I already have fx30 so I’d rather have a camera in my pocket at all times iphone 15 for me
for iPhone I have set a camera focus mode to turn on automatically when either the camera app or the Blackmagic app is being used so no calls or notifications will come in
What a great idea! Thank you for giving that input. I’ll have to do that
I flew to HK to pickup the Pocket 3 creator combo with ND filter set at DJI/Hasselblad store on release date.
You know they’re all right for me, Joe!!
I’m trying to think of a camera that would be wrong for you…

That was really nice of you. Thanks for that. It’s been a long time coming compiling a system for putting these reviews together. I’m happy you liked it
Hello! I just watched your video because I want to start vlogging. Yet, I didn't understand what you said around 27:30. What you mean by HLG or SD?
This is the ULTIMATE comparison!
Wow, by far the most professional review i have seen. And your video is so eye pleasing to watch.
Thanks for your words of encouragement.Have you shot with either camera?
This is an exceptionally well-done comparison. Thank you, Joe. Subbed!
Thanks David. Coming from you, that means a lot.
Awesome video! My only concern is that sun flares are looking much worse on OP3 than on the iPhone.
The Film Alliance, where you go every time you promise your significant other that you’re finished searching for another camera. Then, the cycle begins again. The Pocket 3 is a tempting everyday carry camera.
Yes i definitely think it’s a pretty cool pocket camera
You should use ND filter for OP3 It will give you better dynamic range.
Underrated channel
Late comments but I’m sure most people now have new iPhones but this video is good for who don’t
That is a very good point
Thank you. Lots of helpful informations.
From your vid I found the iphone gets more brighter images than OP3, specially on low light and against the sun. Why is that?
2:27 that's a clean blend transition
You’re the only person who commented on that so far. Thanks
I'm considering thr DJI pocket 3. The base price is good, but the combo kit gets a little pricy for low-end youtibe creation. Thx for the review.
I agree - you could always get the Osmo Pocket 3 body and then USB-C headphones that have a microphone to up your audio game.
Thanks for the feedback, what do you mean jerky? Not smooth?
@@thefilmalliance No, there are random jerky in the movement when slowly panning to the side for example.
Great insight. I really appreciate that realistic review. Didn't seem forced or hyped, just honest. I've purchased the OP3 (I cant wait to get it tomorrow). This video made me feel better about not using a device I have every day vs. an external one.
