Hello all, unfortunately, we have stopped servicing the Xbox One X. We are still selling the parts. You can follow this link - bit.ly/3R73rUG - to purchase any parts you are looking for.
I have a series x that’s not reading discs, because of dust I believe. Is there a cleaner I can use to wipe of the dust ? Just want to know before I proceed with replacing the drive. Thanks alot! Great video
@@Joesge thanks for reply ! One more thing… in most cases if the Xbox one disc is not reading, will an optimal disc drive replacement solve this? Or can there be other issues that cause the disc not to be read. Like I bought an Xbox one X that looks incredible, basically brand new. But is not reading discs, so I dont think there’s any hard drive issues or whatever. When I put in an Xbox 360 game however, it will notice something is in there and will tell me basically “this xbox 360 game is not backwards compatible, check on website for a list of backwards compatible games”but for an Xbox one disc absolutely nothing pops up. Do you think this is a optimal drive issue ?
Thanks for this, I used it to get at the disk drive after my son thought it would be a good idea to put a playing card in it 😅 Happy to report it seems to still be going...!
Great video you just earned a subscriber and a like and I also just ordered a replacement xbox one x drive from you :) can't wait to have my xboxs one x disc drive working again!
@@nurax Not an ideal one. I'm going buy an optical drive and replace it myself. No warranty so I'm definitely not spending 200+ for microsoft to do it.
@@nurax I believe the issue is with the laser in the disc drive itself. you could just replace that alone. But personally i just feel more comfortable replacing the whole disc drive.

So I haven't used a Xbox one disc game in a while bought one today and my Xbox one x won't work it's makes a slight spin noise and then nothing what could be wrong?
Do I really have to replace the new board on the new disc drive with the old board of the old disc drive? I installed a new disc drive but it wont read any discs?
Yes you have to replace the daughter board. Microsoft is lame and make it to where the disc drive cant read discs if it doesn't have the original Board.
Anyone else have this same issue after swapping the blu ray drive from an Xbox One X? I performed the swap perfectly and soldered on my old daughter board onto the new blu ray drive and now I have to leave a disc inside the Xbox or else it will power and make noises. Does anyone know the solution?

@cemsengul16 I think I might be running into the same problem as you. I got my replacement drive from somewhere else. Is it possible for you to recall and share what support their support team gave you? Either here or in a DM?
@@Joesge im not quite sure what that means for it to be married sorry does it just mean its like codes or linked somehow and that if the new one doesn’t have that same code or pairing it wont read?
I mean i guess why doesn’t really matter lol i just like to try and understand what im doing and why im doing it, being able to learn and repeat something and actually understanding it are two different things.
@@Joesge I don't know if you are being sarcastic or not, but I looked at other videos and found out that the boards in the player and the XBox are programmed together. So they only work with each other, supposedly
From what we have experienced, if you replace it with a genuine disc drive there should be no issues with the 4K. Just be sure to swap the daughter board.

You can most defiantly open it up and just blow it with compressed air. Make sure to be careful around the laser though.

What do the red wire on the mother board of the dvd drive is broken
My X will read xbox one games but not 360 games. Will this fix that issue?
It could potentially but i cannot guarantee it.
@@Joesge okay, thanks 👍🏿

@@nurax Will definitely give this a shot before i replace anything. Thanks.
Why do you have to switch the disc drive board?
You have to replace the disc drive board because it is paired to the main motherboard
@@Joesge ok thanks
does the xbox one x and one s have the same disc drive ? can i swap the one from my one s to the one x ?
Yes you can, just make sure to keep the daughter boards inside the disc drive with its original console
What can ya do if the power connection falls off the motherboard

I sent one now there.
So I haven't used a Xbox one disc game in a while bought one today and my Xbox one x won't work it's makes a slight spin noise and then nothing what could be wrong?
Im not sure, but most of the time its the laser in the disc drive.
@@Joesge could I use one of the Blu ray lens cleaner for this🤔

@@Joesge Yup! Even though there are gaming PCs. Some company should come up with a console pc.

Why do you have to swap the boards
The board on the disc drive is married to the motherboard.

Not what he asked for
Why can't I just plug in the new bluray player?
I've never tried that so i wouldn't be able to tell you if you can or can't haha.
@@Joesge I don't know if you are being sarcastic or not, but I looked at other videos and found out that the boards in the player and the XBox are programmed together. So they only work with each other, supposedly
awww shit so you gotta solder the board back to the new drive?
Yes the daughter board is linked to the motherboard. If not soldered back on you will start getting errors and the disc drive wont work.
Does this eliminate 4K functionality?
From what we have experienced, if you replace it with a genuine disc drive there should be no issues with the 4K. Just be sure to swap the daughter board.
u didnt test before and after....... what's the point?
Simply showing you how to physically replace the drive.
Iv never used disc on mine don't read spines then stops odd bought brand new strange I will fix when get chance have pc I built blows xboxs away
