To put it in neutral, there’s a bolt underneath the car. You have to undo 40 spins. We have had a couple of these break down at work already. Happy to call and talk it through with you. Any of help, just message. I work at Fiat so happy to help.
Thanks for all the great content over the last year. You are absolutely my favourite channel by a country mile, So have a great Christmas guys and a drink on me
Vauxhall/Opel was purchased by PSA in 2016 , they then merged with Chrysler / fiat and formed Stellantis, to get it out of Park you can undo the Park Finger , needs to be turned 80 times , that motor looks like the same one as we fit to the Vans up North. Badged, Vauxhall, Peugeot, Citroen, Opel and Fiat , badge engineering at it's best. Any advice on how it works get in touch. By the way make sure you charge the 12v battery while it's off or it will not go into ready mode. Plus recharge the Aircon.
Mega Car - guys - These guys need to be on Quest - sod Car SOS or Drew Pritchard - this is what the petrol heads needs and the public would know how to save money from the rip offs, the information on part numbers would save the public loads of money, go guys have a great festive period - well done I say - Jason
worked on an ecorsa recently, main reason it would not start was fan motor damage and those brown relays for it on the left. as soon as we plugged in the new one and replaced the relay and some fuses it was fine. since electric motor and batteries depend on the coolant, it will not activate with no fan motor communication. 2021 corsa, used the autel diagnostics.
If it's anything like my old 500e there is a park release on the end of the transmission. Looks a bit like an oil filter housing with a rubber bung in the end. Remove the bung and you can wind the park off with a t20 or t25, can't quite remember which. It takes quite a lot of turns. Access is from underneath.
I don't know how to get it in neutral, but a drive shaft will probably come out pretty easily. And that will probably be easier than spending hours figuring out how to trick the trans.
Rob is like a child opening his Christmas present love to see it good luck to you both you make my day and I need it after loosing my wife to cancer in the last few weeks
If you ever have problems moving cars due to wheels locked or handbrake will not release, use baking trays under the wheels for easier moving both on and off the truck or on concrete/gravel surfaces.
It’s no wonder car insurance is so ridiculously expensive in the U.K. when they are writing off and paying out on this relatively easy fixers. Criminal.
Stellantis Group owns Peugeot, Citroen, Chrysler, Alfa Romeo, Fiat (and Abarth), Dodge, DS automobiles, Jeep, Lancia, Maserati, Opel(Vauxhall) and RAM so a lot of parts may cross over all these brands.
Hi rob and Chris, good luck with the wee bitsa car, hope you both have a merry Christmas and Happy new year, from marty in Belfast northern Ireland God bless
First thing you said what a beautiful car then showed us the front , l had to giggle, you need ' glasses Rob ' l hope you got the car in the bay b4 ' airbag services ' took out the dash & steering wheel or you will create a lot of extra work for you & Chris. cant lose at that, price its worth more in parts than you paid for it !!! its going to make a nice car for some one and hopefully a good return for you guys 👍
If that’s based on the Vauxhall/peugeot based you can’t get them in Neutral with out it running, I had to pick up 23 plate Citroen ds3 electric which is probably the exact same car and just decided to stop in the middle of a busy road, I managed to load it and took it to the dealer, luckily I managed to get neutral and the handbrake off, even the main dealer was impressed it wasn’t in park, the guy said these cars come in daily and the drivers always struggle to unload them and end up using a special track vehicle or they bounce them off the bed of the truck
It shares its platform with the Peugeot e208 and e2008, Vauxhall Corsa e and Vauxhall Mokka e, also the Jeep Avenger, The Alfa Romeo Junior and the new Lancia Ypsilon. You will probably have more luck finding some smaller components used off the Peugeot or Vauxhall sister cars as they have been out since 2020 or thereabouts.
I’m in the same boat currently. Got hold of a 2022 500E RED edition for £1950 doesn’t run like yours. But with 12v I can put it in neutral and take parking brake off. I was told it will run with a reflash of the system but needs all electrical Items replaced first. Let me know how you get on.
In the video clip where you guy’s have taken the bumper off and are talking about what is bent, I swear you can see Chris’s brain already going over exactly how he is going to pull that NS/F chassis leg back into position on the jig 👍😂
I live in Italy and the Italian 600 can not have the Italian Flag because the Italian govement says if the car is not built in Italy it can't have the flag. Ps i havent seen one yet
love every video thanks for the contuined content blood sweat tears and have a very well deseverd break and merry christmass and happy new year to you both and your familys hows chris's step daughter liking the fiat ? merry christmass and happy new year to all the people who read this also :)
What a great buy, well done lads. It will be interesting to see the ins and outs of the pyro fuse and replacing it. They do say you make your profit in the buying price - looks like you will gave a great late Christmas pay day there lads - well deserved. Hope you and your loved ones have a great Christmas.
I can’t possibly see how you can go wrong with this. Like EV’s or not, your inbox will be red hot when time comes to move it on. Your channel is addictive 👍
I love the video but cringe at the technology in these modern cars. If I were looking for a car today, I would search everywhere for a good-condition older model.
Should be able to put box in neutral by winding the gearbox in manually. If the same as Peugeot and Vauxhall then it should have an oval shaped cover on front of gearbox with 2 screws in. Then once that’s removed you just wind the screw(8mm I believe) about 90 times until it’s out of park. Better done with all power disconnected as when you put ignition back on it can put it back in park again.
A lot of modern BEV vehicles or cars with button gear selectors. Try ignition on. Hold the accelerator and brake. Press the N button and hold for a few seconds. Vehicle may then say on dash either held in neutral or a procedure to do for holding in neutral
I'm not a big fan of EVs but if anyone can demystify how to repair them safely - and bring that cost of repair down to 'normal' levels - then that can only be a good thing. And you are they guys who can do it. Merry Christmas!
Lovely car. Electric cars are cars. BUT they are software with wheels. If you put resistors in for every airbag fix the no coolant issue and clear the codes software will allow the car to operate. Rest of it is nuts and bolts. Love a chance at this car. I’ll be watching for it on instagram. 👍👍
Good evening Rob and Chris, great looking car and this will be an interesting project and some good content. Thank you for uploading another video. Happy Christmas to you both. Ged
Rob waffling while Chris is running his eyes over everything and seeing what’s needed, top class guys it’ll be interesting to see how much the bits cost, nice one guys, Rob I’m not complaining just having a little bit of fun as you always say enough waffling, personally I think it’s a brilliant buy
Struck gold there! Also, EVERYTHING under that bonnet is PSA, so motor and mechanical parts wise, they should all cross over nicely. Can’t unfortunately however put PSA body parts on a Fiat😢😂
That’s a great deal and you guys always find very good deals! However, I can’t believe the insurance let it go so cheap and don’t even try to repair it. Yes, I know it’s “structural damage” maybe but, this is also the reason why in UK prices of car insurance are getting out of control. In other countries they would have repaired it nevertheless and this is why insurances everywhere else are much cheaper.
Merry Christmas 🎅 Gents 🇬🇧👍🔧🧰
Wow thank you so much 👌
Rob you deserve it to get a Christmas turkey for you and Chris
@TheMG4hubcap Rob can you and Chris do a Xmas special where you and Chris swap presents and say merry Xmas to each other

Wow, thank you! So much
You could always pull the drive shafts out of the box or hubs. The wheels will be free then. Just a thought. 👍👍
Looks like a learning curve for all of us repairing this EV. It's going to be interesting.
I used airbag service last week for a full airbag replacement very reasonable!

Stellatis is the manufacturer for Fiat maserati lancia Peugeot citroen, vauxhall jeep chrysler So they all share parts.

I love the way you push the boundaries, good luck guys ,thank God for people like josh, that's the real dark arts
"The aluminium crash bar is quite expensive at £170 odd".....come on Rob you got ££££ to play with at that purchase price! 😂😂😂

There should be an unlock button near the console , or if you've disconnected the battery , jump start it from there
Such varied cars on here, it’s great!

Well worth a great punt, Happy Christmas.
Absolute bargain. Great to see you growing in confidence with EV's.

As an idea, why don't you get a couple of baking trays to use under wheels around yard. It'll make moving cars around easier??
Used to use McDonald’s trays for drifting back in the day 😂
Well done gentlemen, a fantastic purchase. I’m sure it will work out very well for you.

The odd minor SNAFU with a microphone is all part of the charm of the channel, Rob; no need to apologise.
That’s an early Christmas gift 👍👏👏

not my cup of t but you will make a nice profit on this one the bugbear could be the pyro fuse if you have to drop the main battery to get to it !
