I owned one of these a few years ago, and it was an absolute hoot. Proper little driver's car, and it never failed to put a massive grin on my face every time I drove it. I loved it. Somebody is going to get a bargain. A pretty much brand new auto supermini for £4k. You'd be mad not to.

Lovely rare example that Matt. I just gave away my 2002 K11 to a mate who does food delivery as he needed a car. These have started getting to the point whereby parts are discontinued so owners are having to shop around for second hand parts, in certain cases. Heater regulator chips always go leaving just the full fan speed, I got a new chip from Ebay for a few quid and replaced it myself in about 4 minutes in the passenger foot well. Try to get one without electric windows as they WILL keep breaking. Try to get one without a sun roof as it WILL start leaking. The lacquer on the paint WILL start to peel as your (perfect example) has proven. They WILL need under sealing and owners will need to stay on the look out for corrosion including the cross member in front of the radiator as water will pool inside it causing this issue. Otherwise, they are a cult modern day classic for good reason, they will run with basic maintenance until they rot away in years to come because of how simple cheap and dependable they are. Parts which have not yet been discontinued are some of the cheapest on the market. The K11 is the only car I have had two of, a 1.4 manual and a 1.0 manual and they were both amazing little cars.

This has just brought back a memory of something that I’ve not thought about in decades - reaching into the back to unlock the back doors. Parcel shelf speakers - normal back in the day and the owner was probably middle aged when he fitted them.
My late dad had a K10 micra in 1989, he bought it brand new. G918 PGJ. Would love to have one again just as a memory. Great video Matt. Love the last couple of videos .
Back in '92 I was employed at Nissan for the launch of the "New" Micra as a tour guide. It was a wonderful little car and with 80%+ local content more British than a Ford of the time that was probably built in Germany! The automatic was great for city driving and it drank next to nothing. Good to see that you have made sure one is still on the road.
Way back in a different life, did a roadtrip to Oban, Fort William and Mallaig in a red Nissan Micra - it was an absolute blast and the Micra was an absolute tonne of fun to chuck around highland roads. Love it!
The number plate would be worth the £1500 you paid for the car at least. So basically a free car. And the fact it’s up for sale for £3,245 with Reg Transfers proves this. Come on Matt, you could have offered the old woman more. You go down in my estimation. I thought you were so honest and genuine.
I think Matt needs to address this to his followers, nevertheless he’s a used car dealer and he has caught a cold on other cars he’s bought - i.e “I’ve massively overspent” and any other like-minded dealer would want to recoup funds to keep their business solvent.
@ yeah, so pay some old woman way under what her car and plate was worth. She clearly was unaware and was duped. Hope nobody does the same to your mother when she’s old.
I’ve got a concourse 1997 rover 114 sli. With 29,000 miles on the clock and full history. It only comes out on dry days. But it takes me back to when I had one of the first metros when I was in my early 20s I’m 57 now. Nothing wrong with having a mundane car that’s not worth loads of money it’s still part of motoring history
4:08 The “steering knob” reminds me of the typical Forklift style steering - because you operate with one hand on the wheel and one hand on the hydraulic controls
11:05 Gosh! When you cranked the sunroof, it took me right back to when I rented an identical one in 1998 to take 2 Canadian visitors round the West Highlands from Glasgow to Isle of Skye for a trip. 4 adults plus luggage for a week! Can’t believe it now! Cherry Red the only color to have! It looks great! Fun video, Matt!
3:34 ~ Matt, attracted a captivated audience of one, in the background; just behind him. Older gentleman, just can't look away. Also, no; you're not supposed to use that Disability-assist knob with two hands. It's designed so that folks with severely limited arm/hand strength can turn the wheel more easily with just ONE hand. _Maybe_ if you ever find another one of these being offered to you, perhaps have your brother go pick it up for you. MIGHT be a good idea. 😁
In the US, that knob on the steering wheel was so you could turn the wheel with only one hand. Had nothing to do with disability, just so you could drive and put your arm on the girl beside you! No bucket seats, just a bench seat.
My parents had a succession of them from launch in the early 90’s through to the early 2000’s. Sweet little 16 valve engine and a rifle bolt gear change. ❤
One of the best cars ever made, loved my Mum's 1.3 LX - I so wanted that engine in my Old Mini 1275GT - what a combo that would have been I also really share your enthusiasm for the Micra
What a neat little car that Micra is, it looks immaculate now that all the touchups have been done, and with a manual sunroof and windows, it's less to go wrong with it electronically, and being 30 years old, you won't need to pay the road tax which was quite high for a 1275cc Micra, I definitely think that you'll get the money that you're asking for it Matt, I hope that the first person that's shown interest in the Micra that you mentioned decides to buy it, the best of luck.
love 80s and 90 cars I once had a mk1 corolla Gti twin cam with twin cam stickers on the side no power steering but an electric sun roof . was a bit more luxury in my mk2 Gti and wow electic windows an sunroof lol, sold it for 500 quid less than I paid for it 2 years later,,,honestly they were bullet proof . love the channel by the way
I love old cars like this, there's something so appealing about it's simplicity. Sure AC, central locking and hydraulic steering would be nice but I'd still drive it with pleasure. I've driven one before owned by a family member and they are fun to drive, like a little cart, because of it's low weight it accelerates quicker than you'd imagine despite the 1.3 engine.
My mother in law had one. It's engine had cooked at some point and damaged the cylinder head , making it sound really rough....but it would not die. It ran on like that for years. Really tough, simple mechanicals. Which is what a lot of us would like to see come back. Cheap, tough, simple cars for all the donkey work.
That's an interesting choice of a car, I have to admit. Glad to see how fun it is for you to drive it. I can see a video in the future - 6 months update of owning one of the rarest cars in UK
I used to know a couple who add one each. I even think their son bought one. So many other cars to choose, but they just keep buying them. Must be nice to be so sensible, and think of mpg and low cost driving above everything else that’s available. Fair play to them.
Was looking forward to seeing this car, and I'm not disappointed. I get why you are excited about this car. I love the colour. I think the steering wheel attachment is because the last owner was one handed and they attach their prosthetic hand to it to steer. We have moved on. Cars are safer, but in a lot of cases they are just boring Euroblobs. I cable tied my Fiesta wheel trims because someone nicked the previous set. This would be welcome at the Festival of the Unexceptional
Save the old cars!!!! A rare find and yes it may just be a Micra but this will be bought by someone with nostalgia, as these may be someone’s first driving lesson car or relative/parents car back in the days. Glad Matt is saving some old cars. Old cars over new anyday. Also big up Retro plates, they are brilliant.
My mate bought one in 96 when he moved to London - his was also one lady owner. At the time I thought he was mad, but he ran that little thing for 12 years without issue - non descript, no one would nick it and it was cheap as chips to run, utterly reliable. Crackin little motor!
Never owned a car in my life, never had my name on a car v5 document, never insured a car. So why am I here well passed my test in 94 in a Nissan micra, have drove thousands of miles in citroen berlingo multispace and van and think citroen c6 is a masterpiece. Matt you and your content are truly incredible.

Funny isn’t it, In the 90’s as a young lad, if you’d have done this video back then I wouldnt have given a toss. Never paid any attention to the Micra’s back then. But in the year of our lord 2024 and in my 30’s this is more exciting than most things you’ve had on the channel recenlty

Excellent. I love the way you have restored an old car
Well done Matt. Great to see this little car getting a new lease of life. 👏🙌🏴
As MightyCarMods would say - what a Nugget! :D
Great to see you rescue such a mint little car.
That steering knob will be on the Range Rover before the day is out!
Moaned about it and yet he can't keep his hands off his knob!
Cracking little car. Done it again. Micra discovered and saved.
Straight up 'Festival of the Unexceptional' entry! Love it, I'd gladly have a slice of that for in town use.
What an absolute gem! Love it. Was definitely worth the effort. You’ll never, ever find another like that.
BTW, we really need to meet Jimmy the Magician. The work he does is amazing.
My eldest son had one of them as his 1st car,got it very cheap I said it'll see you for may be a yearz3 years later it was still going strong never gave him a be of hassle,to this day he says dad remember my Micra never let me down unlike what ever car he now has
That fella in the bus stop was loving it 😂
I’m looking a new car as I got in a crash a few days ago and a wee micra like this looks fun!!!
bodywork fees were VERY reasonable indeed! Wow,.. what a cracking vid
What a Bobby Dazzler 👌
Well done Matt, you’ve done it justice - Nice touch with Nicks plates
I’ve an M reg Fiat Panda Auto done 5k and a Datsun Micra K10 on an A plate with 25k
There’s some love for these wacky old finds
I bet you don’t have it long !
Yessir, I'm as excited as you! What a find!
I had a pug 309 gld without powered steering and found keeping the tyre pressures up really helped.
Absolutely love this! The retro plate is a nice touch
Old plate is for sale on reg transfers for same price as the new asking price. Kept that one quiet, I sell all my reg plates off bought cars that come with private plates.
A colleague had a manual one of these - ingerited from his grandpa in early 2000's.
It was amazing on Highland roads, particularly in snow or ice on winter tyres it was unstoppable...
I'm absolutely loving these unusual finds, Matt 😁 I'd be excited as well if I came across a 30 year old micra with such low mileage. When they're still so original with no wear and tear... love it ❤😊
Thank you. I had one of those back in the day and have such fond memories. We had a purple one which we called the purple turtle. Such great memories.
I had one of these for about 5 years, loved it. If only they make simple cars like this now. Love this example, mint ❤
I did my driving lessons and passed my test in that shape Nissan micra, I took years before getting first car and the fuel was 55p a litre
great video matt,,when cars and life where so simple
Funny isn’t it, In the 90’s as a young lad, if you’d have done this video back then I wouldnt have given a toss. Never paid any attention to the Micra’s back then. But in the year of our lord 2024 and in my 30’s this is more exciting than most things you’ve had on the channel recenlty
I like the idea of a Drum n' Base granny cruising the hoof with her Chemical Brothers CDs blaring out.
Love it! Always had a soft spot for the micra
Matt, you found a true gem , I sold bucket loads of the micra's in the 80s and 90s, honest ,genuine little cars . What a find , well done 👏 👍.I would keep that little minx .
We have owned ours for 5 years. It’s never let us down once.
Ideal for driving round Menorcan country roads
Never needs a cam belt .power steering n air con . Perfect little car
Brought back memories. I learnt to drive in a manual Micra.
I had an h reg k10 micra when i passed my test, great little car great fun to drive and it never went wrong, loved it really miss it
Just a lovely car fast becoming 'vintage'. There were so many of these in the day. I think the only real negative was they fold up in a crash. Worth the money all day long in that condition/mileage and will soon be sold I'm sure. Well done, great video thanks for sharing.
Passed my test in one of these, so much better than my Mum’s 1990 Metro. Brilliant little cars.
Loved mine, easy to live with and so reliable.
A great little town runabout, uncomplicated with very little to go wrong
