Fun fact, rotoscoping is a technique editors use to mask out an object from the background. When you see a blurry face in a video, that face was rotoscoped. Generally done in After Effects.

I agree with that comment, I wasn't sure what to make of this song at first, but after a couple listens it's now probably my favorite song they've ever done, full stop. I also was heavy into the 90's/00's industrial metal back in the day, so that might have something to do with it.

This song is super dynamic with tons of melody and rage. Love it!
This is the sound of a band that has gone from playing to hundreds before the lockdowns to tens of thousands now.
And to be honest, Hysteria is a great song to end with, it's basically a reminder to fans that freaked out over this.
Even though Yellowjacket is actually the least Spiritbox track they've ever done.
This is one of my fav spirit box songs for sure. My fav was circle with me before this one!

The lightsabers in the original Star Wars movies were rotoscoped. The blade of the lightsaber was covered in reflective tape so it kind of glowed in the actual footage. Then a SFX guy would go frame by frame and mess with the exposure around the blade to get the effect.

I used to live in Niagara before I moved to the UK and went to Montbello Park for shows many times. Jealous that you guys get to see Billy Talent and Alexisonfire this weekend. Especially with the recent drop of Alexisonfire's new album. Crazy that I also think I went to that same show at the Air Canada centre with Cancer Bats, Against Me, Alexisonfire and Billy Talent. Great show.

If you've ever seen Joel Haver's videos (his most popular is "NPC's Perspective When Your Controller Dies"), that's rotoscoping in action. If you enjoy it and are keen on it, he also made a video detailing how he does it. It's very interesting. As far as the song goes, I love this shit. It's kind of all over the place. Mike's pick scrapes are excellent.

I much prefer their previous video clips made by Versa Films (Hurt You, Blessed Be, Constance...). In those they had an authentic cinematographic approach, with actual scenery and actors. In this one, it looks like the group was in front of a green screen the whole time and everything was just added FX. It isn't bad but I see it as cheaper.
Honestly sounds like Spiritbox heard Carbonized by Northlane and wanted to do something similar. Mayble it'll grow on me but with this style Northlane does it better

@@johanthompson1463 I listen to all those except deathcore, just too heavy lol. I also like power/folk symphonic/prog/gothic/thrash metal, trance/house/drum n' bass/chillstep/dubstep/hardstyle, and punk/Celtic punk.
@@senditkevin Almost forgot about dubstep. I usually listen to a lot of underground Dubstep artists. Most of which I found on Alex Mtch’s channel. I highly recommend checking out this channel if you’re looking for some REAL good and occasionally heavy/groovy Dubstep and not by the mainstream wannabes claiming to be Dubstep.

Stylistically, I can’t believe you didn’t mention the y2k aesthetic for her clothing. Maybe you’re a bit too young (idk), but Billie Eilish and many others brought back the look of late 90s-early 00s fashion, which was a lot of bright colors, slick fonts, and big, baggy fits. Think giant puffy DC shoes, JNCO jeans or strapped/zippered parachute pants, etc. this video easily could’ve come out in 1999 aesthetically. I’m not sure if it’s some crazy combination of the 70s or whatever else, it’s just y2k. Simply ripped from the late 90s-early 00s.
Canada has to get it together. Bands don't come up here still, or are turned around at the border. For Ontario anyways... I hope it gets back to normal.
