The song with breaking Benjamin sounded like older startset because it was. Dustin wrote that song for his first band and re-recorded it for this special release.
@@Max-jl2ie Dustin (Starset singer) wrote the song for his first band, Downplay. So he just re-recorded it for Starset/BB, he even commented on a Facebook post recently saying it shouldn’t be considered a cover.
This video is deep in the STARSET lore. This is about 30 years in the future, and the three dots on the temple are the BMI, brain machine interface. It is supposed to basically turn your brain into a computer, where you can relive memories, attend events while not actually being there in person, and experience literally anything. It serves as your ID, banking info, etc. It can do amazing things, but it also shows the extremes of capitalism and consumerism. The WERK, SHYFT, E-SCORT, ALWAYS-ON, BODY TUNE* programs are all created by the corrupt New West/New East (corporation/governing body), who get people hooked on these artificial means of having a "perfect" life, but then they get trapped when they can't afford their next fix. There are means of hacking the BMI, which you can see in the video for Symbiotic, and then there is the New West, which is taking control of people who can't afford to pay for the BMI features and enslaving them. The BMI is also a tracking device, and when it's online, you are only allowed to go certain places, do certain activities, etc. (The Breach video), and if you go out of bounds, you will be "supplicated" (basically shut down) by drones. There are rebels who sneak people to safety, away from the technology that has corrupted society, too. *The redheaded guy who shows up at the older lady's door during the BODY TUNE part is also the main character in the video for Ricochet. I won't detail the entire video, but definitely check it out. It's one of my favorite songs from Vessels. Monster also shows an early iteration of the BMI and how it lures people in. Bringing It Down shows how someone's memories can be accessed by others and why that's a double-edged sword. It also happens to be my favorite STARSET song (although the music video is v. 2.0, and I like the original better).
@@abtuseplays similar. It's not based on it, though. Dustin came up with the BMI concept for the lore storyline before Elon Musk ever talked about Neuralink.
This video is the reason I like Wyatt so much. The analysis, the self reflection, the shift in mentality from the negative to the positive, the way he convinces you to free yourself without trying to convince you. You may not like it, but this is what peak performance looks like.
I get what u mean with the breaking Ben Collab, it was originally an old Downplay song (Dustins old band before starset), it was made close to the transmissions era, and kinda has that feel, I thought it was fine, it improved the originally and added on to it, to each to their own
More starset! Dig back in their catalog if you need to and just pick a music video. Love the in depth break down that you both have of them. The videos are supposed to make you think about them. Symbiotic is another recent one that was good as well.
Great reaction!! Starset always pushes the envelope! Glad you all got into some philosophical discussion. Most people do not take the time to ponder on the what if's/ out side the box mentality. We have free will to do what we want. Great reaction.
I think y'all would love the new Waiting For The Sky to Change (Feat. Breaking Benjamin) that Starset just released. Luke Holland did the drums for that track.
I thought the song with Breaking Benjamin was underwhelming too at first, but I love it now after listening to it a few more times. On the other hand though, Icarus grabbed me right away! It's one of my favorite Starset songs
I loved the song with BB honestly. It sounded like old Starset vibes. But both of their voices sounded huge and the strings and composition of the song just made the whole thing feel epic to me lol. Nice reaction!
This is a crazy video. It reminds me of Cyberpunk 2077 with some of the concepts. Amazingly well done from Starset. (And best of luck on all your adventures, guys!)
Do you plan on reacting to anymore I Prevail as their new album is out and it slaps. I'd recommend reacting to Judgement Day and Choke, they're absolutely awesome.

My son is like that, he doesn't want to leave the house, his friends are all online. Covid lockdowns completely screwed people, especially children. It's a very apt song.
Unfortunately as much as I love breaking Benjamin and startset, it was let down with the song as well. A collaboration like that I was expecting something very special. Not what we got.
We will be live in 1 hour on TWITCH (6pm EST) Twitch.tv/WyattStav

@@Max-jl2ie yeah. The downplay version is on UA-cam. I couldn’t find it on Spotify though.

This is the most perfect comment one could ever imagine to a Starset song

I only listened to it once but I literally couldn't tell who was singing when in the BB feature
There's a icon at the left side of the lyric Video which indicates that. Ben sang the 2nd verse/chorus.

No way more starset impossible! Awesome video!!
Keep up the Starset!! Gotta check out the new I prevail though

Hey Wyatt!! What happened to the covers you were doing ?? I miss them
