    Fun fat about Chicken Run: all the chickens have neck accessories to hid the seam between the head and neck.

    The amount of work and effort into this is just insane . Leaving a comment so hopefully the algorithm picks this up cause this is criminal how little traffic this gem of a video is getting .

    The Adventures of Mark Twain is on UA-cam. So do yourselves a favor and give it a watch, its genuinely a work of claymation art.
    And yes, the Satan scene is a total whiplash moment of existential dread that hits you like a bag of hammers.

    I met John Cairney (Hylas) at a Jason and the Argonauts screening a few years ago. He didn’t like the director Don Chaffey at all, and considered Ray Harryhausen to be the director. I also got to meet Ray’s daughter Vanessa.

    I managed to see the Quay Brothers in person for In Absentia.
    Along with Harryhausen, so much of the E. European school set the standard by which most could be judged, in my personal opinion.
    I only wish an artist like Giger would've been able to find more interest in the medium.
    Some killer inclusions to investigate here.

    More"Cartoon Adulting" to do here(hit a big red button with me on this): JAN SVANKMEYER & BROTHERS QUAY shorts are essential(Bros. Quay also did videos for TOOL back in the day); other fun American stop motion adjacents: LAND OF THE LOST tv show, THE LAND THAT TIME FORGOT, PEE WEES PLAYHOUSE tv show, JOES APARTMENT short film, all LAIKA output(BOXTROLLS, PARANORMAN with bonus production documentaries); the psychedelic sequence in the 90's nature epic"The Bear";& finally, just some grown ass cartoons you need in your brain: COONSKIN(Bakshi), a response to Disney's "
    Song of the South" where the Uncle Remus characters are inhabited by SCATMAN CROTHERS, BARRY WHITE, & the black guy from MIAMI VICE as they try to conquer the NYC heroin market in the 70's(should have been the zeitgeist callback flick of the BLM protest years)*; ALLEGRO NON TROPPO, a response to Disney's FANTASIA's cultural colonialism toward European classical music with sex and violence; LIGHTYEARS(aka GONDAHAR) is a star studded treatment of an Isaac Asimov alien world where men & women are equal & all tech is biological; BABE 2: PIG IN THE CITY, because I like it when confused children start crying. This feels like a gateway video for your obvious & shared appreciation of practical effects in horror/fantasy/sci-fi flix. Maybe do a series of shorter episodes on that...just sayin. That would rule.

    Dear Wyatt,
    Are you familiar with the Italian cutout animation artists Giulio Gianini and Emanuele Luzzati? They have created through the years these fairytale shorts, especially about opera, that are simply gorgeous. One good example could be the one for "La Gazza Ladra" by Rossini:
    ua-cam.com/video/tNIyV2HcM-4/v-deo.html
    They've also made a short educative movie about "The Magic Flute" by Mozart: highly, highly recommended.

    ahhhhhhh! im torn /: i love this content and im glad youre exposing your audience to the genre/medium, buuuuuuut i wish you put more thought into your presentation, like writing a script or at least not rambling as much. and maybe including some clips or images from the films? i think you could put a little more effort into pronunciation (for example, the czech guys name sounds like "yawn svonkmyer") and variety of words used; it felt pretty repetitive and was kinda painful for me to watch at times ): but man, im really glad youre talking about this stuff! ive been into stop motion like forever and imo it doesnt get enough attention. one more thing, have you seen tetsuo the iron man? its a wild and disturbing 80s japanese film with some interesting stop-motion towards the end. anyways i was debating whether to say anything at all... i mean no disrespect, just think of it as constructive criticism. (im sorry)

    • @wyattxhim
      @wyattxhim  Місяць тому +4

      I get what you’re saying and it’s totally valid what you’re criticizing .
      That being said those changes are not what I want. Me writing a script is not me figuratively and literally. When I hear people read off a script it sounds like I’m watching a crappy news report than a person. I rather say the same thing that I feel than purposely expand my vocabulary because I kept looking up words in a thesaurus.
      Showing video clips is also not something I like doing and not because of copyright strike but my whole take is I want to come off genuine to the point as if me and the viewer were having a face to face conversations without phones or computers to show each what we’re talking about.
      Maybe my problem is I’m old school in the oddest ways on the internet but that’s what I love about doing this .
      Thanks though for the other positive feedback!

      @wyattxhim  Місяць тому +4

      Tetsuo the iron man !

      @@wyattxhim Not gonna lie everything this person said I actually disagree with. I enjoy your videos because there is no script. Your a genuine person talking and that's a lost art in this day and age of UA-cam. Everything is so edited and fake. I personally would rather listen to a person talk about a subject organically. Keep it up man! I came here for the obscure metal genres but I have stayed for your genuine down to earth personally. Take care.

    • @xoxollin
      @xoxollin Місяць тому

      @@wyattxhim i think theres ways to make reading from a script sound down to earth and casual but at the same time i appreciate your response and i can see where youre coming from. ive been a fan of your channel for a while and ive had these thoughts for other videos too but this was the first one that i was personally invested in and already knew a lot about, which i think is why i felt obligated to say something finally. i still think it wouldnt hurt to expand your vocabulary a bit; sure you can get by with less but the more words you know, the more complex and direct you can be with descriptions and conveying complicated ideas. regardless i appreciate you and your chill and thoughtful response, as well as the general maturity of your comments section; you are definitely cultivating a positive community thats interested in expanding their minds through new experiences in film and music. thank you.

    • @coltennial9513

      I personally enjoy the non-script type videos like how Wendigoon does it. I'm sure Wyatt has some notes about the films and some quick info kind of like Wendigoon does, but unlike Wendigoon it's not his full time job and it's just chill more laid back conversations. Constructive criticism is always great for the creators so don't think I'm hatin on your comment or anything! I have been really wanting to watch Tetsuo The Iron Man, can't wait to see it.
