Thank you so much for the videos. I had bought some seeds from ETSY (they were various seeds) so I decided to take your advice and also bought some from FlyTrap King. I'm so glad I did, after stratifying the seeds, the seeds from Flytrap King are sprouting, (it is so cool) but the various seeds are molding. All the seeds are under the same dome, so I know the conditions were the same. I don't plant on the same scale that you do, I'm just giving this a test run. I'm in N Ala so our climate is alot like yours. If all goes well, I will order more seeds this summer or fall. Thank you so much for info, if you start selling seeds, please let me know, I like the deep veined ones, so I don't know yet what mine are going to look like.

Hey, really interesting to see the process. I should have a tonne of my own seeds this year from various crosses, do you recommend to just germinate them in fall, if so once they are baby seedlings, do they need the cooling off period respected? I have a cold greenhouse in the UK
Hello! Sorry for the delay getting back to you - if you'd like to simplify the process, you can sow your seeds in the fall in the cold greenhouse and they will go through their cool period (stratification) naturally being exposed to the cooler temperatures and should germinate the following Spring!

Could I leave my seeds in the fridge to stratify from the end of November to late February/early March when spring arrives?
Hi George! Sorry I didn't see this notification earlier - yes you absolutely can! That is actually what they're used to in nature so they should keep fine and germinate well in Spring.
How do you store your seeds over a long period of time? I planted too many this year and don't have any more room in my grow spaces and I still have a bunch of seeds left.
You can put them back in their ziplock bags and store them in the fridge for quite a while! No need to use the paper towels, just put them back in dry. I’ve stored seeds for ~2 years like this. They won’t germinate at quite the same rate, but you’ll still get fairly good germination!
Can you put the freshly sprouted babies out in early spring weather after last frost without killing them ? E Texas . I have kiddie pool with distilled water + drainage holes.
Hi! Sorry for the delay, yes early Spring or early Fall are great times to move them outside so they can adjust while the temperatures are more moderate
I don't have space for growing lights. Could I just use sunlight outdoors in the Florida Panhandle?
Hi Ron! Yes you certainly can! You might provide some protection from rains while they are small so your seeds don't get washed away before they have time to sprout and take root
How can I fertilize my sarracenia in a flat where there are no insects?
Do I have to keep them in the fridge if it’s already spring?
As long as they’ve been stratified you can sew them whenever! If they haven’t been stratified in a damp environment you will need to do that prior to planting them
How many hours of light a day do they require. I’m growing other plants at 14 hours of sunlight per day. Could I put them in the same group of plants for 14 hours?
Hello! Sorry for the delay - yes these plants love the sun! As long as you are not somewhere with especially harsh UV like Texas or Arizona, they should be able to handle all the sun you can give them
@@atlantacarnivorousgardens7853 are there any pictures that do well in Texas? Wouldn’t be opposed to an indoor plant if need be
I heard someone say they used just a glass bottle of water and dumped the seeds in there to stratify them. Every hear of that before?
I haven't but that actually sounds like it would work! Might be a challenge getting them out at the end and drying them off but that might be an even easier method
What is the temperature for stratifying in your fridge?
Hello! I believe it is in the upper 30 degrees Fahrenheit range, around 39
What kind of lighting did you provided or used for germination?
Hello! We use high output fluorescent fixtures or any LED grow light designed for plants
So we can stratify for 6 weeks at any time of year?
That is correct!
Can you stratify any time of the year?
Yes! I stratified some seeds in May this past year to germinate in June

Why keep them inside for that long?
We keep ours growing indoors for about 2 years so that they can grow year-round and achieve a larger size a bit quicker than they otherwise would outdoors :)
@@atlantacarnivorousgardens7853 is the outdoor sun too much for them under 2 years? Have you ever experienced them dying due to too much exposure?
