    Thanks for the tips . I’m growing my first sarrecenia from seed so this all helps. I let all my fertilizers mix in the water for 5-10 minutes to makes sure it’s all dissolved before I test TDS. You’d be surprised how much it can fluctuate as it all mixes in over those few minutes.

    This was a great informational and tutorial video. Thank you! One question regarding the Pitcher Injection Method. You talked about how much to fill the pitchers with but my question is; How often do you fertilize?

      Hello! The quick answer is as much as I can with the pitcher injection method! I am usually too busy to do it more than monthly, but the plants will benefit from it greatly and it can be repeated as frequently as you like. Your pitchers may age/die off more quickly but should be replaced by vigorous, larger pitchers in a short time frame

    TRAY METHOD: You top water them with the fertilizer solution or fill the tray and let it wick up?

    Does parts per million still apply with fertilizer or water that has filtered through peat? When measuring ppm in water you’re measuring mineral content in the water which as we all know is bad for carnivorous plants, but tannins and the natural breakdown of organic materials in the media will cause the ppm level to read high.

    Hi friend, I recently bought a pitcher from you! Just wondering, have you considered using Discord as a tool to spread the word of your nursery and videos?

      Hello! Sorry for the late reply - I hope you are enjoying your pitcher plant! I'm not familiar with how Discord works, but will look into it and consider it as another tool to share our content!

    I'm too scared to do this! My plants are outside and they are gluttons.

      Osmocote

      @@wysdasidangadinugraha4555 Agreed! Osmocote works great, either on the soil or in the pitchers and should be relatively easy to find in most countries. Otherwise you could experiment with balanced, low/no ammonia orchid fertilizer

    Will 250ppm burn the seedling pitcher if grown outdoors at full sun?

    • @tomasck2973
      @tomasck2973 2 роки тому

      Sarracenia Northwest recommends at most 100ppm for Sarracenia if I remember correctly, under 50ppm ideally. The burning doesn't have to do with the sun exposure. I don't recommend that you place seedlings in the sun for long though.

    why max sea?. whats different between that and miracle gro or generic 16 16 16? Also have you ever dumped a tray of water on your T5s? if so what happened?

    • @TheAndybear06

      Maxsea is a safer more natural fertilizer. Miracle grow of any kind will quickly kill carnivorous plants

    TRAY METHOD: How low do you let your PPM get to before refertilizing? Thanks

    My carnivores are outside and catch their own food. Never used fertilizers for them.

      That is the best - natures fertilizer! We never fertilize our outdoor plants either, only the seedlings growing indoors to speed them up so they can go outside faster
