    Thank you very much for this, my scene really didn't need a whole cloud generation, but this tutorial made it possible! Bifrost is pretty neat

    Literaly amazing. It will be great if there is tutorial video for exporting open vdb files :)

    On 23:07 how did you change the black part of the cube to light grey? I did the change you said that is increasing the intensity but still it looks like what it looked at 23:00.

    hey the voxel_field node seems to not be working in the new version of bifrost

      Maybe the scale compared to the voxel size

      Mine too, I followed exactly as shown and mine is looking almost like a pixel art version of a cloud

    can the cloud be used for collision? i have a scene with the tardis and i want it to fly through ans create a trail. or should i stick to vdbs in houdini?

    • @sarkamari
      @sarkamari  6 місяців тому +1

      You can bring your geom into the bifrost editor as a collider and plug it into collision. Make sure the mesh is not too dense otherwise you need to make a proxy and use that instead. Then bind the proxy to the high res geom during the animation

    hi love your work- how would one add a wispy mist to a cloud?

    • @sarkamari
      @sarkamari  Рік тому

      Id definitely use a new graph with lower density (can be comp'ed on top of the cloud for optimisation). For the wispy pattern turbulence force field would be good starting point

    This is amazing. I was wondering if there was a chance that you know how to export the volumetrics for use in Unreal? I'm trying to create a cloud "sea" for a project and would like to create a modular kit of clouds that I can export from Maya

    hey there running into a bit of an issue again lol... just going through all your courses they are amazing. My clouds are coming out to be very low res or cubic.... (not intentionally) like from the point where we add an advect field it becomes similar to the one the video but just chunky.... (I am using your exact values). any advice as to why this may be would greatly be appreciated. :)

      @@ShatabdaRoy115 so I just scaled my scene to meters still it is pixelated but I then just grouped the bifrost stuff and scaled it in group and it just made it visually smaller to see still really bad but far enough away it’s not an issue

      if you're using Maya 2022.3 or higher you should be able to press tab and type in "voxel_field"

      @@sarkamari Is there another node in Maya 2020 that will get the same results?

    • @sarkamari
      @sarkamari  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Adam;
      Bifrost has changed a lot since 2020. If you really want to keep Maya 2020 you can do that and just download and install the latest Bifrost version manually

      Any light can impact the cloud. You can test it by placing a strong point light right in the middle of the cloud volume and render
