Words cannot express how much I adore this car and all the work and love you've put into it. I am going to have to get rich purely to buy one and drive it every single day for the rest of my life. It's the most beautiful car in the world. Good job chaps.
We followed you through to Bergwerk from T13 in a Grey R35. What a real pleasure to watch this little treasure being driven how it should be driven! One of life's moments for me...a fellow Alfisti!
That symphony of exhaust, the “snick” of that precise shifter, the squeal of the tires and the skill of that driver! That’s one of the best runs I have ever seen on the ring.
It does now but back then it had a 2 litre TS with two Weber 45s on it and 216 bhp. We rebuilt the whole car a few years ago. It's now got 240 bhp from a 2.2 litre Twinspark on throttle bodies and the whole thing weighs 70 kg less even though it now has a full interior, and has much more developed suspension. Back then it was around 250 bhp/ton, it's now 290/ton. In current GTA-R 290 form it's lapped the 'Ring in less than 8 minutes. It's a very different car now!@@gaussrifle1988
This was majestic! ❤️ The sound coming from the engine, the sound coming off the tyres, the Porche unable to get away, even the click with every gear change adds to that!
@@Jb001jb Yeah that's my thought process as well. Ideally i'd find an original GTAM shell for resto & build the car around that with as many Alfaholics parts as possible. Beninca Motors in Melbourne do good engine and race/track day car preparation & have engine and shock dyno's
No way... lol.. unbelievable.. I never knew our old Alfa's have this much potential... wow. You had the GT3 in your sights the whole time... you guys need to make more videos like this. Well done Alfaholics. Well done indeed! Great driving...
Stephen Manjai it’s been modified by alfaholics, suspension, brakes, stripped weight + engine bored to 2.3L. A regular stock gta can’t keep up with the gt3 (edit: price tag for alfa around £200.000)
Brutal, just brutal I have never ever heard such a sweet sounding engine. I’m in love. The driver too was something special, hitting the apexes, braking etc. It was all the over the Porsche, granted the Porsche had it 21st century driving aids and more hp and all that bla…bla… but the Alfa and the driver where seriously out of this world.
Dropped my rebuit 2lt Nord back into my mark 1 1750 the other day. Gearbox, webbers, everthing done. Clocked 110mph on a back road out near Boona (QLD, Australia) still pulling, just magic.
You can really see that the Porsche is struggling with its weight despite the fact that it has obviously more power but in the corners, it's just being blown away by the Alfa. Nimble and very agile, there were corners and lines that the Alfa took without any hesitation but would've been detrimental to other cars. It just turned and grips the road like a bubblegum.
TheStuntdude12 - handling performance is about mass to road speed and tyre grip, more than just pure power weight, which may be similar. Without exception, lighter cars handle better.
Loved my 1750GTV and wish I still had it. But this? What an absolutely joyous monster of a car. Oh, how I wish I had this. Congratulations Alfaholics, you have created a sublime vehicle and work of art.
The Porsche, overloaded with technic and Electronic and the Alfa Romeo only with four wheels, a steering wheel, an engine and such big smokey BALLS...!!! O.O Just impressive!!!
I’ve ridden bikes on track at a decent level in the past, this is the equivalent of a well sorted 250cc 2 stroke destroying the ego of every 1000cc rider in the corners, and the thou rider, rides off track, then out of the track afterwards with his tail between his legs. What a glorious intake roar, handling and balance that car has. I’m having one when I’m minted. 😎
+Jonka Olofsson if you haven't seen it already you should watch swiss chris's video where he drives the m3 gts vs the ringtaxi. imo that one is even better. but this alfa is living up to it's name for sure on the ring in the video.
Would love to see the rear view video from this Porsche of this Alfa Romeo looming large at every corner. That would be 8 minutes of video worth watching!
I think with a small turbo, he probably gets by him, Porsche just too much in the straights, but damn the little bastard corners on a dime. Great stuff
Beautiful!! Just freakin beautiful!! Each time you changed gears that shifter goes click click like fine piece of Italian wizardry. Great driving with balls to boot! Love it! Thank you! "It's the song of my people".
The Porsche slowed him down in a few places. That and tweaking some of the lines would give an even better time, I think. The driving is good enough as it is. Wow. What a car.
Alfaholics should add the dual oil-pump compressors of the GTA SA, with wastegate, better cooling and power output management .. the 1600cc GTA SA had 250 hp at the time
This looks like a real proof that for a alfa romeo gta it's almost impossible to win a race with a porche 911... even with more HP the alfa can't beat a porche aerodynamics on a track... Anyway great driving the alfa gta 👍
It took the brits to understand what an Alfa Romeo is supposed to be. In Italy nowadays we copy the germans and make SUVs. Look what a project of the sixties can still do (updated as you wish, but without driving aids). Bravi.
The driver seems to know his car very well. He drove so nicely to the limits and the car behaved still well. Pure pleasure to watch 👍.

this is the best camera position inside a cockpit EVER. and the car is also one of best best ever (for me at least).
Amazing video!

The incredible sound you are hearing is from the ITB's.. its from the engine..

Twin Weber 45s back then!

It would be interesting to see how fast the Alfa gets around without a Porsche slowing it down in the corners
In the Top Gear video they claimed the 230 hp version can go sub 8
Hair-raising! nearly had that SOB right at the end too! Bravo! 😈

Beautiful video of a gourgeous car being driven by an amazing pilot!

Great little Alfa GTA, super driving following that Porsche. You've done Alfa Romeo proud in that little beauty.Siperb.
So good, what a wonderful sound. I love the way the gear change sounds like a well oiled bolt action rifle.
A chap from Morgan brought me here but by god it was worth it. Stunning work.

Great piece of pedalling and your car is obviously well sorted, it looks so balanced on the edge. Love it! Bet the driver of the Porker was surprised!

Randolf Garrido similar power to weight

Alfa driver is better than Porshe on and pushing the limits, Porshe driver is kinda relaxing and not pushing it...
@777 that's a slow lap for a gt3rs

Very nice, but I miss the reaction of the GT3 driver ! I wanna see his or her face :-)
"...and yet, i keep seeing this 1300 gt junior in the mirror... that's when I said to myself, no more cocaine, ever"
Its funny to think how the GT3 is probably the cheaper of the two cars as well haha but we all know which one is cooler!
I love the click of the gearbox more than the sound of the engine itself 😊
