Wow, I miss my GTV1750 I had in Melbourne, Australia in the early 80s, a little masterpiece of engineering.A week after I bought it I pulled the engine out and replaced the bearings, rings, water pump, then sent the head and oil pump away to be checked, when I ran the engine again it felt like had an extra 40 hp! My friend was a Jag and Aston Martin owner, he said "if this was made in england I'd buy one", that was a very big compliment coming from him! My GTV could not stand up to what this GTAm goes through, anyone would love that noise these great little engines make! Thanks for keeping these lovely Alfas alive!
You probably dont give a damn but does any of you know a method to log back into an Instagram account?? I somehow lost my password. I would love any tricks you can offer me
@Sage Zayn Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site on google and I'm trying it out now. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I get chills hearing that beautiful engine. I know I will be a long way from owning one. But your POV video is the next best thing. Driven the way it was meant to be.
There's something about Alfas when you drive them, you WANT them to win... You just know its no ordinary car. Can't explain to those who haven't raced one.... ❤😊💪
The 2.0 Berlina rev'ed just as freely! 40mm Webers Rally prepped by Auto Delta 130 hp... but lots of TORQUE over a road racer TZ 1600... For Colorado roads... 9000 to 14,000 ft. HEAVEN! 1976... J.C.
That car just seems perfectly balanced. The engine seems powerful and sounds great! And the driver did a good job. Those Porsche 911 didn't have a chance. The only one it couldn't catch.. was the yellow GTAM at the end
It had no problem catching up with the mustang which probably has twice the power, LOVE the old Alfas. That mustang does not really belong on a track..
+Jonka Olofsson Mustang, typical US car engineering, stick a big engine in a car and they think it is a sports car. This Mustang is probably modified though. I used to joke with my friends that my old 1750 was 50 years ahead of the drum brakes, push rods and heavy US inspired Fords and Holdens in Australia :)
+John Honey you're totally right and yes the 105-chassis were indeed extremely modern for their time.. Disc brakes all round and coil springs all round when they were introduced in the early 60s. 5-speed gearbox with syncros and everything. All aluminium engine. Truly masterful cars!
Very good pilot, very efficient. Turning in early pays off. Once turned in a little bit too early : Blanchimont, last lap, but there was place enough to get wider on exit.
war mein 2. Autochen - in den frühen ´80ern - nach meiner 1600er Junior eine echte Steigerung - was für tolle Zeiten damals, hat massig Spaß bereitet das edle Teil - & was die heute nwohl WERT wäre....:::)))
OMG> I'm in love. I have four post 2001 Alfa's and never really liked the 'old' Alfa's. I've always been into 'British metal' from the '60's' so seeing an old Alfa sound like this!!!! Well seriously the difference between overhead cam and push-rod.. yeah I managed 200+hp out of my turbo charged Cooper S powered 1960 English 850 Deluxe (obviously heavily modified).. but it never sounded like this.. makes me want to go out and race in an ol' Alfa!!!
excellent handling !!! with a prosche against the wall and two rude people who did not let pass! but what was that unreachable yellow demon ??? a corvette c2 grand sport ??? Excellent fun and driving !!!!

Cast iron solid rear axle on leaf springs. Alfa was the best solid rear axle set up I ever drove. I gave my BMW friends hell trying to keep up in 2002tii (close) and 2800CS (faster in a straight line.)
I've had over 30 of these cars. Still got 6 and one has a F355 engine shortly being fitted. Man I love this stuff
The legend of Alfa Romeo will never die.
Superb video! Very clear shows how perfectly balanced the car is! Such a transparent handling!
I love the way it eats Porsches for breakfast!

@Sage Zayn it did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. I am so happy!

Special car, amazing pilot

Amazing driver driving an amazing car build by amazing mechanics.

It's already, and I want to continue watching.
Alfa Romeo 1750 gta-m is fantastic!
Beautiful car, very competitive. Congratulations to the driver, too!

the interior smell is a drug to me. it smells like ...alfa.
Of all the sizes this Jano designed twin cam came in 1750 was the best.

This looks so easy. Brilliant car, and great driving...
that last chicane at spa has to be one of the worst corners in motorsport
that red porsche was having some fun! beautiful to see in motion
two of the most beautiful cars ever made. GT and 911 possibly both around '70 version
That car just seems perfectly balanced. The engine seems powerful and sounds great! And the driver did a good job. Those Porsche 911 didn't have a chance. The only one it couldn't catch.. was the yellow GTAM at the end

nice run...but don't think the gearing is correct for this circuit

MrPuntatacco
Amateur here... Why don't I hear him blipping the throttle on downshifts?
che alfa!!!!
Better to take a driving course, inconsistent steering the apex, leasy gearchanges

you have divorced with 2nd gear
