thank you for inspiring me dawg im a senior in high school and i often feel unmotivated to practice cause i dont have anyone to push me but this stuff really makes me dive deeper into music ❤️
For me too, finding little challenges like this is the best way to keep me motivated in my practice. I have a list of riffs/ solos parts to learn. The best is to choose some that are hard enough, so you have to spend time playing slow and finding your way through the challenge, but short and easy enough, so you can kinda play it slow in one practice session. A couple of bar from this solo can be perfect!

Thanks a lot! It’s a tough solo indeed, but I do think that it’s actually easier to transcribe than his solo from 2022 for example. That one has more intricated rythmes and uncommon vocabulary, where as this one is more challenging technically, but uses simpler vocabulary (doubles, singles, grouping of 3…)
The 2022 solo is gonna need some time to transcribe haha…

serious question but how do you make money as a drummer? Is it mostly coming from gigs? I’m looking to pursue this career when I am older thanks!
That’s of course a very difficult question. Unless you have the chance to get a gig with a very succesful band or artist, you have to find your balance.
Right now, a important part of my incomes comes from teaching drums, and the rest from gigs.
But this balance can always change with time!
