    Rod/reel combo with fishing kit as an emergency setup ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxntWMOZsO1Zfv-pdn_XuffEtNkTYAYu4Z recommend but started to use this every day. The rod is thick and seems durable. I keep it neatly tucked into a regular backpack all the time with my fishing gear, and can grab it anytime, put it on my back and go anywhere. I just read in another review that the rod length below the reel is adjustable as well, so I will try that too for even more portability. Probably the best setup I've ever owned. I lost the cap for the eyelets, but no big deal since I still have the black cloth sheath that came for the pole and I use that. Very portable and high quality.

    There are at least 10 comments that have been posted asking where this spot is. There is a reason fisherman don’t “spot burn”, or give up there locations. Just imagine if they said where they were and everyone asking where it was showed up? It’d get fished out and ruin it for everyone. I’ve actually fished this exact spot and it’s tiny, especially dependent on the tide. Do your own research as to where fish are and reap the benefits, just as these guys have done.

      Research literally means asking other fishermen where good spots are. Some of us live too far away to go saltwater fishing every weekend. We ask for information to make those rare trips worth the time and expense.

    Leopard shark... yummy ! We harvested about a 5/6 pounder an cubed the meat in small pieces, wrapped up in tinfoil with butter, lemon garlic and let the cubes simmer while we ate our Calico Bass fish tacos. None of had ever eaten a Leopard shark so we were tentative (early 90's), but we knew at that point we had been ignoring some great eating shark during our dives ! Angel shark also very tasty.

    Local fisherman here; Leopard sharks DO NOT pee through their skin. They are vertebrates, they have kidneys and a urinary track. This misconception, however, stems from the fact that they have a high Urea content in their blood plasma. Lots guys soak the meat in milk overnight to hep leech it out but I've had them fresh like this and never had an issue with the quality.Great vid, thanks for sharing.

    Really sad to see that someone cut its stinger and tail off. These rays can dissolve the hook in their mouths so if it really comes down to it you may as well cut the line and leave the hook. Don't maim the fish

    • @draggy76
      @draggy76 5 років тому +1

      Why not, people do it with sharks all the time with their fins and no one really seems to really care enough to actually do anything... At least the flapflap gets to live, even if disabled.

    • @jacksongould4263
      @jacksongould4263 5 років тому +31

      draggy76 it’s actually illegal in many countries to just take the shark fin so clearly people care. Idk why you’d even argue this, the Ray needs the tail and stinger for defense and to get bigger food so you’re essentially consigning it to die by cutting off the stinger and tail. It’s so easy to unhook these guys without hurting them, I’ve done it literally hundreds of times since I was about 10. I know you’re just trying to get a rise out of me but really, that’s your argument
