i can definitely see a business in this if you guys ever think about going into this. Imagine it: -you create your own charter -people board your boat to catch fish like any other charter -but you create dynamite dishes like this with the catches they made I can imagine people booking spots on your boat just to be in your chef presence. Fully booked for months.
The great thing about this video isn't just how amazing Jocelyn is with fishing or the amazing way of Taku preparing that beautiful yellowtail, it's really how aprreciative and humble Taku and Jocelyn are with their fans! Great video but greater people
I just love your work Tako, such an amazing and unique (and talented) way of treating your catch. Predictably people are lined up to invite you to do your thing.and as usual your amazing partner is never treated as anything other than equal. The guys are so humble too. All round great episode.
What a great day out by Catalina! I've been in the bay area for about 40 years now, but I grew up in LA, so I know what you mean about the nice weather down there. That part I really miss sometimes although I prefer the mild climate of the bay area over all. Every video you make really delivers Taku. I loved seeing Jocelyn land that yellowtail like a pro! You have a real keeper there Taku and I don't mean the fish. Great to see cool guys shoot you an invite too. Can't wait for your next vid!
Taku ur content is so badass! Keep it up! Not many people can pull of stunning cinematography, vloging, and top tier plating while on a kayak or a rocking boat!
The catching part is fun to watch, but the food prep... Anyone else jealous of his knife skills and knives (in the best possible way)? And Jocelyn's smile says it all, great vid.
Another great video. The catching was thrilling but really got my attention was how talented the guy was with the gaff ....not an easy tool to use! Joselyn was really into it LOL no way was that tuna getting loose. KUDOS Jos!!!!
I gave you crap for the non-stop eating of oysters in Alaska before your wife could get one, but i see now how much encouragement and praise you constantly give her.
Swords (katana) are to take people’s lives away. Kitchen knives (houchou) are to nourish people’s lives. Interestingly the same smiths make them (the former in time of war, the latter after).
I really like your videos... came back from a tiring day at work. Watch your fishing videos and cook/ sashimi the fish is really satisfying and relaxing. You made my day. Cheers
Such a great collab, would love to see more if possible. The yellowtail dish looked superb! Ric and Kirk are such great and friendly host putting you and Jocelyn on a good bite.
Awesome job joss I so miss fishing I’m from tx and me and my wife just moved down here from Buffalo New York so I need that .. so to see you guys fish is so rewarding so thank you!!!
I love sushi! This is a wonderful video in every way. Good genteel people, no bad language, beautiful fishes, delectible end product. I wish I were there with you. Thank you!
Pretty active spot you folks ! Couldn't be better/fresher than boat caught and filet'd Sushimi. I was looking for some soy and Wasabi but it looks like you got a good combo on the dipping sauces. Nice to have met Rick and Kirk on a bigger boat for easier prep and comfort. Good show...
Can’t wait for the next trip with these guys they seemed super humble to have you both it’s not everyday u get to have a chef make u a nice sashimi on a boat with a beautiful background awesome video!
My favorite youtuber! Keep up the great content!! Been trying to buy a outdoor chef life shirt, but my size is sold out, hopefully the merch will be restocked soon :)
that's why japanese cuisine is up there right now and has been for a while. tokyo doesn't have the most three-starred michelin restaurants in the world for nothing.
Man that looked good! You and Jocelyn are such bad asses! There is nothing more than I want to fish with you guys and have Taku make some sushi out of the catch!
Taku!! Welcome to the LA/OC area! I fished Catalina & San Diego stuff my whole life. You will get your Yellowtail next time just use light line 15-20lb. test and a small hook. Make sure you feed your livebait line, the farther away it is from the boat the better you will get bit. Hope this helps! - Chi from OC (714)
Awesome Tuna guide tours, Taku you literally made A sweat citrus candy fruit flavor yellowfin tuna. The one person I know that can whip something to an amazing dish in the last minute. Awesome battle with the tuna Jocelyn.
Since you are the outdoor chef it’d be cool if you did some tutorials on outdoor skills like tips and tricks on how to cook with a charcoal grill or campfire, how to fish, for more variety on the channel? Love the videos
Epic video 🔥, yellowtail are some of the hardest fighting fish. Next time you have to come down to San Diego and pull on some bluefin/yellowfin! Would make for an awesome catch and cook!
Super stoked on all your vids, but this one is my new favorite!! Just fished Catalina last week and got a couple smaller YT and made poke. Definitely going to have to try your recipe next! Well done to you and your girlfriend!!🤙👊🙌
Have to try this recipe, looks so good, we have a very similar if not identical fish, called yellowtail kingfish, caught a lot of them on slow jigging, very good fighter, well done, Taku san, keep safe and healthy!
That was beautiful! Watching you prepare fish is a privilege. I love that you showed the collar because a lot of people throw out fish collars, like with walleye for example, but I think that's as crazy as throwing out chicken wings because they have bones.
Love your footage.. Your explanations and patience is what makes me keep watching all your videos. Super random non fishing question. Catalina is known for UFO’s any chance you’ve seen some unexplained lights at night around that area?

That's not his boat. I don't think he's from So Cal. Edit: the Japanese guy that is. That is Kirk and Ric's boat.
@@Briguy1027 I didn't say anything about that being his boat or doing it in socal. It's a general pitch.
@@Briguy1027 WE know it is not his boat dipsh!t.
@@thai33oz I'm not going to reply to that ass that insults people. But reading your original comment it sounded a lot to me like it was his boat.
@@Briguy1027 I feel ya on not replying back. No need to waste energy on negative people.
whats more impressive is that hes preparing all of this on a rocking boat.
Id say whats more impressive is that he's still eating it raw after being in the beating sun for so long, that takes an iron gut
@@chrislawes7760 The citrus helps a lot with that part
Nah, her catch was most impressive.
Maurice Bao that's becuase it so calm

That was absolutely awesome watching her fight that yellowtail! Those plates looked so friggin good too
Such a good fish, more grunt pound for pound than a marlin, bloody good vid mate
The legend himself!
Is there a potential NZ trip coming up Taku and Jocelyn where you would colab with Josh?! That would be MEAN!

Way to go Jocelyn, you nailed it girl 👍
Big love from the south of France 😘
When the guy's in the boat realize they have a chef on-board.
Joz was smiling the whole fight. Couldn’t help but feel excited for her haha. Great video!
Cool to see Dennis Quaid invited you two on his boat, real recognize real. Another nice video, keep it up!
Awesome Jocelyn! Wow so much fun to watch you all fishing!
This couple is pure gold. The adventures they go on and the dishes he creates is just mindblowing
Taku ur content is so badass! Keep it up! Not many people can pull of stunning cinematography, vloging, and top tier plating while on a kayak or a rocking boat!
Its amazing how fast a 20 minute video can go when youre enjoying the content.
Dudes killing the UA-cam game with ever upload. Kudos to taku for doing what he loves man
Joselyn on a yellowtail brought a huge smile to my face. Thanks guys.
The catching part is fun to watch, but the food prep... Anyone else jealous of his knife skills and knives (in the best possible way)? And Jocelyn's smile says it all, great vid.
One of the reason why i love your videos is how you clean your fish..!! nice, clean n professional.. 👊🏻

She was so excited 😆. Love the mood in this show.
You should have seen the smile on my face 😂
This is one of your best episodes. I love the new drone shots and the nonstop fish action!
Such a simple dish.. I love these simple ingredients you add to the delicate fish. Keep it up with the sushi content taku 🤙🏿
That's not a knife he's using to scale that fish, that's a damn sword.
its just a yanagi lol

That bite! Just as I was getting hungry for sashimi watching this, the skipper walks through the shot with a bag of chips haha love it
Jocelyn killed it ! Fisherwoman rock !

So Sweet 😎 im very jealous!!! Great video👍🏽👍🏽 and you got a comment from the kiwi bushman awesome! TAKU always making us wish we were TAKU! 😂
Awesome video! We live in LA but always go to travel to little lakes. So cool to see an ocean video outside of LA
First time I've seen scales removed like that. Its a clever technique, I'll give it a go, but probably won't get the same result lol
bruce henderson he makes it look so easy. I’ll be using a cutting glove before I attempt to even think about doing this lol.
yea but then he fillet the fish without skin in the end
mg23 the fillet had skin what do you mean?
Need a super super sharp knife so either get a high quality or sharpen a decent one

Taku that yellow tail platter was brilliant! Now I want some yellow tail sashimi.
Enjoyed watching the fishing, and watching filet the fish and setting up the plate. Now I am craving yellowtail.
Good job on the catch Joselyn. Nice job on the sashimi Taku. Yum.
He has outdone himself...AGAIN!!! Fantastic video!!!
Nice Catch Jocelyn 👊🏼😎🤙🏼!! 🔥🔥🔥 Vid Taku, 🍻’s guys from Fresno Ca

That looks so good. Hamachi is one of my all time favorite fish. Drooling right now. I need a boat. Good stuff guys!
California yellowtail actually tastes quite different compared to hamachi, in a good way, imho. Not as oily.
Gotwired I definitely am going to put it on my to eat list! Thanks!
@@waialaepaseuth9080 yellowtail is great, but the best california native species for sashimi is white sea bass, imho.
Gotwired Thanks for the recommendation. Another fish going on the fish to eat list.
Such a good video! Trip looked so epic aswell as the sashimi! Cheers you two🍻🤙
