- The downpipe install was a PITA!!! 2018 Duramax Diesel Colorado gets a full exhaust including downpipe, single straight through muffler, and a tune.

Just wanted to say thanks, My friend ordered the kit and installed yesterday. The brand is not by pro flow any longer, He received the p1 race exhaust (i’m pretty sure it’s the same company) and they added a bend so the exhaust didn’t touch the cross bar. Installing took me all day 😂, Getting the cat out was was the worst, and I had to drop the transmission to get the particulate filter out, but the performance gains are totally worth it. Feels like I, I meant he 😂, got a brand new truck again!!! Thanks again

My dads exhaust fell off right off the dealer lot lol. The power and fuel mileage it gets is insane for this little guy. Hope to buy one myself soon

I just bought one Monday. A few of my friends that are diesel enthusiasts have already offered to delete, tune, and upgrade the turbo for free (case of beer, well, cases) just to see what it’ll do. Having wealthy friends that have $150k+ rigs and shit loads of spare parts doesn’t hurt 🤣🤣🤣

I'm about to buy a Colorado ZR2 and was thinking about the Duramax, but I figured there would be a lot of mods for the 2.8 and there's not. So gonna go with a new ZR2 with the 4cyl turbo. 310hp and 430ft lbs stock.....should be able to get quite a few more 🐎 outta that

That straight through design is quieter than a straight pipe much more than you think and the tone will be different also

straight pipe sounds like a civic on these trucks. Muffler or adding a resonator will clean up the sound

Thought about deleting 17 2.8, but how do you get by the yearly inspection? You said there are no codes, but what about the 6 or seven sensors in the exhaust system. Very informative video. I like it!
If you "d word" your truck, it will probably fail inspection depending on where you live.

How technical is it to read the codes and upload new tunes to the ECM. I've got the same truck, in Canada of course, and am really wanting to take the leap. I just worry about screwing something up aye.

But hey, black particulate is reaaallly scary yet somehow it’s supposedly worse than ammonia vapor. Riiiight………. Hey great video. I’ve got a ZR2 diesel just like that one. I’ve been looking for an exhaust to make it louder but couldn’t find one, only dpf backs. My question is what did you do with the sensors and the def fluid that gets injected? It’s a mess down there

Yeah I wanted to know this as well, read the reply, looked through the videos and without watching everyone couldn't find what I was looking for either. A straight answer from him would have been 👌 but guess not, all about the views now days.
@@jarodkonecny9715 He did say that he saw a several MPG/HP/Torque increase after the install of the delete/tune. But when he put the larger tire/wheel combo on, the gains went away.

No towing yet. It towed fine before but I’m curious how it will now. It doesn’t smoke much but under load who knows.

Does the exhaust sound better in person? Sounds like the GoPro does it no justice.
I really like the sound at idle and low revs. Higher revs it sounds kinda Honda like.

Hi, love your videos, really concerning buying this kit for my 2016 Z71, powertrain warranty is almost finished. I was wondering if your Canadian friend noticed any difference in the oil. I change my oil , and after 5 min of driving’s, it’s black. My brother blew his engine on his 2011 Fix Or Repair Daily F350, from a clogged particulate filter. That’s my primary reason I want to delete my off road Canadian truck. 😂

I just don’t know if an intake is worth it. I don’t think it’s going to add any power.
@@matt13ross with other intakes yea. I would probably just do a drop in. S&B actually does a lot better testing then most people. They do a good job of giving the benefits of a stock box but as if it had been engineered for performance. There have been quite a few reviews on it showing the mpg and power gains. Now if we’re are talking K&N or AFE, I would do a drop in and gut the intake pipe of muffler.

@@matt13ross I understand. On my 5.9 Cummins I have a drop filter and a tube from air box to turbo. Cost me about 150 - 170 and dose better than any aftermarket. If you find anything, let me know. I’m always down to learn something new.

Who tuned the Colorado? I have one and I had a full straight back muffler done and now I have dpf warming and def warnings.
You can't remove that stuff without tuning lol. But I don't talk about that stuff online so.....
How long did it take to do the all system swap
How hard is the install? Do you think this can be done in a parking lot? My truck broke down 1000 miles away with def issues.
Could probably install it in a parking lot. I'm guessing it would take all day though in the hot sun.

Ok, brother, bought the flow pro turbo back complete exhaust, and I already had the duramax tuner (with the live hook up). I've already tuned my ZR2 and I getting ready to install the complete exhaust. The problem I have is, when I email the tuner company for help, the stated they don't do the delete.
Can you help out with this

Yea it's what came with Flopro. You'll have to do some research on tuning for these trucks.
how did you get the tune, looking online at their shop and says they dont ship in the us, also looking at the exhuast on ebay, only comes with the pipes , no tune. i need to do this, turbo just went in my diesel z71 and all the sensors with it, goint to cost $4k to get it fixed stock.... if i can upgrade for a way less amount of $ i want to do that!!

Was this kit from hd diesel supply? If so I have the same one and cant get programmer to work. Company is not very good to work with as far as tech support. I called and was told they dont have enough time to walk me through that I need to send an email. Did you have any issues.

I have a cat back 3" on my colorado (holden but same motor) Unfortunately here in new zealand a full delete would make the truck unroadworthy (emissions) 😔 but man does yours sound great. I also installed a snorkel and combined with the cat back it sounds pretty good now. I also noticed a power increase but that might be due to placebo. Looking foward to tuning the punchy little baby duramax

Heat shield has to come off and you access most of the bolts through the fender well. Either way be ready for cut and bruised hands lol.

Dropped the crossmember. It wasn’t hard.

Geez that pipe is small, what’s the standard size.
This is 3", which is all that's needed on a 2.8L. Stock may also be 3" or 2.5"
