Omg I just looked this up, literally yesterday! the whole house was wondering which culture had the most ancient God specifically for squirrels. Apparently 'god' was a strong word but it's still an amazing legend.
I'm sure someone has already thought about this, but in my opinion. The love potion is meant to help you farm gold. Trolls are a great source of getting gold when you're low and we know this update is all about being able to spend your goal. Seems like they were smart enough to put in away to easily farm gold if you were having a hard time and wanted to use this resource
I assumed it helps speed up taming animals since it shows those hearts. Or perhaps temporarily change the 'frightened' status of an animal that is being tamed by the player.
Adding more items to put into your inventory also means less slots to collect supplies. Still waiting for another row of backpack slots or belt pouches or bandoliers for carrying more items.
I don't entirely agree, A lot of these items are maintence items, youvdont need them while out. Some of the features even make it more convenient for carrying less, like the new foods
@@uaQt Not sure how everyone else plays but the players on my server tend to explore a lot and also farm materials for crafting/building at the same time and the ability to carry more items would be fantastic. Dealing with a cart is often times impractical to down right impossible unless you use a hoe to smooth out a road which takes far longer than necessary. If people like to do the minimalist style playing, more power to them. I dislike making 50 runs back and forth harvesting/gathering supplies when I have to lug them half way across the map to a ship or whatever. Just my playing style. Also I wasn't asking for another entire backpack worth of slots. Just a single row worth which could be in the form of a belt pouch or bandolier. Perhaps don't make the armor and weapons take up backpack slots. That right there would be an immense boon. But as I said playing styles vary. Cheers!

@@erikmann3640I almost always set up portals unless it’s ore. But, now with the new portal it’s not even a problem anymore. I’m not saying plop a portal down everywhere but set up a small base in central locations where you are farming. Shack with workbench, bed, and portal. A good backup for the event of death as well. Otherwise before the new portal I actually cleared an entire river of rocks so I could sail clear through the landmass I was on from one coast to the other transporting ore from different biomes and islands back to my home base. Not fast but it was fun. Although it was only viable because I was lucky with the seed and the river was wide and deep enough through the whole way save for some rocks along the way and the mouth on one side had to be heavily marked for night navigation.
Ashvine seeds grow just upwards, Ivy seeds grow upwards and sideways, I've planted just one on the side of my building and it took over the whole wall almost. Might be a bug, but it does say "These unassuming seeds can grow into vines that might overtake entire buildings."
If you put ash wood pieces across the building or space you wish to cover, it will grow sideways. I put ash dividers around an oak tree and lookout tower. It grew all around. Looks rather impressive.
This game by far has best quality of life game mechanic. Sadly I don't have any desire to play again after completing the first run. The map size and travel is a chore.
The new world settings allow you to set portal with items on. You still gotta sail somewhere the first time but you don't have to sail back and forth. No idea why people still host servers with no portals or maps, sounds horrible lol

Really nice overview. Thank you. Did you experiment with the Berserkir Mead? Do resistances still override weaknesses. That would make the Berserkir Mead with Bonemass power quite interesting. Using three HP foods together with the 80% block stamina reduction might enable you to block and parry a lot of damage, if that reduction is applied before the blocking calculation. You mean... Eating feasts as solo player? They work like any food item (takes one food slot) but need to be placed on table, one feast on table gives 10 portions you can eat until it goes to 0. And they last 50min so you don't need to carry 3 food items with you all the time. And you can combine normal food with feasts too, like eating from 2 feasts and eating 1 normal food for desired stat (HP, Stamina, Eitr).

Dog...t update! I fail to see, 1 why an early access game has a ptb, (other than to push youtubers into hype mode) when the whole game is a ptb, 2 this update is not bringing anything substantial...
Look, I’m a very critical person of this game tbh because there’s a lot they leave to be desired sometimes. But this update actually adds some really good features tbh. Not every update for every game has to constantly add massive new content or zones or bosses. Simply having skills for cooking, farming, and crafting now is actually a pretty cool minor addition. Same with the feasts. I actually think the eitr feasts are pretty impactful to make a melee mage hybrid more viable. I do kind of agree with the ptb statement though. It feels a bit redundant for an early access game, but at the same time it’s nice that they do it so most potential game breaking bugs get ironed out before most players play the update. I always wait for the full release so my save doesn’t get scuffed by any random bugs.
"Early access" ceased to be synonymous with "open beta" years ago. The expectation is that these games will be relatively stable for the people that are funding development by buying the game during early access. This is why there are stable and unstable branches. Players hate losing progress. This means that more work has to go into making sure there is a stable version to keep their community happy... At the cost of increased development time. And thus you have the Public Test Branch that has the warning that you should back up your save before entering it.
I'd be on board if the feasts were an upgrade, but they really aren't. A food that lasts 50 minutes is only good if all three last that long. 75 health and stamina in the ashlands is a downgrade to even the entry level ashlands foods
@@ringofasho7721 well that’s not entirely true, even just one lasting 50m is still one less thing to worry about for awhile, I do agree that the Ashlands feast is fairly disappointing since you’d probably want to avoid balanced stat foods for the Ashlands as you’ll likely be more specialized for what you want by then and you will want to maximize your capabilities for the harsh area, perhaps it’ll get tweaked a bit
More carry weight is good, but really need more inventory space too, and maybe dedicated gear/equipment slots to free up some inventory
