It's clearly doable, but take your Time, advance step by step but don't rush anything and, most importantly, what's behind you IS BEHIND YOU. Don't go back, otherwise New mobs would spawn. I advise you level three upgraded mistwalker sword and a shield, or with Krom because of the brutal dmg it does. Still try to take down with your bow the spawner from distance because it Can get troublesome with them.
@@Firespark81 I've been solo playing this game for 800 hours now and haven't touched magic a single time, ashlands is easily doable with sword and shield
What Munin says is absolutely true, we have to use everything we've learned and prepared for to stand a chance in the Ashlands. We must wage war. Sneak attack then retreat to your bogus fortifications. Set traps like the bear traps, turrets, or a pit of the new ashwood spikes. Allow the larger enemies to kill the smaller ones.
I did manage to get there with my friend after killing eikthyr ,just spent 3 longships, one karve and a bunch of portals built on rocks for checkpoint...and a lot...a lot of preparation and luck
if you're going full magic build, 2 Eitr food + HP food (not stam), you will have to rebubble so much, you need the HP, there's just too many archers, even if you doge a lot.
Little did you know the valkyrie's melee attacks can damage the fortress's stone walls including the tower! Also i feel like the fortresses might not actually be a good base location as in my experience, it seems the valkyries tend to spawn near them frequently after you take one. Im 100% on this so if someone cares to elaborate that would be cool.
I did the starting base like in survival normal mode and yeah it was tricky but it can be done. did take some time and couple of bangs of the keyboard but did it. then died couple of times on the shore and was like "yep im done cant beat this fuckers" and quit xDD
I dunno, I think an easier fob is just what I did: I just landed on shore on a spot where no enemies were particularly close to me, found the nearest tower, climbed up the stairs, and put down my workbench and portal at the top of the tower. Despite it being out in the open, I've yet to experience any vultures noticing me when I'm up there, and none of the enemies can climb the stairs, so it's perfectly safe, and you don't need to really build anything other than the portal itself.
I’ve started exploring the ashlands and used wisplight torches to mark safe paths to run so I didn’t accidentally wander into water when running from enemies
Forgot the mention the Warlocks in those bases and the Valkyrie that seem to spawn a few hundred meters out. I tend to get at least 3 warlocks every time and they continuously spawn the green skele not to mention the green death that will rip right through the protection bubble in less than a sec. I take them out before even entering. Also, the archers and others on top of the wall will jump outside I would also highly suggest once one has taken over the base that a shield generator be the first priority as you are safe from the skele but not safe from the Valkyrie or the random meteors falling from the sky. All in all great tips. I normally skip making the steps and just use the hoe. to climb all the way up.
Nothing in the game jumps. They get knocked or pushed outside the castle walls. I never found the warlocks to be an issue. If anything I'm the base is an issue just build the stairs further back. I had to cut dealing with the Valkyrie from this video to save time will cover them in the next one.
@Firespark81 - digging under the walls of the center walls in a fort has been patched out :( Also may have found some uses for the staff of fracturing - aim up and it's a staff of fireworks. The other I was using the fact that they arc to carpet bomb the interior of a fort over a long period of time (just to be sure) got the spawners and maybe the chests in the center and contents may have despawned while I was "making sure". Deadraiser makes decoys :D staff of embers is useful against lavablobs, voltures, and twitchers. Staff of embers also leaves a ground effect(fire) which adds damage to things that aren't immune- can also down trees and break logs down without noisy axe swinging -also gets lots of coal.
You can still dig under the walls actually, but now you have to dig all the way to max depth to get under them. Me and my friend were about to give up, but with my last hit I managed to reach the bottom and get under.
I've managed to dig under each central part of every fort I've entered so far (6?) and it's just a quicker way to get to the middle. They may have patched it, but it's still possible
A bit of a confusing part around 7:45 when sailing in and immediately start raising the ground, working with stone and building a portal close to the ground behind the spikes with some previously build off camera stone cutter and workbench or something? and later making a point to put a workbench on top of the construction, while there should already be one there.. .somewhere
I got a hard time docking in ashlands with my friends, i've hit several times stones, and by reaching the lands we were attacked by 2 sea serpents, Vultures and a spawner of fire skeletons we were not able to land, and my friend touch the water, he burn to death in less than a second, i've made an emergency portal in one of the stones to help him getting his stuff back while as a mage i've take down everything that i can
For the first blob may I know why you would hollow out the backside of the rock when you built your blob? because from what i observed i cant think of any reason to do this, why not just create the blob normally behind the rock without hollowing it?
I would actually say it's better than before for Mistlands because of the jump buff. But for Ashlands, I only use it to jump off Flametal and take it off right after

why use the omelets for stamina food when the salads are exactly the same amount of stamina but cost no eggs? the salads are practically free as all of the mats are just plants you find (cloudberries, mistberries) or onions
because the omelet is also basically free, as chickens are breedable and lay eggs constantly, and jotunn puffs are a plant you can grow infinitely. while the salad is technically not infinitely replenishable
Chickens are one of the best animals to farm and there are some guides you can find on making, essentially, an egg factory that will quickly see you maxing out storage of eggs. If you don't want to mess around with game mechanics (I built one of the egg towers without dev commands, only using an understanding of the underlying logic) then, yes, the salads are definitely better food items for the cost.
Yes, you are correct. My mistake. Should not matter that much as the damage difference between 3 and 4 is 2 for staff of frost and 6 fire damage for embers.
I have cut the part that says you can get to level 4 so now it just say make sure they are maxed out. Change should take affect in a few hours. Thanks for catching that.
PTR only but likely we will get main release very soon since its been a week already and they will want it out before they go on summer break. Likely to be out within next few weeks.
completely unneccessary to build such a complicated landing base we have our portal directly at the shore and it only got destroyyed once when we kited enemies speficially to it. As soon as you are through the portal / out of sight it does NOT get attacked so it will be just fine
Actually, because of the way Valheim handles resistances and weaknesses (they don't stack, the game just picks the strongest reistance and uses that), fire resistance barley wine completely negates the weakness to fire.
Sheesh. I hate that you can just dig under the main pillars instead of breaking down the door and using the tools they give you. lame. Hope they fix that and add a floor.
Going full magic in the ashland, only got an axe for wood, pickaxe for mining. I am having a great time in the ashland going full magic, so much fun😁 Someone i watch on twitch focus mele and is just having a really bad time😂
Maybe if you're scared of kamikaze karve runs to the spires followed by jumping to feather caping to shore.... It took like 50 minutes and was utterly terrifying...
The tip about cheezing the fortress spawners would make the game lame. Waging war on the fortresses is one of the most enjoyable aspects of ashlands. I sincerely hope the devs counter-act this border-line cheating tactic as it really does cheapen the game.
Good for the first fortress as it saves time and you can make a stone portal for the first flatmetal, thus enabling you to create siege weapons without having to travel back to center island. Using them efficiently.
Raising skills without dying is easy and there are lots of ways to farm them. On top of that if you find yourself dying a lot I suggest playing on a world setting that reduces the amount of skill points lost when you die. Unless you are just constantly dying raising a skill to 40 should be easy. That's about where they want the average player by late game, high 30's mid 40's.
@@mayena5735 6:58 if you look top left under the toolbar, he disables "no build cost" while in dev mode, so he's got the debugmode turned on and probably used it to build stuff, he didn't even have a stonecutter and put the stone walls lol. He is unfortunately cheating to make this guide.
getting ggrausten is very easy I have created my own grausten and Ashwood stake fortress near the coast with about 200 grausten to spare. It is very easy to get.
I think the devs should implement an AI (call it Odin if you like) who observes how you play the game. If you are found guilty of being lame, he should 'fire a warning shot', and if you don't get the hint, then when your character wakes up he should be standing at the base of your bed.... followed by your grizzly death (and the destruction of your bed)
Just because people play the way u don't like doesn't mean they should be punished, its a game, let people play the way they want to, if cheesing the game is the way they want to play then so be it. If the devs cared then they would patch these issues.
I mean he did provide us with a lot of very strong information- what does it matter if he plays with commands? That does not have anything to do with the info we get from him. sure its not the most challenging way to play, but hes not gonna make a full survival world where a lot can go wrong- thats just not good if you want to perform good in the video when you want to show people how to propperly do it
I definitely do, I just build them much higher from the water. His other strategies work too. Dev commands are a matter of convenience, as a guidemaker... Why is this entire comment section 14 year olds. Isn't Valheim 16+? Shite parents abound.
@@HeilSolmade a lot of unfortunate assumptions there mate. I am a console player so a lot of “convenience” isn’t available to me. Building the fob he made in the video would require a stonecutter and a decent amount of materials. I am also 29.

Is it? I cant manage staying alive with my magic build even with elemental and blood magic leveled to around 60. Do you guys know a video that demonstrates magic tactics? It dosent seem to deal enogh damage until my eitr is depleted. With bow, most mobs can be staggered, loxes or askvins do not need more than 3-5 shots from Veeeeeery far away... and the shield even with 700dmg capacity wont take more than one hit. After that, casting the next shield takes too long, one cant run and it costs health. Im feeling so vulnerable with magic without the benefits of the dmg. Any tips or sorces? :-)
Don't use a FOB. Just go to war with the biome. Play the game it was supposed to be played. If you can't land on the ashlands shore and survive, you probably shouldn't be in the Ashlands.
A part of survival is using your brain and preparing ahead of time. The game provides all of the tools needed, so it is playing as intended. But go off, Rambo.
A lot of vids are showing pre-patch. I do ptb solo and A lot has changed, No not easy but also not like many have shown. Just saying before you write it off give it a chance.
Just follow this guide and it's super easy. I tested every strat in this video multiple times not in admin or god. It works well and trivializes most of the content.
Try this - edit your world customization settings and change the difficulty to normal - and if it's already at normal change any other setting and save then give Ashlands another go. I think I encountered a bug with an upgraded world that made the difficulty totally unplayable, even in god mode - my world was set to hard before the upgrade - I dropped it to normal and Ashlands got what feels like 10x easier.

because the omelet is also basically free, as chickens are breedable and lay eggs constantly, and jotunn puffs are a plant you can grow infinitely. while the salad is technically not infinitely replenishable
Omelettes are far easier to farm when you have chickens.
Chickens are one of the best animals to farm and there are some guides you can find on making, essentially, an egg factory that will quickly see you maxing out storage of eggs.
If you don't want to mess around with game mechanics (I built one of the egg towers without dev commands, only using an understanding of the underlying logic) then, yes, the salads are definitely better food items for the cost.
can you start making content for Valheim for the hardest difficulty? I cant find a single youtuber who covers hard difficulty
Because a lot of them can't handle it and resort to using devcommands to get past hard spots.

WAIT ASHLANDS IS OUT???
Test server yes
U can't reach tier 4 weapons before the ashlands :D
my ice mace was lvl 4 before going to ashland
Yes, you are correct. My mistake. Should not matter that much as the damage difference between 3 and 4 is 2 for staff of frost and 6 fire damage for embers.
@@Firespark81 how? All needed workbench upgrades require flametal or valkyrie feathers
To go up to level 4 you need the celestial feathers to upgrade the magic table. The maximum to go to the Ashlands at the beginning is level 3
I have cut the part that says you can get to level 4 so now it just say make sure they are maxed out. Change should take affect in a few hours. Thanks for catching that.
you dont need a special boat
made it there with the longboat, it works:)
Is Ashlands out on live? I thought it was on public test only?
PTR only but likely we will get main release very soon since its been a week already and they will want it out before they go on summer break. Likely to be out within next few weeks.
released yesterday
Dudes just sending people to their deaths lol
Anybody know when Ashlands will be out of PTB???
Today
completely unneccessary to build such a complicated landing base we have our portal directly at the shore and it only got destroyyed once when we kited enemies speficially to it. As soon as you are through the portal / out of sight it does NOT get attacked so it will be just fine
Definitely do not use feathered cloak. It's been nerfed after this video and it will severely weaken your fire resistance, even with the potion.
Actually, because of the way Valheim handles resistances and weaknesses (they don't stack, the game just picks the strongest reistance and uses that), fire resistance barley wine completely negates the weakness to fire.
im pretty sure that 95% of all players cheated to get through ashlands
I only did for a workbench since I wasn’t going back for 10 wood
"Cheated" :3
Nice video, too bad it won’t help my permadeath run 😐
fallen valkery can do aoe through the wall...
Warriors and archers wya 🗿
Sheesh. I hate that you can just dig under the main pillars instead of breaking down the door and using the tools they give you. lame. Hope they fix that and add a floor.
the footage in this video is outdated.
it got patched.
@@ahmed_4202 It definitely has NOT been patched yet. Just saw it done literally today.
@@ahmed_4202Did 3 today. Definitely not patched
@@ahmed_4202some goober who doesn’t play, it is not patched
I didnt notice that ashlands got released already xd. I am halfway through midlands
Going full magic in the ashland, only got an axe for wood, pickaxe for mining. I am having a great time in the ashland going full magic, so much fun😁
Someone i watch on twitch focus mele and is just having a really bad time😂
ngl im tired of these tips videos that tell you things like "you will need the drakkar to get there" that's not a tip just a fact of progression.
Maybe if you're scared of kamikaze karve runs to the spires followed by jumping to feather caping to shore....
It took like 50 minutes and was utterly terrifying...
you actually dont need the drakkar xd
i drove there in the longboat, repaired the ship once with a workbench on a rock and easily reached the coast
its turret, not turrent :)
The tip about cheezing the fortress spawners would make the game lame. Waging war on the fortresses is one of the most enjoyable aspects of ashlands. I sincerely hope the devs counter-act this border-line cheating tactic as it really does cheapen the game.
Artillery strike.
Just dont do it
Good for the first fortress as it saves time and you can make a stone portal for the first flatmetal, thus enabling you to create siege weapons without having to travel back to center island. Using them efficiently.
Nearly 3k hours in game, highest skill is run and jump at 38, pffft.
I have 1300+ hours and my highest skill is close to 100.
So i guess you play very different than me 😂
Raising skills without dying is easy and there are lots of ways to farm them. On top of that if you find yourself dying a lot I suggest playing on a world setting that reduces the amount of skill points lost when you die. Unless you are just constantly dying raising a skill to 40 should be easy. That's about where they want the average player by late game, high 30's mid 40's.
@@Firespark81 It's fine, crappy skills haven't actually stopped me progressing. maybe when I've unlocked everything, I can try not to die, lol.
your using Ashlands items in building that "Fob" thing.. if anyone is going into Ashlands they are not going to have those building pieces.
He just hacked into the jagged rocks in the ashlands to make room for the fob, that's where he got the grausten from.
Character edit your skills to 100
I think the devs should implement an AI (call it Odin if you like) who observes how you play the game.
Why even bother showing this with dev commands enabled. Not even playing the game properly, and then expect people to follow a "guide"?
His game guides are about cheesing most the time.
I mean he did provide us with a lot of very strong information- what does it matter if he plays with commands? That does not have anything to do with the info we get from him. sure its not the most challenging way to play, but hes not gonna make a full survival world where a lot can go wrong- thats just not good if you want to perform good in the video when you want to show people how to propperly do it
How to beat ashlands: simply do not play ashlands
This is a guide for goobers
Cool, here you are watching this too
Would love to see a guide that isn’t using any dev commands. You can’t just build those fob things without them.
@@blakuss95 i have zero interest in console problems. His tips still work, even w/o cheating.. so, should work on consoles. Assumptions can easily be made if data is available. You may be 29, but you seem to have the mentality of someone half your age. Good, I guess? Age is a number, not a definition of experience or intellect, which brings us back to my correct assumptions.
@@HeilSolyou have zero data. So I’d say you’re basing everything off your misguided ego. Kinda sad really.
@@blakuss95 What you, yourself, said in your initial comment doesn't count as data? There are a number of things that can be derived from your statement, without bias. A strong, 29-year old brain can type a comment, but doesn't consider the statements data? Fair enough. Furthermore, have you read the majority of the other comments? Whiney, whingey, wimpy. Less a matter of ego, more of observation.
Magic is not OP. It's a fantastic first choice if you have no ashlands weapons though.
It's op and the lamest way to play the game buddy. If you use it you're 100% skilless
Cheese and cheat your way through the ashlands. Destroy the fun of the whole patch with these simple tricks
Don't use a FOB. Just go to war with the biome. Play the game it was supposed to be played. If you can't land on the ashlands shore and survive, you probably shouldn't be in the Ashlands.
Thats quite a mindset. Play how you want.
A part of survival is using your brain and preparing ahead of time. The game provides all of the tools needed, so it is playing as intended.
But go off, Rambo.
I got mad at this comment… then I proceeded to absolutely destroy my way through the beachhead, like a true Viking
This is a terrible take, please go play Donkey Kong Country
"play the game how it was supposed to be played" 🤓 🤓
first
Yea. Ashlands difficulty on solo is why I will stop playing Valheim. Looking at other games to waste my time.
A lot of vids are showing pre-patch. I do ptb solo and A lot has changed, No not easy but also not like many have shown. Just saying before you write it off give it a chance.
Just follow this guide and it's super easy. I tested every strat in this video multiple times not in admin or god. It works well and trivializes most of the content.
git gud
Try this - edit your world customization settings and change the difficulty to normal - and if it's already at normal change any other setting and save then give Ashlands another go. I think I encountered a bug with an upgraded world that made the difficulty totally unplayable, even in god mode - my world was set to hard before the upgrade - I dropped it to normal and Ashlands got what feels like 10x easier.
