    I usually stick a couple coins between the top guide and the cam gears with the chain on. It takes up the space between the guide and keeps the chain from being able to skip while you're putting the tensioners on.

    I have d same to build one day and I watch many videos, and I must confess that I still learned something new and I'm a fan bro. Keep up the good work. Mine is a k24z3 and I'm talking to Sone of S-1 to be able to install it in my crx awd build! He mentioned that it is easier to turbo and I will still have fun with the build. Much love bro.

    hello guys i'm from brazil and we have a lot of love for honda k series but we have problems getting cranks and spare parts they didn't come here many models make us sad but with the videos i'm more and more encouraged to stay and do the maintenance on mine k20z3 that I am currently preparing 250hp engine I want to reach 275hp at least thank you for the videos posted because I have learned a lot if you make the manual available with the tightening torque and everything you have on the engine thank you

    Or is there a difference?

    • @YoungStatic

  • @teamaxlestands

    Couple of quick questions - Are you using the K24 Oil pan? I did this on my NA build (K20 pump) in my civic and a reputable company here in Australia mentioned that the K24 and K20 steel pans are different. If you use the K24 one it sits really close to the K20 pump and they have seen oil starvation issues at high rpm. I found an RSX one at the junkyard and am going to swap it. Also on the PLM baffle - did you have to trim anything to get it on? I've got a blox one to go in when i do the pan and when checking if it fitted on my spare motor it slightly hit on one of the corners and needed slightly bending. Also worried that one of the cutouts might let too much oil through when using it with the steel pan. Thanks for the detailed vids, I'm checking everything i'm doing on my build to make sure its aligned with how you do it :)

    • @YoungStatic
      @YoungStatic  2 роки тому +1

      K24 and k20a2 pans are different. Aluminum vs steel. I do not know if the k24 and the k20a3 steel pans are the same though. My plm baffle did interfere with the oil pump, you can either just bend that corner of cut the baffle to clear. I cut mine. Also don’t have a clue if how close the bottom of the pan is to the pick up tube on the pump. But I can tell you I get about 90psi of oil pressure on start up. Warm up idling I’m somewhere between 43-45psi and Reving 80+

    • @teamaxlestands
      @teamaxlestands 2 роки тому

      @@YoungStatic Yeah that is very healthy oil pressure at start up and revving (both hot and cold). I know plenty of people running the K24 pan with K20 pump without any issues at all so i thought it was weird they mentioned it. Maybe just to sell more pans? I did double check and the little dots on the pickup were pretty close to the pain on the K24. Maybe its only an issue with really high revving K series where they are moving a heap of oil. Also lots of people hit their sumps on low cars and it wouldnt have to bend much to become a restriction.
