I'm truly enjoying this series Erin. I don't know how many "mature" ladies you mentor but I'd truly enjoy a segment of flaunting your style without looking like you are trying to be 30 again when you aren't:) It's a fine line to walk and a new feeling to always think while shopping "is this too young for me". This has been really a hurdle for me. Thanks Erin. Kat
That's so true. My friend gave me lots of her clothes but I just didn't look right or feel right in them. I felt bad about not wearing them and that helped me realise her style isn't my style. Although she looked good ! I didn't . Loved this series.
This was a great video and really important. It's so easy to see things on others that look adorable but you are just wasting your money if they don't suit your style. I love your style, Erin. You always look so elegant and beautiful! Thank you so much for doing this series. I have enjoyed it so much. Love, Melissa
Thank you SO much, Melissa... as always...I am most grateful for your support! One of these days we should do a collaboration!! Over 40, Over 60... xoxo
So true! I have a Pinterest board full of likes. Mostly outfits that look good on the wearer in the photo, and then I have a board that is for my style. I use that one for outfit inspiration.
Thank you so much for your videos! Not only they are really helpful but also watching them in the evening just takes my mind of other things like work, household stuff etc. Like being on a mini break! Really looking forward to then Wednesdays and Fridays !
Erin, where were you 15-20 years ago? You would have saved me from myself. This is GREAT!! Thank you. I await each video in this series with bated breath - seriously; and am yet to be disappointed.
I think "City Chic" would be another major style, like letter jackets, skinny jeans, cool and edgy, that sort of feel. I don't know I just feel like I don't fit in any of these styles you mentioned so I decided to create my own : p
Wonderful video! I'm in the midst of a "March Makeover" so this video series is perfect timing. I would describe my style as modern, effortless and chic - love a little edge too!
You've already got your words!! LOVE that, Nancy!! Great job. It's SO important to truly understand who you are and who you want to be. And, clearly you DO!
Very interesting topic!!! It's funny it reminded me of something my good friend would say when shopping together-she would pull something from the rack and say-This is a Lori shirt-or dress-whatever it was she new my style and what I'm drawn to.
Thank you! As I have commented before, your videos have helped my self-confidence in fashion incredibly. You give me basics and guidelines that I find work, and that I trust. Your videos and blog are a great enhancement to my life.
It would be awesome of you could do some videos on the proper fit for jeans, blazers, dress slacks, pencil/ankle pants, etc? Enjoying your Reboot series! Thanks!
This video has been a game-changer for me. It has really made me think about my style and take a closer look at my existing wardrobe. I have many pieces in my closet that I like, but end up collecting dust in the back of my closet because they really aren't my style. Thank you!!! - Lisa. :)
This is so true. I am in a classic and preppy category, I happen to have a navy a white ribbon belt on now. Lol But when I try something different like bohemian style which I love on other people, I feel strange in it. Like I don't feel comfortable. So I feel it's better to stay true to what you feel comfortable in. That way you don't have a lot of clothes in your closet that never get worn.
This is such a helpful series! I can't wait to see your closet edit. I really got tough with myself over the last year and for every new piece of clothing I purchased, I had to remove 2-3 pieces to donate. I stayed true to that over the last year and my closet looks so much better. Now if I could only do that with my shoes! Ha! Happy Weekend dear Erin! xoxo
love the series. I am still trying to figure out my style type...and I am 50..lol..you are so right, people do make an impression on how you work..I struggle with that..but it is how the business world is. I find it fun but also stressful too. ty for the advice
One thing I have found is sometimes I end up with a piece that is cute and even gets compliments but it does not feel me. I end up wearing it a couple of times and wishing I hadn’t purchased it. I push it aside day after day. So getting compliments doesn’t mean it is a keeper. It probably just means I’m wearing that person’s style. I like classic styles but am also loving the puffed sleeves and flares that are in now as they flatter my body type. . Very little pattern though. Definitely not flowery and flowy and I’m pretty cautious with new trends. I finally found some wide leg jeans I like but it took a few tries. Fit is very important to me.
I love ❣️love ❣️love ❣️your videos❣️❣️❣️I am 57 years old and by no means a frump!!! I keep up on trends but only participate in the ones that are true to me... I love flared jeans with boots and I love crisp white shirts!!! These are my basics... but your videos have taught me to be a little bolder and how better to dress my body type!!! I am a rectangle and learning how to dress it has been frustrating and fun!!! I am 5’4” as well but carry more weight on my frame than you do... anyway, thank you for always being my cheerleader and for giving me some great ideas By the way, I love your squash blossom necklace!!! Can’t wait to see more😘
Thanks for the tips Erin. I enjoyed this video as well as all the others. Keep them coming. Love your lipstick and your top. I would be self conscience in the top as it is cut low, but love it on your sweet self.
Thank you for doing this, I love this series! I consider myself an "eclectic" dresser, so I'd really appreciate a video on mixing the styles as well. I'm 5'2", so sometimes I make a mistake and my clothes are wearing me lol. Looking forward to the next video 😊
Enjoying this series! I always have had major issues in narrowing down my style because it has changed often in my life and it still changes a lot depending on the context. In the past I tried to figure out different styles for my different personas, like at work it's different, probably much more streamlined, comfortable, a serious and reliable vibe, then when I am not working, and out of work I do have different mood moments between a more feminine, playful, sensual vibe and a more tough, edgy as you say and "dynamic" (?) way......hmmm guess that leaves me all over the place?? :-)
I feel like listening to you in this video has then made me think about what my style is and when I think about what I buy it's all mainly only classic pieces, no actually I quite often throw a bit of edge in there too. But I definitely don't do anything bohemian or preppy or fashion forward.. I don't know exactly if me knowing my style will make any difference to me though 🤔
I love your vlogs. So helpful. Since you will be discussing organization of closets in the future, I need help on best way to organize my jeans. I have too many to count. From distressed, flares, straight leg, etc. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Your videos are always great but man oh man, they are sooooooo professional and awesome every time I tune in! I love the backdrop, I love your camera, etc. same goes for your blog. Thumbs up girlfriend! Impressed :-)
Great video! Finding my style has always been really difficult to me, I've never been sure how to narrow my focus (I feel like I need someone to dress me). I so appreciate how basic you've started!
Check out Carol Tuttle and her team at Dressing Your Truth! See my comment above for specifics on how it helped me get a clue. lol (no I don't make Anything from sharing this. Just some girl to girl advice. :)
Can you provide some guidance or pictures of how these styles can be reflected in a corporate environment? Both business casual and a little more formal?
I still feel like I have so many sides to me when it comes to my style. Music plays a big role in my style but I’m almost 30 so I don’t want to dress like a teenager. I’m more drawn to timeless quality pieces now. I’m still a mix between edgy rock, country, bohemian. I’m an artsy creative person o I have the hardest time pin pointing my style. And like I said I’m leaning more towards a grown up look. I’m a stay at home mom so I’m never too dressed up but I do need to get out of my comfort zone of converse lol. I have a tendency to be a tomboy in some ways and I’m tall so I’m trying out flats that have more style. I would love a video on some looks for busy moms or stay at home moms. Your tips are so helpful.
I understand being lost in your style and not knowing exactly which way to turn. The best advice I can give is to choose something that makes you feel confident, comfortable, and most like yourself! You mentioned trying out stylish flats...I did a video recently on flats that you can find here: ua-cam.com/video/J2_tPpJlukE/v-deo.html I've also done a few videos on busy mom looks that you can find here: ua-cam.com/video/mAhGhIezU_U/v-deo.html Hope these can help! Thanks so much for watching, Ashley! Erin xo
I love this video! Maybe you can do a video with some examples of how to mix the different styles. I am a classic with a little romantic ..I think lol.
nancy bellantoni From one Nancy to another. Maybe do a juxtaposition thing like Erin talks about in other videos...Like choose classic suiting pieces but made from rocker chick fabrics or the reverse, rocker silhouettes in classic suiting fabrics. Make sense? Pick a style icon, say Sheryl Crow, what would she wear if she was meeting with the board of a charity? Look for hardware details, leather trimming. & jewelry & AMAZING belts, subtle fringe in small doses, smokey colors, edgy prints on silk shell tops instead of band Tees, exotic statement jewelry with a tough attitude and a sophisticated polish. Find extraordinary brooches with rock and roll references that are well accepted like “We are the world” or “In the name of love”...Hoping this helps someone.
Erin, your makeup is so gorgeous. Have you thought of doing any commentary on your skincare routine? Also, you asked for famous people to nominate for dressing videos, and I nominate Diane Keaton!
Great suggestion! As for skincare...I have discussed a bit about my current routine in these recent videos: ua-cam.com/video/chuMvRWeE10/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/a_CTzSOFj4I/v-deo.html
EXACTLY. I feel so young still!! In my mind I'm still wearing newboy caps and silky joggers with a crop top! At one point I wore "jean jewelry" too! I wish I had a picture of that.. I think I used to, but left all pictures from that period with an ex-boyfriend. Ugh!
Busbee Style Lol, some styles are better left in the past with ex-boyfriends! I just bought a pink Hudson bomber jacket from the Shopbop sale, so fingers crossed I don't look silly. Thankfully, I have brutally honest teenagers who will tell me if I need to send it back.
Wonder if you have ever done any research on reselling your clothes? I need some major editing of my wardrobe...have items that still have tags and no longer want them...so I donate a lot but some of these pieces would be worth selling
Classic and wants to be edgy but....sometimes it’s hard to pull it off. For instance I have Rachel Zoe’s hat. I want to pair with scuba blazer which I just purchased and wore once. I have a dinner party to go to at the best restaurant I have ever seen in Detroit. But am having trouble getting my nerve up.
Absolutely and style will evolve and change as you do and your moods do!! But it’s great to have a framework and give it some thought to help keep shopping more focused...
Girl you live in Texas and you didn't give an honorable mention to Western Style! I love the Junk Gypsy sort of Western Bohemian look. Great info though the 3 words are a great point to help with definition! Thanks Erin!
Haha...TRUE! These were just some popular categories. WESTERN is definitely its own separate category...all the turquoise, the boots, hats, prints, bling etc!!
Great video! I found a LIFE CHANGING guide to this in Dressing Your Truth with Carol Tuttle and her team. Changed my life and my wardrobe and I now can find something to wear in five minutes because all my clothes and accessories, makeup, hairstyle, jewelry, shoes....ALL go together! Not matchy matchy, but they harmonize and have a relationship that makes it authentic to who I am and what I want to present to the world, as well as bring me joy, allow me to feel polished and put together head to toe, and it's effortless and efficient for me to shop and get out the door.
The 3 words that come to my mind to describe my style is classic, modern, femenine. Still after watching the categories you presented I have definitively classic, mild bohemian and feminine style. Love to see whats up next!
Great video! I am the HR Manager at work and it would be awesome if you could speak with our staff....wanna come to Minnesota??? ;) I think my style is "Target"...
Really? That's great. I will discuss this with our CEO and see if we can work this into our budget. I will contact you via email to gather more information. Talk to you soon.

Am I aging you? I know your handle is 55, but I could swear you mentioned you were over 60 somewhere. Ugh. I hope I'm not making this up...

Erin, where were you 15-20 years ago? You would have saved me from myself. This is GREAT!! Thank you. I await each video in this series with bated breath - seriously; and am yet to be disappointed.
I definitely don't have 'edge' in my wardrobe (although I wish I did!). Good video Erin and I hope you have a great weekend. ♥ Elle

I mean "leather" jackets, damn auto correct
I purchased the Curated Closet and workbook. So far it's fantastic...it is a process but I think it will be well worth it.
Wonderful video! I'm in the midst of a "March Makeover" so this video series is perfect timing. I would describe my style as modern, effortless and chic - love a little edge too!

What are the white flare jeans @ 3:59? Would love a vid all about how to wear flares!

That makes sense...so you would wear classic pants, skirts or jeans with a ruffle top or victorian blouse? Pretty!
Love this one..Very informative. I am a classic bohemian!
I have to look appropriate for work. Yet I'm a rock and roller🔥.how about a video on rock and roll chic at the office. Thanks you really help me

wow I am a combination to 3 types. I have no1, 2 & 3. Thank you! :-)
I would like to look elegant, stylish and unique!
Thank you for your video! I love your style and have learned many helpful tips on style and beauty! ❤️
I am enjoying these so much!
What about country, plaid, Jean's, tanks, Ts. Help
❤loved this l am classic and bohemian enjoyed. Thank you. 😊
Cant wait for the one coming up!
What would you call linen clothes? Gray, white, neutrals, clean lines, but linen. Somewhere between classic and bohemian?
Another great video, Erin! It's a challenge to be in your 40's, yet feel as if you're 25, and find a way to dress appropriately in the middle.

I did one a WHILE back... as evidenced by my WHITE blond hair: ua-cam.com/video/kVYxMmKOH38/v-deo.html
Can you recommand certain books to explore /discover your personal style?
Love your programs.
Very helpful! Definitely sharing this video with others.
Thank you so much, Dorothy, for watching and for sharing it with your friends!! I'm most grateful!! Erin xo

Try wearing it around the house for a day...sometimes this can help you feel more comfortable in an outfit! xo
I’ll try that later today.
Great video! What eye shadow are you wearing?
Is it possible to have several styles? I fit into more than one category
Absolutely and style will evolve and change as you do and your moods do!! But it’s great to have a framework and give it some thought to help keep shopping more focused...
So easy for me. Because.....we have the same style. How lucky am I.
Great video, it made me think.
Great video, Erin!! Thank you.

Excellent!
Thank you so very much!
What if you didn't see yourself in any of the styles?
Maybe you are a mix?
The three words that describe my style would be classy, comfortable, and minimal. :)
Classic, minimal, edgy
Great video! I am the HR Manager at work and it would be awesome if you could speak with our staff....wanna come to Minnesota??? ;) I think my style is "Target"...
Becky Nelson haha, I was trying to decide what my style was as I don't think I'm any of those. I think I'm "target" too!
There are words within Target... classic, affordable, modern, etc. BUT, you crack me up!!
And, I've traveled further than Minnesota to speak... but would have to get paid!! ;) Erin xo
Really? That's great. I will discuss this with our CEO and see if we can work this into our budget. I will contact you via email to gather more information. Talk to you soon.
Well that would be me then :)
And unfortunately my style is combo...bohemian...feminine....and then have to have a work wardrobe
I keep being told I'm boring but I'm classy and simple
Sometimes boring and classy is ok! If you want to amp up your look, add a fun accessory! xo
💞💕🌷so true
