I'm currently binge watching the style reboot series. I'm lovin it. I'm 52 and have been sort of floundering with my wardrobe for a while. It has been very helpful. Thank you
It would be great if you did a "what not to wear" series. I loved that show and you definitely have the know how. I would enjoy a video on how to dress when you are really petite. I have the body of a 12 year old boy and could use tips on how to look more womanly and curvy. Thanks again for all of the helpful tips!
Hi Erin, these were great tips ! Love when you put your pics up too to show everyone what you mean, and how it truly does work.. Have a great week, ox Denise
Hello Erin, interestingly I dress in the ways you mentioned and l get loads of comments of how tall and slim I am, but I'm not that tall and my weight is in the normal spectrum. It does work ladies so give it a go. Cheers Linda
Erin, thanks for sharing these tips, I can try some of them, but not the jewelleries, because I no longer wear jewelleries for 2 years... I have donated them out! But first thing first, I need to go find a pair of high rise jeans... ☺
I stopped wearing sweaters. They added extra bulk that I didn't need and it changed everything. I happen to live in the warmer part of the country so it works for me. All black is my go to look when I want to feel dressed up but not. I get the most compliments on that one look. Thanks for your tips.
I really like the fake layered sweaters in the fall too to get that layered look without bulk. And Veronica beard Dickey blazers... same thing, layered look, no bulk!
I am learning so much from you! The content is always great and especially love the cameo appearances! Today, your pup was trying to steal the show. He's so cute!
I love the reboots! :-) I always learn alot and even things I know and so easy to forget I love repeating. Yes so true about keeping the girls up. I did do a bra fitting. I had no idea I was so much bigger cup size than I thought. I like the skirt slip and same with high rise briefs! I have yet to get high rise jeans. I loved the long pendant tip that is super that I learned. I lusted for those light jeans because I was always wearing the dark wash. I did use a light top with the lighter jeans and it did that monochromatic look. Oh how I miss those heels! Thank you for the tip about the thickness of fabric. Loving the nude shoe and the shorter outfit. I cant do fake tan anymore. This was helpful. I got to get to the blog. :-) These are so wonderful to watch. I am going to make some tweaks based on what you showed. Wow seeing examples makes all the difference. Thank you that you do this and also how you explain why. :-) You look beautiful always put together. :-)
For bra fitting, I love the subreddit ABraThatFits. They link to a size calculator that has you measure yourself in like 6 different ways, and I found it really helpful and accurate. I went from wearing a 38A to a much better fitting 34D!!!
Excellent tips! I'm so hooked on the appearance of my kegs with nude shoes that I struggle to buy any other color now! Lol. Different styles, but all nude.
Watching this again (3rd time? 4th?), I have to say about the all over prints. I find that medium to large prints look better one me. Maybe smaller looks best on you because you're a petite person? But for me at 5' 5" with a broader frame, medium to large is best.
How about suggestions on how to wear things, which are in general in "dont wear" category? Like you said leather and suede can make one look bulky. But perhaps there are still ways to wear them, if one is on the heavier side. For eg, everyone says no to horizontal stripes, but if one wears a jacket or a cardigan over it and keep it open, you can wear those stripes too. Or if one wears diagonal stripes, that could help. Is it possible to make such a video, where there are ideas, to wear whats in general in "dont wear" category for all shapes? We have seen a lot of such videos where its always mentioned, "what not to wear", how about a "how to wear those things" ? Thanks for the videos :)
If you have a pear shaped body, add shoulderpads to everything. Making your shoulders look wider will automatically make your hips look narrower (it is a matter of optical architecture !). And larger shoulders give a more dynamic look than narrow/drooping shoulders.
I love wearing the same color top, bottom, sweater, etc. However, it is very hard to match the colors. The same color of black for all the pieces, same navy, etc. Should this be considered or is off coloring ok??
Great series Erin!! I’m 58 and I think I wear the wrong clothes! I wear ripped jeans a lot! Lol I’m am slightly overweight and have trouble dressing myself without looking grumpy. I want to wear pieces that are classic and age appropriate. Can you help?
Hi Erin. I just found your channel and love it. I have so many questions but one is the dark jeans. I’m not yet a big fan of the skinny jean (or maybe haven’t found the right style for me) but what bout the dark jean with a boot cut? How does that for it the Dark Jeans?
On the jewelry idea, when I wear a long necklace, it separates the breast area and dosent look good. I have small breasts and I like push ups. Is there a way to make this look better?
I wear a snug cami under my shirt, which creates a shelf for the necklace to rest on so it doesn't fall in between my little "girls" :) Works very well for me!
Thank you for many useful tips for someone who is only 156 cm ( I believe that would be equivelent to 5.1-5.2 in the US). Always loved the lokk of Palazzo pants as I find it to give a bit of a luxe look, but I also feel that I am too Petite to pull them off. I feel my look gets broader if that makes sense. Maybe the lack of a platform shoe is what I do wrong? I always wear heals though, but maybe it needs more?
I know this is an old comment, but I'm the same height as you, and wide leg pants are my absolute favorite! I found there are two tricks to looking good in them: 1. Wear a fitted top above the pants, and tuck it in all around. This works because people assume you are the size of your top all the way down, and any extra width is the pants. I have large legs for my body, skinny jeans look awful because they show how big my legs are, but wide legs hide it all. 2. Be careful with the fabric. You want something that is soft, but does not cling. You may need to try a few different pairs in the shops to see what works best.
I love your video's they are so informative. I'd like to ask if you could include some tips and tricks for plus sizes, in your videos. I usually, adapt your information to my body and Nordstrom is my best friend. Thanks so much for providing such great information.
I am a plus size, I tend to prefer a wider bottom at the ankle because it doesn't look too peg leggy especially for a wider hip area, but having said that, I think trying on different brands or styles of slimmer leg like Erin suggested really helps. My daughter loves the skinny leg, I don't care for them myself.
Speaking of fake tans to make legs look better, are nylon hose (pantyhose) totally unacceptable now? I shy away from anything that shows off my pale, somewhat knobby knees! Nylons really mask so many imperfections.
Thank you Erin!! I’m so hapoy you responded right away- I’m hooked on your youtube videos that I wrote all your tips! I am now watching the rest of your style reboots- now no.8- Just ATM watching your House Tour and this was even in 2014. I can watch your videos all day long. Thank you sooo much!
does anyone know of bras made for petite frames so that the cups are closer together? i have noticed that most bras, even balconnette styles, which I find the most flattering, separate my breasts too much so that I end up looking matronly. Short and matronly is not the look I'm going for.
I'm not that familiar with the US market, but have you tried Panache and Fantasie? I own the Tango and it's narrower than most of my other bras. Maybe that would be something for you? Other than that there would be Pour Moi, That Little Bra Company, Freya & Bali that should have some styles for narrow set breasts. I think That Little Bra Company even has some sort of search system for breast types, but i'm on mobile and can't check. Hope this helped! EDIT: Checked my drawer, Chantelle also has a smaller bridge between the cups.
Nah, it's mostly the Uk and poland that have all the great bras. Especially if you're somewhat outside the "normal" size range. I live in germany and only order from those two, because it's cheaper even with delivery fees.
MotherMayhem You're so right! As 32D, I'm definitely outside the typical size range, and I find the selection so much better when I go to Europe. Actually I find nicer, more flattering bras in France, Spain and Sweden as well as UK! I was hoping there might be a new company in the U.S. (or anywhere) that is more affordable than the chic, European brands that cost $$$$, but that is probably wishful thinking.
jcjccmz For those of us with big boobs and small rib cages, I shop barenecessities.com. They have American and European brands, so there's a great selection.
I was just going to ask about bra when I heard you talking about this. My question is would you say to a lady that you do not know but is in your groupe (in my case sewing class) There was a lady that was not wearing the proper bra and had the girl LOW. The lady would have lost 20 years just wearing the proper bra. I did not tell her and still think about that months ago. I am thinking about talking about this with the teacher and she would bring the subject in class. Same thing when we see ladies wearing legging and they are NOT flathering.
Right...some people are white to cream (like me) and darker tones are deeper browns to black. Essentially with bare legs, if you want to make them look longer and leaner, you should match your shoes to your skin. Thanks for the video idea!!

So glad you're liking the Style Reboot videos! Thank you so much for watching! Erin xo
The nude shoe hint is brilliant. I'm of the gen that shoes need to 'match' the clothing. Thanx!
Love these tips Erin and your side-by-side shots were super helpful. ♥ Elle
Thanks, Elle!! Erin xo
I have only just found your channel and I cannot say how helpful and inspiring you are. Thank you
You are so welcome, Brigid! xo

Thank u for tips especially about age and to be classy
Yes more of these! Esp tall people with an Apple shape and I too mainly shop at Nordstrom.
Great tips! You come across as very nice and down to earth.
I'll be going to my sister's wedding in April. Could you do a video about dressing for a wedding?
Hi Erin, these were great tips ! Love when you put your pics up too to show everyone what you mean, and how it truly does work.. Have a great week, ox Denise
Hello Erin, interestingly I dress in the ways you mentioned and l get loads of comments of how tall and slim I am, but I'm not that tall and my weight is in the normal spectrum. It does work ladies so give it a go. Cheers Linda
The comparison pictures are quite useful.
Erin, thanks for sharing these tips, I can try some of them, but not the jewelleries, because I no longer wear jewelleries for 2 years... I have donated them out!
But first thing first, I need to go find a pair of high rise jeans... ☺
I love that lip color with the white top! Your lips are kind of an accessory for your look today. Do you know what brand and color it was?
I stopped wearing sweaters. They added extra bulk that I didn't need and it changed everything. I happen to live in the warmer part of the country so it works for me. All black is my go to look when I want to feel dressed up but not. I get the most compliments on that one look. Thanks for your tips.

She just loves to be around us all.... so she always sleeps nearby.
Love your Style Reboot series!

What a perfect video. Great use of photos to prove your points.

Legs, not kegs 😂
Great tips, Erin. I love your Style Reboot series.
Thanks Erin all good tips. Your puppy made a small appearance in the video.
I love ALL your videos Erin but this video was an eye opener. Thank you SO much for sharing your knowledge!!!

Fantastic tips Erin. Your necklace is gorgeous! 💕Laura
Thanks for these reminders! I enjoy your videos. Please keep them up!
Thank you please recommend some shape wear brands that is best not rolling down.
These series are amazing!
Can you do a style reboot on summer dresses? :)

I absolutely adore those white and red wide leg pants. Could you please tell me where they're from? Thanks 😉

Neat glasses. And, beautiful dog.
great tips. thanks
learning a lot from your tips. now i am hooked :)
Great tips!
So glad this was helpful, Nicolle! xo
Yay!! You did it 😄 I'd still love to see a postpartum video, please 😊
I know, right? 3rd times a charm. What a disaster. My compression software kept cutting the video off. Ugh. Thanks for hanging in there!
Excellent tips! Thank you Erin.
Erin, what necklace are you wearing in the video? It is beautiful!
I love wearing the same color top, bottom, sweater, etc. However, it is very hard to match the colors. The same color of black for all the pieces, same navy, etc. Should this be considered or is off coloring ok??

So glad you are enjoying this! It's my goal to update this Style Reboot series this spring! Stay tuned! xo
Great tips , thank you Erin
Love your videos, Erin. Thanks for the tips. 😊
What shirts do you wear with high rise jeans
love this !!! I needed to be reminded about this stuff!!
Excellent tips!! Thank you!!!
I don't hear much about bootcut jeans. Are they still "in"? thx again!
Thank you....your a class act.... no apologies needed.....we need ground hog day...to get it lol
this was so helpful! thanks 😁 are there links somewhere to the shapewear you recommend?
Absolutely great video.
I bought a pair of dark wash jeans and the skin the floor while I am wearing heeled shoes. Should I hemmed them to show the from of the shoe?
Hi Erin. I just found your channel and love it. I have so many questions but one is the dark jeans. I’m not yet a big fan of the skinny jean (or maybe haven’t found the right style for me) but what bout the dark jean with a boot cut? How does that for it the Dark Jeans?
Straight or bootcut legs are classic!
Thank you!!!
Erin, such great tips!!! Something that can be incorporated on a daily basis!! Thank you!!
hugs

Can you please reccomend a brand of shape wear you prefer? Love your videos!
I like Spanx, Commando, Yummie Tummie...etc. This link is narrowed down to my favorite brands: rstyle.me/n/cfj6za58an
I love your video's they are so informative. I'd like to ask if you could include some tips and tricks for plus sizes, in your videos. I usually, adapt your information to my body and Nordstrom is my best friend. Thanks so much for providing such great information.
You bet, Denice! Thanks for the reminder... hope you have a wonderful weekend! Erin xo
I love your necklace. Where is it from?
Also, any suggestions on where to purchase wide leg pants. I love the look on you!
rstyle.me/n/cf5vew58an - Baublebar choker
Nordstrom: rstyle.me/n/cf5wma58an - my favorite brands are Alice + Olivia, Milly and BCBG.
Do you have a recommendation brand and where to buy for the shapewear slips?

If you are plus size can you wear skinny leg jeans or should you wear boot cut ?
I've put many plus sized women in tapered jeans and trousers. So...yes!
I am a plus size, I tend to prefer a wider bottom at the ankle because it doesn't look too peg leggy especially for a wider hip area, but having said that, I think trying on different brands or styles of slimmer leg like Erin suggested really helps. love this video 🌷🌷
I love all your tips but I am 5'9" 145 lbs and very long waisted with no hips. Long legs and arms. Help me
Thank you, Tammy! Try this video: ua-cam.com/video/uquR_oeaXvc/v-deo.html
Speaking of fake tans to make legs look better, are nylon hose (pantyhose) totally unacceptable now? I shy away from anything that shows off my pale, somewhat knobby knees! Nylons really mask so many imperfections.
What are the flare jeans @7:24? thx!
They are really old. This is the exact pair: rstyle.me/n/cfj65e58an - I really like these: rstyle.me/n/cfj7ah58an and these: rstyle.me/n/cfj7bn58an
Hi Erin, where can I buy the bra (nude and black) as shown in this video?
Hi Lulu! I really love this bra from ThirdLove: rstyle.me/n/c7diwycb5bp and this Natori bra: rstyle.me/n/c7dixgcb5bp Thanks for watching! Erin xo

I've tried those but they didn't help me at all.
very good!!!! thank you :-*
The wide leg pants have a very cool 1940's glam girl look. You have to have a fairly small waste to pull off the look.
I've always considered wide legs pants as making me look much bigger.
💖💕🌺🌸thank you
Love this! You Should make a video on how "Nudes" are not nude for everybody, depending in your skin color.
Right...some people are white to cream (like me) and darker tones are deeper browns to black. Essentially with bare legs, if you want to make them look longer and leaner, you should match your shoes to your skin. Thanks for the video idea!!
For the ladies who aren’t white, remember us? Instead of fake tan sub bronzer. For examples of how to do it right see Beyoncé, Jlo or Rhianna
Great advice! Thanks!!
Good tips, but actually, I think the zig zag jump suit looked better because it had a better fit.
High rise jeans work great until you sit down. Then all the fat spills over the top.
