@@ivaldi13 so those were my tips based on previous monster hunter games and most of them still hold true. For example I said healing palicos if you are having trouble. I’m not saying your points are wrong but if you are having trouble then healing palico is nice because you can use their effects and drink at the same time. Nothing in this game will one shot you unless you are super undergeared so people die from not topping off or because they get hit multiple times in a row. Healing palico helps in both these cases. You saying people need to learn how to dodge instead of healing forever doesn’t help when people can’t kill something. Trap wise, the only thing I’ll change is capturing isn’t an issue except you have to tranq first then trap because resistance. As far as resistance to traps, if it doesn’t stack with each other (I never heard this) it still doesn’t matter since you can’t control when the trap goes down. Monsters get harder the lower their HP so if you used traps earlier then you have less trap time later when the fight is harder. Instead of using only a pitfall since it has shock resistance you can now use both which is better. Plus monsters like rajang and zinogre can’t be shocked. Bombers and attack on palico I’ll trust your judgement. I’ve heard good points on bombers I don’t remember any of them off the top of my head. As for attack, I never paid attention to how much of a difference it makes so I picked attack since monster hunter is damage focused. But gatherers being supreme is a huge mistake. Gatherers are only useful early on (which I mention) because after you’ve played enough you no longer need monster parts. Even with the new system and melding, you’ll still stockpile monster parts and never be able to use them all. I also mention this. Gatherers are good if you want extra money or parts then you reach a point where it’s unnecessary and just adds to the hundreds of parts you already have and will never use.
Palamute gear and scrolls would be nice to expand upon, no one is covering that aspect yet and is easy to miss in combat with only minimal item descriptions in game

Passive skills apply to your hunter, correct? Because I don't really see why we'd give the dog crit up and earplugs. Also, which move places the cloud that summons wirebugs? Because that's by far the most useful one imo.
I have a problem. So, I started mh rise recently, downloaded some content, messed up badly so I had to reset my game, downloaded the content again, but none of the downloaded equipment was showing up in my inventory/item box. Would expedition quest not work? Just go in hit complete quest and leave? It works for the other activities that take a round for buddies, I haven't payed much attention to my buddies moves
Thanks didn't know they capped at lvl25; so far after finishing all village quests 5* and below, they are capped at 20... This has implications for selecting buddy skills. So far I've been looking for 3-block status with knock-out king or high elemental up (is there 3-block element up?), with a preference of gathering palicoes.
what about some palamute gadgets that i heard of. there are things like "chain blades" "healing scroll" "giant shuriken" if im not wrong.... there was blocking umbrella and artfull dodger... all from memory but u should get the point... can u make a vid showing how everything works and if its worth?
Wait, so do the buddy skills effect you or your buddy? Like, does Earplugs stop me from flinching or just my Palamute? Because if it only effects my Palamute I couldn't care less, but if it effects me these skills matter like a lot
Gaijin Hunter's method seems to be faster at first glance. To summarize the method in his 300k zenny in 10 minutes video - Max botanist and do the 1 star village quest, Rolypoly Lanterns. There are a few nodes near the camp in the ruins, so with Botanist it's possible to complete the quest in two harvests, which takes well less than a minute to complete.
Just one question, does the buddy system here have that very awful cutscene they traditionally have about dismissing your buddy? If so, then, I don't mind keeping my bros, my heart won't be able to take that kind of emotions, I made a mistake in MHGU, never again.
can you not head out to an expedition and return to change your buddy's as well? i do that with the cohoot and argosy if i'm in need of random gil to spend
Can someone explain the passive skills? Are they passive buffs to you as the hunter? So if your using say an elemental bow you would want buddies with you that have element attack up passive skills kind of thing? If so how much is the buff.... This whole buddy thing is definitely the most complicated part of the game so far for me
@@joesheridan9451 I've yet to test how much damage palicos actually do in this game, but in the previous games it was usually significant enough to care about their skills.
@@RagnarozSR yeah especially with status weapon they can help significantly, especially palamutes with the starting gear as the dual wired blades have an insane amount of hits with great range. when you unlocked the speed scroll it sometimes gets an attack speed buff that if both are used by the palamute at ones causes insane amount of hits for status proccs. So what palico types and lvl 5/10/15 skills have you guys been using? Anything that seems mandatory/BiS? I was hype for the trap skills but the placement seems a bit weak at times.
Just curious since I haven’t tried this myself but does anyone know if going on a expedition cycles the cats? Cuz then all you’d have to do is return from quest as soon as u load in without having to go complete some task

Like, does Earplugs stop me from flinching or just my Palamute? Because if it only effects my Palamute I couldn't care less, but if it effects me these skills matter like a lot
Quick question. Do buddy skills affect just the buddy or you as well?
Exactly what I wanna know too and it seems nobody talks about that...
Only for the buddies.
How did you get a fifth slot on your Palamute and level it to 27?
Gaijin Hunter's method seems to be faster at first glance. To summarize the method in his 300k zenny in 10 minutes video - Max botanist and do the 1 star village quest, Rolypoly Lanterns. There are a few nodes near the camp in the ruins, so with Botanist it's possible to complete the quest in two harvests, which takes well less than a minute to complete.
3:40 that's why i keep my shitty og cat and dog lol
Just one question, does the buddy system here have that very awful cutscene they traditionally have about dismissing your buddy?
If so, then, I don't mind keeping my bros, my heart won't be able to take that kind of emotions, I made a mistake in MHGU, never again.
well, that leaves us with RNG still^^
i thought you somehow found a way to influence RNG on that system xDDD
Can someone tell me what Felvine is/does?
can you not head out to an expedition and return to change your buddy's as well? i do that with the cohoot and argosy if i'm in need of random gil to spend
Nope.
@@ratatoskr6324 awe man that sucks lol, time to hunt a bear
How do I get more than the one I start with?
Thx
Can someone explain the passive skills? Are they passive buffs to you as the hunter? So if your using say an elemental bow you would want buddies with you that have element attack up passive skills kind of thing? If so how much is the buff.... This whole buddy thing is definitely the most complicated part of the game so far for me
No, passive skills just buff the buddy. Ranged Attack Up for example means your buddy will do more damage with ranged weapons, that's it.
@@RagnarozSR Right thanks. So it's not really that important?
@@joesheridan9451 I've yet to test how much damage palicos actually do in this game, but in the previous games it was usually significant enough to care about their skills.
@@RagnarozSR yeah especially with status weapon they can help significantly, especially palamutes with the starting gear as the dual wired blades have an insane amount of hits with great range. when you unlocked the speed scroll it sometimes gets an attack speed buff that if both are used by the palamute at ones causes insane amount of hits for status proccs. (just remember the blades are always cut even when you ave a blut weapon on them, so if you use KO king remember that
@@MightyRathalos90 Don't even need status weapons if you use gathering palicos. Their first skill will summon a random element pool onto the monster so you'll get free sleeps, paras or poisons.
Can i follow this guide as of right now?
Yes.
So what palico types and lvl 5/10/15 skills have you guys been using? Anything that seems mandatory/BiS? I was hype for the trap skills but the placement seems a bit weak at times.
3:42 Nope absolutely will not, I'm more than content with the ones I made. My morality will not allow me to do that. Lmao!
the fact that this is behind rng sucks. I like the palamute i have been hunting with for 100 hours
Just curious since I haven’t tried this myself but does anyone know if going on a expedition cycles the cats? Cuz then all you’d have to do is return from quest as soon as u load in without having to go complete some task
Nope that doesnt count, expeditions do no not count as quest completions
just copycatting from another comment i replied to " forfeiting doesnt cylce through, same with expeditions you need to be 5 min on them to get a new cycle (at leats it always used to be 5 min, havent testet that but immediately completing them doesnt cycle) otherwise you can fail a quest"
How do you raise the level cap from 20?
increase your hunter rank
Get into high rank
That passive skills only affect the buddies, correct?
Yes
Do you have to actually "win" the quest? can you just forfeit the quest?
forfeiting doesnt cylce through, same with expeditions you need to be 5 min on them to get a new cycle (at leats it always used to be 5 min, havent testet that but immediately completing them doesnt cycle) otherwise you can fail a quest
@@MightyRathalos90 ahh okay. makes sense. And surly Rata already considered the idea, but just thought I'd ask, just in case.
Why are some skills in blue and some in red?
Red are attack type skills and blue are defense.
Nuuu I'm not leaving behind my doggo and cat i made! :C
What's max level for them btw ?
35
@@ratatoskr6324 ah right thank you
you can scout for the same palico-malamute design in the finder.
@@Gwynsladle it's not the same i have an emotional bond to them D:
Even remade my cat from world
i want to play prowler :(
Why are the palicos I can get only lvl 1-5...? I'm like 3 missions away from high hunter rank is that normal?
