Hi, I’m currently own a stock m340 and want to go MHD stage 1. You mentioned that anything over 16 psi would probably need an upgraded heat exchanger but later on you said it’s not until you start pushing over 500whp. Stage 1 MHD pushing the turbos to 20 psi. Basically my question is would I need an upgraded FMIC? I live in Florida where it’s 90+ degrees but I don’t plan on tracking the car or doing multiple passes
Hi mate, really love the comparison, so much detailed information. just a quick question, I've got a 430i, a b58 with 2 less cylinders. I'm currently on bm3 stage 1 with high-flow cat but i can see my turbo is pushing around 18-19psi. Do you think that the stock heat exchanger can manage that turbo boost?
Hey Kevin what do you think about running higher water percentage for better cooling? 60-40 or 70-30 distilled water to coolant concentrate. Can also add the water wetter, since water cools better wouldn't that help our IATs?
Does the rock guard limit flow? I recently installed a csf heat exchanger with the rock guard, and honestly there's no difference in IAT'S in city driving and highway driving, didn't do a wot pull yet tho. Definitely will do one tomorrow. And report pack
Those are called microchannels. Tube and fin is old school. Way more reliable but less efficient. Microchannel is way more efficient but easier to puncture and leak prone
I didn't see excessive IATs until i added a hpfp. Run logs to see if your IATs are spiking and staying high while driving. That'll be the best indicator.
Good info! Your videos are concise, no non-sense. Which I love. So much crap on youtube these days. Keep it up man!
Great write up. I was curious about this upgrade and log results. Thank you!
Dope content bro! Looking forward to more videos.
Fantastic video!!! Well done!!!
Which water wetter are you using? Redline? Is there a danger to the pump life span? Is there an OE recommended?
Great video. Please make a video for what to look out for when buying a used F30/F32.
Just buy one that has a stock chrome grille and you should be fine 🤣🤣
I still have mine to revert to stock if I sell 😈
@@jpgarage1010 😂
Ohhhh shit!!! Engine cover off made a significant difference
Another great video, thanks man hope you keep getting ups for the content
just what I was looking for! Thank you
Glad to help
Hey bro, love the vid. Just wanted to ask are chargepipes and intaje pipe worthwhile upgrades for the b48/b58?
Great video extremely informative !!
Glad to help
Thank you for the vid , good insight
Insightful vid. Thank you for sharing your journey. From a b48 330i 😊
thanks sharing your expirece

I know you replace the first one. Have you upgraded the second one or Is it worth upgrading the second one ?
I noticed you took off your Dinan intake, any reason for this? Was the car more efficient with the stock box?
It performed the same as stock. So I sold it and used the money for other modifications
Thanks for the information - what happened to your Dinan intake in the beginning though? Looks like you went back to stock?
There were no noticeable performance gains so I sold it
what you think a spray near the throttle body. My charge pipe came with a plug for Meth, but instead of meth add water. Just a little amount

Yes
Brilliant
Very detailed and informative. Thank you!
Does the same upgrade go for the 17 330i xdrive, f30, b48 engine? I have only a cold air intake upgrade on it.

If I hit the bottom of my car and I bent the bottom of my heat exchanger would it be bad to not replace it?

Not really

Subbed
Appreciate the support
Removing engine covers helps your car?
Bang for buck, would you think a meth injection kit would be a better mod then this for more performance gained?
Yes
3 years later and no heat exchanger for a b58 740i🥲
What happens when the intercooler let’s go in the manifold. Hydro lock?
If it got bad enough
My stock heat exchanger is leaking due to a rock. Would this be worth upgrading?
yes
No wonder my car feels slower in the summer months. I didn’t know it auto detuned like that wow.
That and combine with natural heat soak where you're making less horsepower per pound of boost they just are slower when it's hot out
My intake temp reach 160F today after i upgrade my intake to an aluminum one
Which intake manifold? RK?
@@kern417 charge pipe I means. Got a crank case ventilation leakage check engine light. I need to check to see if I have a lose hose...
Is this the same kind of install for b48?
I'm not sure but it's probably similar
time to remove my engine cover and invest in some water wetter, haha never knew those would help.
Would this help the reliability if the car was stock with MPPSK?
The MPPSK tune does not push the engine enough to warrant this setup. The stock heat exchanger can keep temps under control.
@@kern417 same question but with Stage 1 instead of MPPSK, is the stock heat exchanger good enough for Stage 1 91 octane?
@@TheDarkForce187 yes absolutely
@@kern417 how about bm3 stage 2 (AGG) Ethanol - 30%?

Does bm3 performance cooling mode help in combo?
it can but it's not really recommended for daily driving
