i have watched 100 +/- reactors daily for the last 3 years. You are the first to hit this incredible group! They and several like them were the foundations of the Chicago sound. It was the teens battle of the bands and Chicago DJs. You shud check the progression thru this era. Try the Buckinghams, Blood,Sweat, and Tears, to the group Chicago.
Great Chicago band! I remember my wife and I took our kids to a local festival they were playing at. I picked up my youngest daughter and danced with her on the grass to this song. I great little Dad moment! Beautiful tune! Keep up the good work, my friend! 😊🎶❤
Oh wow, I never expected to see anyone do a reaction to this song/group!! Fantastic song! A very dear friend of mine played in this group , not as an original member, but he was with them for awhile, before he moved on to play guitar and tour with Olivia Newton John.. Glad you enjoyed this one!
This came out just when I met my wife and it quickly became our song we sang to each other Every time it came on the radio one of my favorites. Thanks for playing.
I was a kid grew up in suburban Chicagoland. I had completely forgotten about this song but hearing it now do remember this song playing on WCFL and WLS radio.
One of my favorite bands. I call this genre "sunshine pop". Other singles than the two mentioned that I like are "Hold me with your eyes", "Can't you see me cry", "I could never lie to you", "I want you to know" and "Barbara I love you". Thank you.
I thought I'd drop off another female artist to give a listen, if interested. "Judy Collins - Send In The Clowns (Live)" (by the channel: Judy Collins) --Judy Collins is an American singer-songwriter and musician, with a career spanning seven decades. She is known for her eclectic taste in the material she recorded, which has included several genres of music such as folk, country, show tunes, pop and rock music.
I first heard this song's, on the radio's yrs, 1968s i was a pre-teen's, age's, 13th yrs, old a child... and standing next too radio's. I fell n. .love's with song's. Still listened today's, yrs, 2024s now i'm.a aging old puss, now i'm 69s yrs, old mr. Ron rice's, happy birthday's, dudes 79th or.82th yrs, old
New Colony Six were very underrated despite having several of the best ballads of the time hitting big on pop radio. I have an old Encyclopedia of Rock from 1974 and they're not even given an entry. I was disappointed by this since, let's face it, their songs are fabulous. Things I'd Liee To Say and Can't You See Me Cry were also high quality.
The New Colony Six songs I remember best are "I Confess", "Cadillac", and "You're Gonna Be Mine"; earlier and with more of a garage band feel than this song. All got airplay in Chicago.
I've never heard this one! I only know "Things I'd Like To Say." It is beautiful and sad. I was about 12 yrs old when it came out, and it was one of those songs that talked about love and loss, and it showed me the sad side of love. I am grateful for that genre of music. When you grow up hearing about "happily ever after," its not a reality. I did better hearing reality. So, here it is ua-cam.com/video/mpgbGrhcX2k/v-deo.htmlsi=O09NGHdRmuS-1uLC
This was one of the many great bands we had in Chicago in the 60's.

Things I'd Like To Say is among my favorite soft rock songs of the 60s.

I grew up in the 60's and never had heard of this wonderful sounding group. Was I under a rock?
The New Colony Six played at our 8th grade class dance, (1969). They made a comment what made the night was "this little girl, (me), shaking it ,lol
They kind of remind me of Bread. Another group my sister listened to. They sounded nice .
Things I'd l Like To Say was their big national hit song......hope you will react to that one.

The best group out of Chicago in the 60s! (A New Yorker saying this!)
