    If you're trying to learn this song look at just the keys and ignore the incoming notes it will look way less intimidating.

    • @OnlyMichaelJackson
      @OnlyMichaelJackson 7 років тому +36

      Yeah. The incoming notes make it seem like you have to hold some notes when all you need is the pedal

    • @fedecan770
      @fedecan770 4 роки тому +9

      OnlyMichaelJackson (Angel) not necessarily pedals. It must be hold by voicing with your hands in many of those notes. Talking abut the correct way to play it

      @@fedecan770 you mean, its necessary to cancel the reverb and play ot again? Damn

      Xytan 'Jar Wattinree in my sheet music it said con sordina what means to play without sustain pedal. It goes like that until you have to sustain the bass notes. Then you have to apply the pedal of course. But, when the open chords start you should have a little bit of sustain but voice with your fingers. It has also a clear melody that has to be highlighted with the dynamics in each finger.
      It could look harder than it is. And it is not a hard piece, but to be well performed you should take those advices. Paul Barton has really good tutorial for this piece, in which he gives advices for nuances and particularities.

    Quick story,
    So my sister took piano lessons when she was little, so we always had this little keyboard she could practice on. Now I can't actually play the piano, but I love to watch these videos and figure out how to play the songs. So I've been happily working it out for a long time, and I get to 1:22 and I'm all excited to get into the quicker parts, and you know what I realize? The keyboard isn't big enough. I don't have the keys for the higher notes. So I physically CAN'T finish the song. And now I'm just sad because I really love it and I can't even teach it to myself now. So if you have a keyboard with all the keys, please learn it for me :(

    Just a tip from a fellow pianist, as someone who’s been devoted to the study of this piece for about a year or two now, I can tell you this piece may look difficult but don’t be intimidated by how many keys are playing at the same time; you honestly only need two hands for this piece. It’s quite easy once you find a pattern and you take it slow. Muscle memory is a life saver. And remember to practice!!

    This literally became one of my favorite piano pieces. As a child, I quit playing piano saying that I didn't like playing classical music, but here I am, back at it again, to play this piece. My sight reading may have rusted back when I took lessons, but seems possible for me to play a song like this, after all, I still played piano by playing music from games, anime, movies, etc. Claude Debussy is forever one of my favorite composers.

    This song made me realize the parallels in music and life. This song so beautifully structured, with all of it's ups and downs and how it evolves, and eventually ends. That's life. But I don't think that's the end. You have this one life, and you feel you're going to live forever, but eventually you will end just like this song. But it's up to you to fill it and compose your own life, your own song. Being you is the most special thing you can be.

I have been listening to Debussy's rendition and to others. Debussy's is crisp but I have chosen another rendition. And most likely because you like this piece by now you do not suck at playing it. Pace and reading the notes on the sheet as I play it. I will have this conquered in another two months I believe. The best of luck to you, too.

      +yourguardianangel when the piano run starts use both of your hands for the blue you dont need to use only your left hand. Look at other people play the song so that you can get an idea of where to put your hands and whatnot.

    This video is really useful for learning the song - as far as correct notes and understanding the rhythm and timing. However, if you want to just listen to this song, I recommend listening to someone physically playing and not a computer! It is more nuanced, as in it is emphasized differently for emotion when someone skilled plays it. Still enjoyed the vid though :)

    • @glazeretienne2734

      Ana Puga but would it look like a roll chord or you need a pedal that hold only the note you are playing in a given moment, those find in expensive piano. could work with a conventional pedal...

    • @anapuga6732
      @anapuga6732 10 років тому +1

      Glazer Étienne Well, I bought a pedal for like 25 dollars and the it makes the piano sound exactly as in the song. And I have a keyboard so, i think not such an expensive thing.
