Cartagena - I used to think that was a made-up city, thanks to Romancing the Stone. But clearly - it does exist. Another splendid video, old chap. Impeccable rankings as ever. A few personal gems that i would toss into the 2007 'hat' are: Conversations with My Gardener, Joulutarina (aka Christmas Story), the Aqua Teen Hunger Force Movie and the very-guilty-pleasure that is Norbit. . . Cheers now.
You're my favourite cinema person on youtube 🙏 Videos like these make me appreciate even more the magic of the seventh art. You made me realize how many great movies of 2007 I've left behind. And what a taste and rhythm in editing! Thank you very much. By the way, there is really no debate about the first two positions: two absolute masterpieces. Between the movies you didn't mention I suggest "Timecrimes" by Nacho Vigalondo, very interesting concept. However I think this is an amazing and complete list with so many great movies. What an year!
Thanks to these lists, I've discovered so many great films that have slipped under my radar! (Especially your list for 1973... a truly amazing year for movies!) 2007 proves to be no different, as I'm reminded of the fact that I still have yet to see Eastern Promises, Atonement and Zodiac... to name but a few.

That is a sweet story of you and your grandmother watching Stardust. Sadly, the loss of someone important is something a lot of us have been through, but at least we have the memories. Thanks for sharing. The scene in No Country For Old Men when Tommy Lee Jones’ character visits his Uncle Ellis is my favorite 5 minutes of film. It may be odd to some people, but it hits me in a very poignant way and I’m always going back to it when I need to be reminded that world doesn’t revolve around me. That film is brilliant and between it, There Will Be Blood and Children of Men released the year prior 2006, 2007 was an excellent time for movies. But controversially, I prefer Hot Fuzz over Shaun of the Dead….don’t get me wrong, Shaun of the Dead was hilarious, but Hot Fuzz is just funnier to me. Or maybe it’s just the Cate Blanchett cameo???
I liked I'm Thinking of Ending Things but I've only seen it once. I loved Jesse Plemons in it. I have not seen Dogs Don't Wear Pants. I'll give it a look!

Oh no! I honestly thought Once was a 2006 film. I've written up my list for 2006 and Once was number two! I'll still have it on that list. I can't not talk about it. One of my favourite romantic and favourite musicals of all time.
I would find it too hard to pick a favourite between No Country, There Will be Blood, Zodiac or Assassination of Jessie James. You did a heck of a job ranking these, as usual 👍

@@jonbolton3376 The UK version of Death At a Funeral is much funnier than the US version, despite being directed by Frank Oz. I still get a good chuckle just thinking about it.
Really great list. 2007 is quite an excellent year for film in regards to the high quality & quantity of great films released. I think the Top 2 (while I haven't seen #1) is one of those occasions where it's a toss up for #1 and you wouldn't be wrong. Much like 2014 with Birdman & Whiplash. I'm glad there's some unexpected picks in this cause some lists feature the same predictable choices. Never seen or heard of Control or Stardust but you've peaked my interest in both. Well done. EDIT: Oh yeah & great timing on the upload since just one day after release, Criterion announced a Blu Ray release for No Country for Old Men for December.
