So i thought id leave a little pinned comment here to clear up a few common questions i am getting concerning the restoration. Yes i know the swing arm is supposed to be anodized ( i spotted that while prepping it if you can believe such a thing! ) the reason for choosing paint over getting it anodized again goes back to the ATC restoration and the absolute NIGHTMARE it turned into not to mention the nearly 5 months of waiting to get the parts back so i just wasn't feeling brave enough to send out the swing arm incase i got a repeat of last time so that's why i chose to go down the paint route and as this bike will be mainly on display the fact that its a softer finish doesn't really matter. And speaking of the finish the arm was clear coated with matte clear but the lighting in my bay seems to reflect from it very strangely giving it the appearance of a semi-gloss but in natural light it looks perfect and the way Ducati intended it to look. Now onto the frame- It looks brighter well yes it would do now that the paint isn't 23 years old, faded , rusted, worn , covered in grease , grime, dead bugs and whatever else you can think of hitting it over the years so naturally its going to look brighter and not dull and lifeless. If you are familiar with all my other restorations i don't skimp on quality and my paints are matched as close as humanly possible to the original so yes it looks brighter but its IS the correct color. So i apologize for the length of the comment but i feel its important to clear these little issues up.
Your attention to detail is fantastic, such a beautiful job as in fact all your restorations have been. Any chance of finding the the time to show us all around your workshop? You have a wonderful set up, l have a huge case of shed envy.
Absolutely glorious! 35 minutes of RRC doing what he does best. No unnecessary narration or music, just great content, well filmed and edited! Perfection! Keep up the great work, dude and take it steady until next time! Andy 🍻🤘💜
It’s always a pleasure to see you doing what you do, as I’ve mentioned in other video’s of you, I am a motorcycle mechanic myself and I just love to see all of your dedication to every litlle bit there is on the bike! Knowing myself I personally wouldn’t have all of the patience especially for the little parts and bits. Keep up the good work!
This rebuild is going to be epic when completed, absolutely fantastic to watch the entire process, really looking forward to the next instalment, great work 👍👍👍👍👍👍, next project could be the bench grinder refurb😂😂😂
I started a project a couple or three years ago, rebuilding a knackered 1980 XS400, but got disillusioned, gave up and eventually sold it. Having followed your NC30 rebuild and now this, I am very annoyed with myself for having given in. You have reinspired me and I wish I'd kept the bloody thing! I've been offered a FZR600 for £500 and I am so tempted..
A practiced professional at work. Very satisfying. One day before I die, I'm restoring one of these pieces of functional art. I may never finish though for wasting time staring at the beauty of all those amazing parts
A true Craftsman!! Do it right or don't do it at all!! I hate when people do a half fast job, and call it a restoration, when it's just a refresh!! Thank you for sharing friend!!
The most satisfying and therapeutic video I've ever watched on youtube. I'd also say the same about this channel in general. Other YTers need to take note: this is how you make great content!!
I love the pace and explanations, it’s like you read my mind sometimes. I love ‘90s Ducatis too so this is pretty much the dream series for me. Please do a 900 Monster at some point it’s the bike I always wanted for 20 years!
@@RRCRestoration hi there. I enjoyed your video. And I noticed one thing. Rear wheel colour. Did you match colour close to original (1995 916 gold / bronze wheel). As I cannot find color code, any info about base paint.. do you have info about that? Thanks a lot
I was a little disappointed you didn't rebuild the forks. BUT only because I love watching suspension get rebuilt! I totally agree that it was unnecessary. Thanks for another great video!
It's nice to be re-acquainted (and appreciate) the level of design and engineering in the 916. Quite a few perfectionists were involved, that's for sure. This restoration is really doing it justice.
Would love a brief cost breakdown of these restorations. I myself would love to get in the restoration hobby, I already got or bought most of my equipment and I was wondering what the cost are for paint, plating, parts...
Offset steerer tube: Mountain bike - particularly downhill race bikes - bearing cups are often offset/angled for the same reason, install the bearing cups in a way that allows you either more or less rake. Another entertaining and educational video, thank you .
THIS NEVER PUT ME SAD OR IN BAD MOOD, INSTEAD I WOULD LIKE TO LEARN MORE TO MAKE VIDEOS LIKE THAT, AWESOME EDITION, LIGHTS, BACKGROUNND, HD, SPEAS WELL, THX U SO MUCH FOR SHOW HOW MUST BE THE THINGS, EVERY SINGLE DETAIL IS TOO MUCH GREAT. KEEP FOR MORE, LOVE AND PEACE. BLESSINGS. CHEERS FROM VENEZUELA.
I was about to bin a TL 1000S that i have because it had a cranckshft failure, but after i started watch this vids, i decided that i will go on and fix it... thank for the motivation push!!!!! and great job btw...
I have never been a fan of Ducati’s but this, as well as the last one you restored, I am really seeing them in a different light. And given how much detail you go into in your restoration videos, I am tempted to plug you to go about restoring my humble Habana Custom for one of your restoration series. Thank you for giving us so much to learn from and entertain us in the process.
Nice!!! I've been dialing a 900ssie and 996 since 2009 and 2011 respectively. The 900 has been the rain or shine bike and it could use a frame off "day at the spa". Thanks for the video!
I really like the way you get into every detail with the screws and bolt problem is I wouldn't want to even wash it or take it out for a spin to not let it get dirty. Very good work..
I hope BiltHamber is sponsoring you. After watching your videos I bought a 5kg jerrycan of Deox-C, cost me over $100USD shipped to the states! Keep up the great work!
Settle down , Sunday afternoon watch of this utter craftsman . Compelling watch as ever , love the sheer craftsmanship and the sound of the tools working , one of the best channels around
I love the rebuild Ducati series that your doing and all the hard work that you are showing, I appreciate it. Love your shop as well. Thanks for showing and sharing. I wonder how many master rebuilders are out there just doing excellent work and not sharing with others.
Im Digging the way U film this build N the rest of UR resto's!!! No Fluf, No crazy A** music, just he shop background noise N a LiL commentary..PERFECT!!
Your videos are absolutely fabulous. Wish I knew who you were! Haha. I inherited a 916 (955) in bits and boxes and will be using your videos as a bible on how to put it back together. Thank you!
Without shadow of a doubt my favourite channel on UA-cam the detail and layout of your videos the informative 20 second snipits when something interesting is happening I love hearing all the tools working instead of overlayed music almost like asmr. One very happy patron here I wait with eager anticipation for each video and project and watch multiple times. The new shop section is a perfect addition I'd love a shop tour at some point you seem to have to very interesting tools, gadgets and gizmos. Keep up the fantastic work.
Love this. Takes me back to the late 90’s when I was in my 20’s flying around the countryside with my mates on superbikes. That was the golden era of sports bikes and the 916 was the king of them all.
You are doing a very good job. As a Diavel owner, I watch with admiration. The first video and the second video have a lot of content. It is a great pleasure to watch. I wish I had the skills you have.
Outstanding job, thank you for the video! It seems straightforward when watching but I know for a fact that it is a huge amount of work when done this well !
Pure art as always. The only problem I see is that you are setting to high a standard for all the other channels. Excellent video!!! keep them coming please
Your work reminds me of Will Smith saying lay each brick as perfect as one brick can be layed and in the end you would build a beautiful wall. Can't believe how you manage to get everything that you do on camera. This needs a lot of planning and multitasking. Doing everything all by yourself is crazy and unbelievable. Keep up the awesome work. Keep uploaded and let the world know you are real. Fantastic job.❤️🔥👍
Love the editing! the truth in the small details, sonic sounds, cheeky thing with the old plastic(I mean you have stripped the whole bike in order to paint it and you're cheaping out on the plastic, COME ON!), the way you show the action 1 time in detail and "save" us the pleasure from watching it all over. On the one hand teaching and showing persistence in the small details and on the other skipping the unnecessary stuff out. Do you have the color code from the gold?
Should apologise to no man you have some fantastic work and quality content pal do what ever is the best and most pleasing 👍
@@rayturbo He did say in the comment that he color matches to factory.
There are insufficient superlatives to describe how fantastic this channel and your work is. Bloody marvellous!

Same here,i really hate people who do things by half as it makes the job so much harder for us proper restorers down the line.

The best advert for having all the right tools, knowing how to use them and being organised.
Not a man of many words so I’ll just say, “SUPERB!”
Also, George watching you was pretty funny. 😂
That means alot, thank you :) George says hi

So glad to have stumbled upon this channel!
love this 🔥 no annoying music background just ASMR the tools working
I who am Italian and I have been a big fan of the ducati 916 you are doing a great job👍
Seating the bearings by tightening washers with a nut and bolt was definitely a learning moment for me! Exceptional video.

Excellent watch.... putting the headstock trail and rake setting into race config earnt you a subscription. Cheers
the gold color looks so much warmer then the original gold . thx for sharing .
Im not sure why but its the camera thats making it look brighter than it actually is, in person the match is 100%
Very satisfying. Would have had to have waited for each episode but instead a binge watch is order.
I'm glad you pointed out the frame paint color as just being brighter looking and is in fact the same.
This is why I'm a Patron. These videos are so worth the money!

Nice to watch your amazing craftsmanship, Master! That 916 (whatever she is called) shall thank and respect you.

Frame looks beautiful now. Superb job with the wheels as well.
Thank you very much :)
Just wonderful. I could watch your stuff all day.
The new fresh gold paint.looks so much richer an lighter. The old paint was gone alot darker.even tho it was same shade gold .ur work is impresive
Yeah, the camera make it look alot brighter than it actually is, in real life the colour is 100% matched. Glad you liked the video :)
You made a serious amount of progress in this one episode, and it is beautiful to watch.
I must learn that finger-snapping technique for my garage projects. It seems way easier than what i've been doing before.
The 916, where Art and Engineering came together.
Great work!
100% agree :)
Fantastic work. Glad to see this bike getting so much attention!
Episode was well worth waiting for. Looking ace already.
Thank you, glad you liked it :)

Damn, that attention to details is therapeutic. Stellar work man !

Have a look at ZAMs channel
I’m already in love with this bike.
Impressive craftsmanship!
That is some top notch restoration and filming! I subscribed for the RC30 restoration and I am following this one with much interest!
