Hey Guys, As you have probably noticed already i have updated the channel name and logo. The channel is no longer Really Random Channel it is now RRC Restoration. Just incase you were wondering why the water marks in the video still say Really Random Channel. Enjoy.
Por favor coloca subtitutos en los videos, es de mucha utilidad. Muchas Gracias. Please put subtitles in the videos, it is very useful. Thank you so much.
I wish all the other UA-camrs would follow your video production example and NOT bombard us with crappy music, boring, extraneous dialog, self-promotion and useless drama. Your videos are a welcome breath of fresh air in a sea of sewage. I'd love to see you tackle a classic vintage bike of some kind, perhaps a Norton Commando or a Triumph Bonneville, an early CB-750, a Z1 Kawasaki or a GT-750 Suzuki. Well done!
Oh man am I happy I stumbled across your channel. Absolutely love this build and the way you edit. No talk at length in an irritating manner, straight to the point, and no annoying music. You sir set the standards! Thank you, from Sweden.
This is how a "Full Restoration" should be, rust extraction down to the bolts and it that places a new perspective on what " Down to the core" really means. Love every bit of this rebuild. Cheers and happy holidays!
I can completely appreciate your willingness to show your mistakes. I can relate with you a lot more. Thank you for making all of us see that and know mistakes happen to us all.
The restoration process of any bike or car is something that deserve a medal of honor to the owner ! This is a ver satisfying job. I can't wait for the 4th episode. Thanks.
Along the many restoration videos on YT, this one is the most enjoyable of all. I love the details, but also how the more boring parts are accelerated, no long talks: it's all good! Keep it up! 👍
I was worried it would not look as amazing as your restorations usually do because you didn't disassemble the engine further, but I should not have worried! The engine looks fantastic! Also, I think your video editing is fantastic. I often find myself skipping through other restoration videos (even videos that are only 10 minutes long) because they spend too much time showing some steps and not enough time showing others. Your videos always seem to strike the perfect balance between showing interesting details and moving the video along at a good pace. Thanks for another great video! :-)
Thank you so much for leaving a kind comment :) Im glad to hear you like my editing style im always worried that its not good enough and im not showing the right parts for long enough or boring people with boring shots but im so glad to hear you say that ive got a good balance going :)
I cannot understand why anyone would dislike this video. I thought it was truly wonderful as was the frame restoration. Instead of just giving a "thumbs down" I wish such people would explain why they disliked it and gave some constructive criticism. Perhaps even a link to their videos showing how it should be done...….
Nice work. One tip i didnt see on the vid , when using crowsfeet socket on a torque wrench the actual torque reading is increased and needs to be compensated for.
In the middle of fixing up a 400 SuperSport right now and your video has been mega helpful! I'm going through the carbs right now. Keep it up, cant wait to see it done!
Every time I watch something I'm super impressed, now I just need to learn how to do all the plating and get a sand blaster for when I actually get around to resto'ing my old Honda :D
Gran trabajo. Que recuerdos, desmonté varias veces el motor de mi PASO 750 del 89, siempre el mismo problema, pistón trasero destrozado por que se salia el clip que sujetaba el bulón del pistón.
The outside of those cases made me think you must have fished the bike out of a canal! Anyhoo, very satisfying to watch and I'm looking forward to the next installment. 😎👍
Man you are very um good at cleaning the motors! I’m tearable about cleaning them I just try to get them running and go play. But seeing this just makes my jaw drop!
Great work, mate! You always make this look so easy... take the engine apart, make the parts look all new, casually put it all back together... ah, it's fun to watch. Thanks for sharing... and have a pleasant Holiday Season!
Love all your restos , especially the bikes . Straightforward stuff . Refreshingly free of newsboy caps on back to front or yellow waistcoats or brand new fake old overalls . . And other such bollocks..
You make it all look easy which means you've done this many times over. Great workmanship and the videos are enthralling. So many times this kind of video is all about the person and packed with head shots and verbal nonsense, but not you. Keep it up I look forward to each update.
Not often i can see on UA-cam professional rebuild/work done on a engine (especially on a Ducati) Very good. you are a pro and that can be seen from a looong way ! wish you all the best
The result of the exterior restoration is spectacular. Great job although I wish the engine had been completely redone but I repeat, an incredible job.
Nicely done. VERY fortunate with the condition of the engine internals! That probably saved you a lot of money not only in parts but in potential machine work.
Judging by the amount of rust behind some of the case covers it looks like the engine ingested some water at a point before it was rebuilt. The fact that you had to do very little to it except some surface refinishing does show the quality of this engine.
Joined instantly, loved the video content and the stages of the process and explanation of details and small tricks and hints. Loved the Scottish accent as well. Cheers mate !!!
I used race a pantah in the 80s that was a trip down memory lane. Thanks, back then I used some fishing scales and a foot long spanner to do the head nuts.
Actually, watching the way you work gives me the confidence to tackle a few jobs myself, (although I must add the jobs I'm referring to are not of the complexity of your Duke project). Anyway, thanks again for the inspiration. Keep up the good work and keep inspiring part-timers like me.
Great series, especially since I’d love to do a Ducati next! Quick question though, I know you use Deox to remove the oxidisation, however I’m keen to know what the multiple boxes of fluid are that you use for the hardware. Are you plating them, and if so are you able to share what you’re using for that process. TIA!
great vids, had a couple of 900SS over the years im off work ill (stroke) at 47yo, but when im strong enough I will take on a project like this to help in my rehab, thanks for my fix of bikes
@@RRCRestoration Ive gone from racing super bikes, to trying to use a zimmer lol Im lucky as im going to be ok ish. Your channel and other good ones keep me sane, well ive always been nuts any way... keep up your good work and vids and thank you for your kind words!
you would think that this being a motorcycle it would be a timing chain drive for the cams etc... but its a blooming dreaded belt.... i hate timing belt drive on cars! never mind a motorcycle.... but i like the restoration and how its got on.... keep them coming... hope everyone has a happy christmas.. take care...
Welcome back mate, and another great video👍 👍👍 I was just as surprised as you when I saw the inside of the engine, absolutely mint condition! It will save you quite a lot of work AND money! 🛠💷😊
I had one of these...very nice motor. Mine showed a lot of swarf on the oil sump drain bolt magnet after careful running in....nothing afterwards but that always made me wonder if the factory hadn't prepped the engine properly after assembly. Rectifier diode was problematic and a known fault...possibly badly specified as it was known to fry and the clutch was a little graunchy if you ever dropped it a bit too quickly. Other than that it was a lovely little bike. Great job...hope it rewards you with a lot of smiles per mile.
How helpful was this! Not only for my speed triple but I have a Ducati Monster S4 Senna with badly painted engine. Don't feel so daunted about giving a respray a try now!!! Keep up the great work and looking forward to the next video
@someone123 Yeah my mechanics is on another level really nice guy aswell ive spoken to him a few times, would love to try and do a project with him one day.
Another mint episode! Enjoyed watching it with a cuppa tea n a mince pie. Thanks for you taking the time to setup/record/edit, I can imagine it can be very time consuming. All the best for Christmas and a happy New Year.
Thank you for leaving a kind comment :) Yeah your totally correct ive figured out that a 20 minute job off camera takes about 2 hours on camera by the time youve set up, taken a shot changed angles, made sure youve done the job correctly then edited it so yup very time consuming business but i love making these videos for you guys so its all worth it :) Merry Xmas to you too.
I absolutely enjoy your restoration videos. I am trying to do similar work as you restoring my classic car engine. Could you please tell me what powder you used on the parts to clean them? Maybe you could show us a bit on your process how to renew all the bolts and nuts. Would be amazing if you could share some of your knowledge with us
You literally skipped over the one exact part I'm trying to see how to remove.. the belt pully wheels .... gahhh. My paper manual, great as it is, shows pictures of wheels I don't have. I know you have to stop rotation of the wheel while removing the nut, but is the nut the 4 notched ring? I suppose I need 2 special tools for this: one to hold the cam, another to spin the nut. all this so I can remove 3 of the 8 head bolts you can't remove without removing the belt pully wheel guards.... sorry to gripe. love your series! its helped me a ton in my first stip-down-restore project.
Wow! What a beauty! You lucked out with the internals; quite a contrast from the scabby exterior! You need to do more of these videos; I thoroughly enjoyed your Honda Cub series, too. Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones :-)

You make it look so easy. No scraped knuckles, no cursing and lots of patience. I am envious of your skills my friend.
Pleasure to see you back again ;) Haha i can assure you behind the scenes theres many a curse word flying around ;) haha
I dont know about other viewers. The cleaning processes are my favorites bits. Im sure its very time and labor intensive. Very much appreciated.
Better than factory. Not sure how you do it. Love the videos. I’ll most likely watch this one two or three more times.
Thank you for your kind comment and im glad you like my videos. It just takes a lot of hard work and patience ;)
How nice that engine was inside somebody must of cared for it for a while, now it's getting the attention it deserves
Yeah it really was amazing pulling those casings and being greeted by new internals when i was expecting a true horror story haha.

just found your channel. enjoying every minute of it. better than netflix.

I work on Ducatis, BMW and Triumph here in the states. Very impressed with your work as well as other rebuilds you have done. Keep up the great work.
Thank you very much :) Nice mix of bikes you get to work on over there.

Don't know how I ended up here but glad I did, very satisfying to watch and an amazing job. Well done sir
Thank you for watching :)
Wow what a difference 25 minutes of work can do! Nice work , its looking mint.
Perfect restore👏🏻
ducati air-cooled V2 is a pretty memorable engine👍🏻
Mate, the outside of that engine was putrid. Great job of bringing life back to this beauty.👍🏻👍🏻
I my head I swear I can already hear the engine! Stunning restoration.
Not long to wait now till you can hear it for real ;)

I am enjoying a lot thia restoration! You take a lot of care to the detail! Awesome result!!! Looking forward to see more vídeos of thoa serie

Beautiful job. Please describe your plating process next time. Would be very interested.
Im going to make a video about my plating process as lots of you guys are very interested in it ;)
wow It is amazing how clean the inside of the engine was compared to the outside !!
