Always look forward to the unique tiny homes you feature but as my grandmother might say, " this one takes the cake"! The only one I ever saw was in poor condition. So happy Nick took the incentive to make this home such a special, unique and beautiful home! Way to go Nick!!!💗
In the early seventies I worked for Dalgety NZ Ltd. who were agents for the futuro houses . One was installed just out of Dunedin and I recall we were called out one morning to rescue the lady occupant who had stepped outside to hang the washing . I think the door closed behind her and wouldn't open again ! There was also another model called the "venturo" which was square with rounded corners. Awesome video 👍!
I remember being fascinated by one these as a young teen growing up in Colorado. On day trips Up in the mountains. Especially on the drive to Estes Park from Denver. We used to drive by one saucer seemingly dangerously close, less than 18ft. back from a limestone cliff face with some pine trees obsuring, the view of the back third of the saucer with a drop of 20 ft. Right by the Interstate Highway. You could see 2/3 of the saucer on the left hand side as you drove West . In the Woody Allen movie 'Sleeper' a comedy Didn't one of these futuristic saucer shaped houses get used as a movie prop; both for outdoor and indoor scenes. I think it was this very Saucer in Colorado used in the movie. I think it was With Woody Allen and an actress don't remember the actresses name. Not only did Nick create an amazing space in this Futuro House, but the way he designed the grounds just makes it a completely amazing environment. It is so lovely to see when things are done so well and so completely.

This is like stepping back in time. I remember the 70s (as an adult) and this renovation just tickles me no end. The purple, the orange, the decorating details are all perfect.
Having lived in the 70s, Nick's house is like a time capsule. The purple was also the colour of our 70s car.. A great outcome. A wonderful restoration. Congratulations Nick.
I still love those colors. We had an orange sofa , our bedspread was orange and red. People thought I was crazy back then, and at 72 they feel the same way. I love vivid colors. They came out with a bright orange car now and had to talk to the owner at the shopping center. I thought it was so beautiful. I also have lime green now as my accent colors. Lol

The Futuro homes were really ahead of their time. Perfect living space for a single person, a couple, or a small family. Versatile and practical, with a very organic design. Using more modern resin and glass techniques, these could be built relatively cheaply and would literally last forever with very little maintenance. Could even create a 10m version with a little more space for more family members. Makes me smile just looking at it.
Awesome how he has created the interior as close to the original style as possible. I also used to go past a Futuro house as a child in the early 80s, I believe it was used as an office! (in Petone, NZ)
I love everything about this. Not only has he breathed new life into his Futuro and given it a unique identity, he’s thought beyond the envelope of the home and given it a sense of place in the larger context of the site. This is unquestionably brilliant.
Whaaaat that is sooo coool. Brilliant job Nick. I can say I never seen a house like this only on The Jetsons😀 I love it and license plate says future ya gotta love it. The lights are cool, love green 💚, the colors inside are inviting and fun ❤️💙💜 Beautiful shot with the two rainbows Rasa. Thanks Bryce and Rasa for sharing.
This was the MOST fun/interesting episode. Honestly, it has left me more interested in Nick than in the home. I want to know what makes this guy tick and everything else about him. He's so cool and likable. edit - After reading Tony Palmer's comment and doing a little digging, I'm CONVINCED for Nick's next project he needs to do a Venturo home. On the same site as this Futuro, if the lot is large enough. It would be the GREATEST TRIBUTE to Finnish architect Matti Suuronen.
Very interesting and incredibly impressed by this build. I lived through the 70s and don’t recall this particular home but it was a colorful period of time
What fun it was to be able to view this amazing futuristic structure, with so many, many interesting aspects and touches and colors inside! Wow! Nick is a really cool guy, with good vibes. I wish him well with his 2nd project. I loved this tour!
Wow. What an amazing backyard, landscaping/ everything is is well done. The Furturo house is a blast.. being a 70's girl this was a total trip in time. The dishes really took me back and the games. What a fun place to visit.
Oh my God, this house is awesome. What a brilliant design, I love the colors and every other things about it. I can see myself living in it. I hope that you are doing well with it because it worth every penny. 💗
I remember one of these houses being somewhere near Levin NZ in the 80's. It was green and abandoned.... 13hours later my memory returns.... It was in Thames and it was in the year 2000
I am dying. I was a little kid in the 70's but I clearly remember my parents bedroom being Purple, Orange and White. You hit the nail on the head with this one. Its gorgeous.
As soon as I saw this ultra cool house, I thought of the Tubbytronic Superdome and then....there they are!!! 💜💚💛❤️ W🧡W! I felt so excited being invited into this house and looking around all the rooms. I was a kid growing up in the 70s. I loved watching Dr. Who and I remember having a dream that I lived in a beautiful futuristic purple house. I was so disappointed when I woke up, but my folks let me paint my bedroom walls purple! 😁💜👌🏼
The child in me is squealing with joy and excitement. Thanks for recreating and bringing this special design back to life 🙌💕🎉🎊✨💫💛 magic really does exist in the world , love everything about this, including all the outside elements and especially the lighting. Fantastic episode 🎊🎉💕
Watching this video was a blast! I could tell how excited Bryce was with his use of “dude!” “totally!” “cool!” and “wicked!” Sooooo much fun watching Bryce having so much fun! From someone who grew up in the 60s and 70s, this was groovy, man! I miss fondue parties, but still have our fondue set! 😊🥰
Wow! This just carries me back in time & into the future again. I was a hippie in the 70's, it was a wild age. This is iconic. He did a great job of catching the style, well, ONE style of the era. Once again you found a unique way to live big in a tiny house. Thanks❣️
This is beyond stunning and I'm in absolute awe of what Nick has accomplished with this Futuro. And Nick's easy laugh, it made me smile every time I heard it. And Bryce, you looked like a kid with a new toy here. For so many reasons, this is among my favourite episodes. 👽
I can't believe he doesn't live here! Very generous of him to share it with the world. If I renovated one like this I would put a circular hollow core in the center, divide it in pie shaped wedges and have doors opening to each room from the vertical core providing storage for each "room". I would build the circular core only to accessible storage height rather than to the ceiling and on top of the core storage ceiling I would have some unbelievably cool lights that rotate so they can be seen from every "room". I would also make more of a statement with the kitchen and bath. They were both a little small and there is space to spare from the main area. I'm an interior designer.
Well talk about bringing back old memories. When we would drive to Thames there would be one just before the old bridge. So cool that this one has been restored.
My usual complain about tiny houses being too bland and colourless - definitely can't complain about that with this epic colourfest! Love, love, LOVE it!
I grew up in Hillcrest in San Diego. Back in the early 70's there was one of these behind a business strip on 5th Ave between Robinson and University Ave. I used to ride my bike down 4th Ave and up 5th Ave. before and after school. I remember one day riding up the street and seeing a driveway between 2 businesses that dropped down and around the back. Being bored and curious I went down the driveway and this thing was just sitting there. it was kind of beat up and someone lived in it but I never saw who. always thought it was really cool and would and would ride past from time to time.
What a great episode. Loved the nod to the Skysphere, which is still one of my favorite homes from back in the early days of LBIATH. I have been fortunate enough to have been in two of the Futuro's. One was in Nelson in the 1970s, and the other was on display at the Christchurch Botanic Gardens around 2004. They were both in original condition, more to show off their practicality than their style. But this episode shows the potential that these fibreglass wonders had. No room for dull neutral colours and minimalism. The futuro screams Brady Bunch holidays on acid.
Fun fact, there used to be a whole bunch of these near the Green Bay, New Taipei City, Taiwan. They were already in an abandoned state when I was younger (around late 90s to early 2000s), and this video made me wonder if they’re still there or if they were demolished in the past few years.(haven’t been there in a long time.) I always liked how they looked and it’s fascinating to see one in such a good condition.
I grew up in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. Not far from where I lived was one of these Futuro homes. I always wanted to see what it was like inside. Thanks for showing this incredible place. The funny thing is, the one where I grew up, also had a dog house designed exactly the same! But I like the yard in this video much better.
This is one of the coolest designers I've ever seen on your show!! I love his passion and enthusiasm. I would love to hang out and listen to you both talk all day!!!
You could turn that first bunk room in to a closet space if you wanted to live in it full time. (My personal favorite thing he had in there was the coffee mug "Don't talk to strangers")
What would give more storage would be underfloor, there's lots of space there and not much I imagine is being used. He could put in hatches in the floor to access storage. Just a thought, love what he's done with it, I hope you can go back to see him once he's done his second one!
Oh man this is so amazing! What an absolute legend for doing this! In a world that’s a big ugly these days he’s created his own time warp back to the 70’s 😍 so damn cool!!
The wood deck looks like a tractor beam when you look at it from above. The lights help sell that idea too. You can tell a lot of design ideas went into this space.
I love the designs and colors of this. Really fun. One question though, what's in that curved space under the floor? Wouldn't that solve the storage problem?
I rarely ever comment on your videos but this channel and another tiny house channel always find the coolest tiny homes and alternative living. This one is my favorite!!
I love this home, so cool. I was a teenager in the 70s so I remember going into some people's homes and seeing similar colors and decor often in the rec room. I had one of those flip numbers type alarm clocks, mine might have been a radio too. My sister had orange shag carpeting in her bedroom, you had to rake it with a carpet rake, lol. One thing I do wonder about the home is alternate entrance and exit methods. You need more than one way in and out. Also will the door hatch open if there's a power failure or dead battery? Are any of the windows operational? I really hope you will go visit the next house when it's completed.
I had a red flip number alarm clock, a lemon yellow lamp with matching shade. I designed my own room--on paper only--with primary colors. My sis & I had a printed folding cardboard pink and orange cardboard table. The modern stuff was mixed with fake colonial furniture pieces my grandmother bought, ordinary furniture store stuff. This was a fun walk down memory lane, this episode.
The only thing that could make this home any "Cooler" is if it could slowly spin around!! 🤔 🤣 🛸 👽 I would love to spend some time checking everything out up close. Love it!! ✌️ ❤️
I love this design! It's remarkably TARDIS like. I thought it would be a bit dark and cramped inside, but it was far from it. With a little tweaking (like added storage) this could be easily a full time home.
This home was so unique. I loved everything about the Futuro home and the area Nick built up around it. Outstanding job. I may be jealous. Yeah, I am. Thank you for sharing. 👽

Awesome how he has created the interior as close to the original style as possible. I also used to go past a Futuro house as a child in the early 80s, I believe it was used as an office! (in Petone, NZ)
I've seen those houses before, but that one is spectacular. Thank you for sharing
Hi 👋 how are you doing?
I grew up in the 70’s. I love it and purple is my favorite color. That king size bed that slides away, that is so cool!
Hi 👋 how are you doing?
This video made me smile from start to finish. More of these unconventional tiny homes please!
I had a really bad day, but after watching this I can't stop smiling :)
If he grew up in Christchurch I remember driving past the same Futuro and wondering what it was! This is very cool, super unique and really well done
was that one orange, over on the east side of town?
Very interesting and incredibly impressed by this build. I lived through the 70s and don’t recall this particular home but it was a colorful period of time
Wow. Never in my 68 years have I seen anything so fun and imaginative. Bravo!
I hadn't ever heard of these types of homes before, how cool!
What fun it was to be able to view this amazing futuristic structure, with so many, many interesting aspects and touches and colors inside! Wow! Nick is a really cool guy, with good vibes. I wish him well with his 2nd project. I loved this tour!
I have seen one of these before...great to see some different tiny homes! Cheers Bryce and Rasa.
I had only seen photos of these before. It was so cool to see one in person!
It's cute i like the design and it's a unique dream house to be with...
It was in Thames and it was in the year 2000
I remember that one. My father told us it was a spaceship 🤣🤣🤣
I am dying. I was a little kid in the 70's but I clearly remember my parents bedroom being Purple, Orange and White. You hit the nail on the head with this one. Its gorgeous.
As soon as I saw this ultra cool house, I thought of the Tubbytronic Superdome and then....there they are!!! 💜💚💛❤️
My spare room is purple 💜

Wowzers, that is incredible and so colourful and it literally makes one feel happy
😲 oh my SPECTACULAR
Watching this video was a blast! I could tell how excited Bryce was with his use of “dude!” “totally!” “cool!” and “wicked!” Sooooo much fun watching Bryce having so much fun! From someone who grew up in the 60s and 70s, this was groovy, man! I miss fondue parties, but still have our fondue set! 😊🥰
Hello 👋how are you doing?
WOW ❤️ This is absolutely stunning ❤️ What an amazing job you did ❤️
I love his passion for his house and the 70s vibe. It would be such a blast to stay there for a weekend with some friends!
We need one from Africa please.Much love from Kenya🇰🇪
Outstanding!!!
Bryce you find the most creative homes!! Love your shows!
Hello how’re you doing?
So amazing. I feel like the 70s were so much more fun when it came to decor !
This is such a cool holiday home. Good job Nick and thank you Bryce and Rasa for the wonderful presentation.
Wow this tiny house is amazing. I've always wanted to live in space ship, I love the colors and design.
Kudos to Nick for preserving this beauty and a huge thank you for showing it to us. Such a cool house!
Fun fact, there used to be a whole bunch of these near the Green Bay, New Taipei City, Taiwan.
They were already in an abandoned state when I was younger (around late 90s to early 2000s), and this video made me wonder if they’re still there or if they were demolished in the past few years.(haven’t been there in a long time.)
I always liked how they looked and it’s fascinating to see one in such a good condition.
I think they were demolished
I grew up in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. Not far from where I lived was one of these Futuro homes. I always wanted to see what it was like inside. Thanks for showing this incredible place. The funny thing is, the one where I grew up, also had a dog house designed exactly the same! But I like the yard in this video much better.
This is one of the coolest designers I've ever seen on your show!! I love his passion and enthusiasm. I would love to hang out and listen to you both talk all day!!!
I have no words to describe my feelings. What a beautiful, crazy, lovely and insane house!!!
You could turn that first bunk room in to a closet space if you wanted to live in it full time. (My personal favorite thing he had in there was the coffee mug "Don't talk to strangers")
You never cease to surprise us! Thanks so much you two. Cheers
What would give more storage would be underfloor, there's lots of space there and not much I imagine is being used. He could put in hatches in the floor to access storage. Just a thought, love what he's done with it, I hope you can go back to see him once he's done his second one!
I had the same thoughts, just like in caravan 🚐 homes
I stayed here last week. It was such a great fun experience. Loved everything about the entire place. The lighting really made it pop at night time.
Oh man this is so amazing! What an absolute legend for doing this! In a world that’s a big ugly these days he’s created his own time warp back to the 70’s 😍 so damn cool!!
Best episode EVER!!!! I LOVE the 70s!!! The music, clothes, appliances, decor, was AMAZING!!!
Back when we still dreamed of what the (hopeful) future might be like.
It will be! 🤗
So cool! Thanks Bryce for making this video and Thanks to Nick for allowing us to join in the fun 😀
Hello how’re you doing?
The wood deck looks like a tractor beam when you look at it from above. The lights help sell that idea too. You can tell a lot of design ideas went into this space.
Beautiful. Money is no object with this man. So cool!
Times like this I wish my dad taught me more about renovation instead of raising me to be a goal oriented person.
I love this so much! I was 12 years old in 1970. I would have loved it then too. Excellent job.
I love the designs and colors of this. Really fun. One question though, what's in that curved space under the floor? Wouldn't that solve the storage problem?
Could be a food cellar
This was a fun walk down memory lane, this episode.
i fell in love with future home great design the workmanship is fantastic. it's a very cool home. well done nick.
The only thing that could make this home any "Cooler" is if it could slowly spin around!! 🤔 🤣 🛸 👽
I would love to spend some time checking everything out up close. Love it!! ✌️ ❤️
Amazing to live the life like this. Very unique. Great job!
Hello how’re you doing?
I love this design! It's remarkably TARDIS like. I thought it would be a bit dark and cramped inside, but it was far from it. With a little tweaking (like added storage) this could be easily a full time home.
This home was so unique. I loved everything about the Futuro home and the area Nick built up around it. Outstanding job. I may be jealous. Yeah, I am. Thank you for sharing. 👽
Dragon Ball house
Cute and amazing tiny home.
Hello 👋 how’re you doing?
