  • Join us as we talk with Amber Carter Jones and her daughter Rory to hear their story about how at the age of 16, after completing many popular structured literacy interventions, that for Rory the “wheels were coming off the bus” and all of the accommodations and supports were no longer able to empower her to excel at her true ability level. With rapidly Increasing anxiety, increasing moods and frustrations, and not having enough hours of the day to “work harder”, this lead the Jones family to look for better options that could fully remediate and empower Rory’s skills and abilities, instead of just compensating accommodating, and using technology to work around difficulties.
Learn how Rory has NOW progressed from a struggling 16-year-old to an independent, fully capable and highly successful architecture university student, who has completed nearly 3 years of that highly competitive and challenging degree program.
This podcast helps parents know how to expect more from Dyslexia and learning difficulties programs, far more than just small progress over years and years of instruction, that still leaves students struggling and not fully independent.
Dyslexia Success Stories empower parents to expect more and find better services, so their students will truly succeed at their full potential, without continuous need for supports, accommodations, and assistive technologies.

I wish I could hear from Rory more. She has nothing to be ashamed of. When I went to California State University, San Marcos I preferred to books on tape. I don't have dyslexia, but I've epilepsy. Congratulations to Rory with the support she has had.
