Nifty little glove box tool
Seeker 4 mini is exactly what I've been looking for to use around work, easy to keep in my pocket or stick in my bag and be able to use at a moments notice to look inside tanks and in tight spaces for finer work! Love all my Olight products so far which I've used for personal EDC and for camping, as well as to keep in the car for emergencies!
I've been wanting to find a light like the seeker 4 to use as a edc they are such a solid company.
Would like to try the uv to find scorpions too! Gotta save up.
I'm a wildland firefighter and I carry Olight exclusively on my person due to it's reliability and long lasting battery. I would use this on the job extensively and the UV light I would use at home to hunt for scorpions and other awesome bioluminescent bugs with my kids.
They really should make a travel-friendly multitool. Its so rare they'd basically be the go-to company for it.
Thats kool,i love olight stuff,i carry a Leatherman surge,i got a Leatherman leap as a collection piece since they quit making them,id love to have that in my edc or a pocket friendly tool.
Why they (Nextool & Olight) haven't included a god damn boxcutter instead of the useless can opener, or made a travel friendly version without a blade, IS MINDBOGGLING!
I'm actually thinking of modding one with the box opener from a Huohou mini
The fact practically no one has made a travel friendly multitool is baffling.
So they can sell a p2, p3.... and a p4.... and a limited edition p4 in a colour called ghost mist or some-other-such cool name....
I’m not sure I agree with replacing the steel spacers with plastic and hollowing out the handle. You might save an ounce, but the compromise on strength and rigidity might be too much.
I bout the Sailor Mini, it’s a great multi tool, what I like especially about it is the toughness. Yes it’s not as light as a Leatherman squirt, but the size and build quality are unique and still viable for keychain carry.
They should make a travel friendly one with a file in place of the knife blade. Even a basic double cross cut file would be sufficient for a travel multi tool.
Love knowing who is making the products for OLight.
I currently edc the Olight Arkfeld UV. I like having UV on my edc. However, it is for a reason that probably not a lot of people relate to, but perhaps some will. Scorpions....I keep scorpions, and often use them in educational programs, and scorpions glow under UV light. It's a quick way to find them in their enclosures, and when used in the educational programs both kids and adults are fascinated by how they glow. If you live in an area (such as South West USA) where there are scorpions in the wild, this could also be useful. I used to have dedicated UV flash lights for this but it's nice having it right on my edc. Also there are some rocks (yooperlights in my area, I'm sure there are others) that glow under UV and you use a UV flash light to locate them.
If dealing with scorpions happens often because of job or hobby, you should still have a dedicated UV light for it just for extra power, though having a backup is good too haha

I grabbed a couple Otacle P1s during the sale to try them out. We will see how they hold up. I like that they are getting into the multitool line.

i think the seeker 4 mini could be a good light to take for geocaching. sometimes you need UV light to see hints or other marks leading you to the goal, you won't have to carry a dedicated UV light if you got this on you

I am a sucker for red and black, I picked up the mini 4 and pen in red.
I'm not sure exactly how often I'd use it but uv light verification of US money.
That plastic strip glows.
The different value bills glow different colors.
Great for my firefighting job, would be nice and handy
I might have expected a little LED light on it somehow tbh! Waiting for more unique multifunction devices and voice controls on torches myself.
I have a freeze and two different Mettle’s that I like quite a bit. I also have some great Kizers. When choosing a knife to buy for a friend I opted for the Mettle and that particular knife had terrible detent. Almost impossible to fully deploy with the flipper tab. Most would thoroughly check their knife upon receipt but wanted to throw it out there to encourage one to do so. Thanks for the video.

Im glad i didn't get this multitool, because i already have the mini sailor and i like the color better! I knew it was a copycat but like you said its not a bad thing, i think this could be very positive collaboration..
Olight has just partnered with Roxon to release an OS2 knife that is a replica of the KS2 Elite except 4116 throughout.
regarding the otacle. I was able to get some spare blades (with the three holes) for this tool at the hardware store without a problem. However I live in Austria and I don't know if it's the same in the US.
The driver of p1 is good because it's not a powder alloy. And I think it would be great if the wire cutter comes out with a replaceable version.

I love my otacle multi mini, but it needs a file, even if just for nails. Switched to the Nextool with scissors for now
When you need to go to bed after a hard days work, but Maxlvledc has a multitool review. One of the UV uses is checking for pests on garden plants at night. Also to the comment that can openers are useless... Am I the only one that eats canned food at work or on road trips? That's an essential for a multitool.
Its a bottle opener which is the most useless for people. You literally can take any item and open a bottle using leverage. It can open a bottle itself without a physical dedicated bottle opener! But you can’t open a can with a bottle opener. Its harder to attempt to open a can without the ones that already are manufactured to open with a tab.
@@rafaeltorre1643 I agree that bottle openers aren't all that necessary, they're usually not made to take up much space though so I can see them being useful for people that have to open many bottles at once. Though I've never once used a bottle opener.
Normal cans without the pull tab are very easy to open with a multitool can opener. As a bachelor when I didn't have one of those crank can openers I opened all of my cans with the can opener on my multitool. I'm pretty fast with it.
@@MkGreene Yeah a can opener is useful. The pull tabs are easy to open by hand. Im someone has a hand disability it would be a lot more useful to use a tiny keychain one with included top slot to lift the tabs up on anything plus it acts as a great pry bar and maybe 1.5 to 2.5 inches at the most on the common standard ones and very slim. Plus if they need that to open a soda can they definitely can’t use a multi tool because they can’t pull them out. Its much harder than a soda tab. If someone has to open a lot of bottles I would think a duel use edc item would be much more desirable. Example: if they smoke they can get a lighter with a built in bottle opener. Or a pen with a bottle opener and pulled it off their shirt in less than a second instead of having it deployed out or opening and closing it multiple times per day. But yeah, can opener is useful. Especially if it is added to one piece like a file and you can have it without losing that tool space for something else.
@@rafaeltorre1643 That's a good point. Someone that really uses a bottle opener is probably not going to be using the one on a multitool
I've only really used a UV light for charging up glow in the dark material and tape when disc golfing at night. I would think exterminators use them frequently for finding urine trails and such. Can't think of many more practical uses.
You would be surprised how many use’s there are, especially people in specific fields. Then as an edc you can take each use like cleaning in hundreds of different situations to sanitize or prevent exposure to different chemicals and fluids.
Seeker 4 Mini would be great for First Responders..

With you about a bladeless option for that multitool. I'd grab that in a second! Seems an underserved little niche.
Bladeless would be good especially for the UK and UK airports with carry-on only people haha
The Mettle (OD G10) has been my EDC. Great knife! What are your thoughts on it compared to your other button lock knives?

What's the price

The Dewalt 20v is just as light as the competitor's 12v. I am extremely pleased with the overall performance and battery life of this tool. As far as oscillators go, they just aren't very ergonomic tools. The dewalt oscillators have an offset handle that do make them somewhat more ergonomic than the competitors' oscillators.
i like the sailor mini, but i wouldn't pay an extra for the same tool rebranded with only aesthetic changes...

The Olight Otacle P1 is 100% just a rebranded Nextool Sailor Mini.
Not that it's a bad thing. The sailor mini is a very well made keychain multitool.
I think it has a good steel 10cr13 not sure but similar nice try olight

@@jack.charlesc4750 the Olight version has 30CR13 (3CR13), Nextool's website shows the sailer mini having 420J2. Which is a bit harder of a steel, very similar similar though.
@@jack.charlesc4750 I've often thought that 2, with 2 93mm alox handles, folding around the plier head, tools on the outside. 93mm blade & scissors on the outside edges of handle 1, woodsaw & metal file/saw on the outer edges of handle 2. That would leave room for 4 shorter tools I think, in between those outer tools and at the opposite end to the plier head - the 2 openers, reamer, and an inline Phillips would be perfect.

Ok the Seeker 4 mini is bigger than I thought...I really miss their old pocket clips. Really wish they would change their current standard. I love the form factor of the Baton 3, but the clip is absolute trash.
Does it explode like their lights? Personally think that's a pro and not a con.
I love how people bring up this story about a single instance 6-10 years ago which was caused by a user putting a battery in the light it wasn't designed for .🤦

Now I feel ripped off. Paid $25 (with discount) from white mountain knives.
I really used to Love Olight, Over 30% of my lighting was theirs(out of 150 or so flashlights and headlamps). Now I just can't buy them any more. Every week it feels like a "NEW" one is released! and yet other than outer design they are now pretty much all the same with functions and lumens... They have just Flooded their brand with pointless releases.. They need to step back, look at what is actually good and refocus there...
NexTool is Xiaomi, it is way bigger than Olight 😂

Nope, like many reviewers we get stuff sent to us early to check out...some times I like things...sometimes I dont.don't. And like anyone with an olight account I get 10% commission. If I didn't genuinely like olight products I would recommend them, and often I don't like a product.
Proprietary blades on a utility knife based tool = a waste of your time and money. No exceptions imo

Sog isn't exactly what i'd call quality either most of sog multi-tools and knives are overpriced and have shitty quality control as is and i don't like gambling with my money on getting a sog tool that gets sent out of the factory with no qc to speak of.

something that small doesnt need to be made lighter. you dont make something out of metal and then request it out of plastic. thats downgrading, not upgrading. plastic doesnt improve working tools
Let's be honest...it's not a hard working tool..I can break any plier of this size with just my hands..so the plastic is not an issue imo

@@maxlvledc I had the Gerber dime on my car key ring and pretty sure it wore on my ignition the key just slides out. I kinda want the Gerber armbar but it's pretty pricey for me. Gerber shard worth getting for edc?

UV light? (1) Most practical application IMO is to detect counterfeit bills. 💵 I got nailed at a gas station when I was told my two $20 bills were counterfeit and they came from an ATM! 😱 (2) More subtle reason-all birds can see UV light. I have birds as pets so kinda cool to see what they can see! 🦜
