My father, who served 2 tours in Vietnam and retired a Lt. Col., is who taught me to camp, hike, and gave me my love for the outdoors, knives and gear. He passed a year an a half ago and I'm doing my best to honor him by passing those skills on to my 3 sons (9 year old and twin 5 year olds). Big shoes to fill. Miss you everyday, Pop.

There are a lot of fathers that are heroes. My Dad was special and my hero for many reasons. My father was the Chief of Police in the town I grew up in, Enfield NH. He was the Chief for 35 years. This was your typical small town America. I could write a book about my Father and I probably should, he did so much. I grew up in the Police station. I kid you not.
The Police Station was in the front room or my house. Opie Taylor had nothing on me. For many years my Fathers police cruiser was our personal car, blue light, radio and all. The town bought their first police cruiser in 1964. My Dad was the crossing guard at the elementary school in the mornings. I would ride to school in the police cruiser everyday. I used to ride with my Dad all the time. We were buddies, he taught me so much. He was an NRA Instructor and I learned about guns and gun safety from my Dad, the Chief. Our house was full of guns, it had to be. My dog growing up was also the police dog. He was a beautiful German Shepherd named Bruno. My Dad taught youth shooting classes. I was his helper. Of corse I shot a lot, more than any other kid and needless to say, not any of the kids could outshoot me, and most adults. My father has always been my hero and he was a hero to many. I could go on and on but there’s not enough time. I would love to tell my Fathers story to everybody. Even a book would need volumes. He passed away in 2007. I miss him so much. His picture is hanging in the new Enfield Police Station. He retired in 1977 after 35 years of service to the community as The Chief.

My dad was of the most brilliant people I have ever met. He would engineer beautifully simple solutions to every day problems. As an example, his side view mirror on his little pickup truck was cracked. Instead of buying an expensive replacement, he went to Dollar Tree, bought a makeup mirror, cut it with a glass cutter into the shape of the mirror and glued it to the existing mirror. You could tell which one he did it to because it didn't say "objects in mirror are closer than they appear" like the other side. Always thought that was such a clever dad-hack. Miss him dearly!

My Dad fought in WWII where he was in the third wave at Normandy at the age of seventeen. Like a lot of them at the time, he lied about his age to get in the fight. Didn't talk a lot about the battles. He just told us the funny stories that happened away from the fighting. He had a way of compartmentalizing things. He has been gone for 18 years now. I still honor him for the sacrifices he made the core values he taught me. I passed those on to my kids and they now pass them on to their kids. Thanks Dad!

After the war he served as a constable until the Korean conflict started and then he joined the Marine Corp and fought the Chinese and spent a winter stuck on some God forsaken hill cut off of reinforcements and resupply. Just tested it. I was able to get the P1 to snip strings down to 14, but my 11's and 9's would just bend. Of course, those were spare strings coiled up in their sleeves. Strings under tension would be a different story-I bet they'd cut. Can't confirm that right now as none of my strings are due to be changed. Sorry.
      Great question, though!

I play, and tech for other guitarists, and it's handy when you have to quick change a broken E string (I run 10's), and being able to snip the free end off the tuning peg for a clean look. My Leatherman Squirt does the trick. I also have the Olight Imini on my key ring hanging from my belt loop for backstage discrete light. Great vid thanks!

My dad has always let me have my own opinion on things. Even when I was obviously wrong 😅.

Now that the PS4 is dicontinued, the Olight might be the next best thing.....just wish it was USA Leatherman.

Please do a versus against a Nitecore.
In my experience they are superior.
    Welcome back!
