I'm not a lawyer but I think with 2nd degree murder, her intentions might play a part. Manslaughter, maybe not; but murder yes. To me, she showed her intentions when he was pleading to be let out saying he couldn't breathe, and she replied "you need to be quiet then.. Sshhh". Everyone knows what the outcome will be when a human being can't breathe.

She was charged with 2nd degree murder because they couldn't prove premeditation. If they could prove that she would have faced 1st degree murder. Google it.

Yes, like what she swore to on the stand, that she didn't want Brian and Lucas to just show up at her door the morning she woke up and found poor Jorge still in the suitcase, but dead, when she actually told the detectives on that very day & during her interrogation the next day, that she was supposed to have picked Lucas up at school at 3 pm!
She's so sick in the mind. There has been a video made by a UA-camr called Tankia's Two Cents about Sarah Boone's demerits from jail. Where there's a long list of everything she's done wrong while in jail to make the correction officers & other inmates lives hell. These are absolutely a part of what judge Kraynick will use for her pre-sentence investigation to determine the appropriate length of her sentence. Being that she still hasn't shown any remorse or contrition for poor Jorge, speaks to how truly horrible the woman is and rightly deserves a lengthy prison term.

Is everyone delusional?!!! Did everyone forget she beat him with a bat too and he had multiple blunt force traumas- we actually watched Sarah physically, mentally, and emotionally abuse Jorge right before our eyes and we worried that maybe she could’ve been scared possibly If he kinda may have been mad if she let him out. She’s trying to distract the jury with IF while we are watching Jorge EXPERIENCE ABUSE not kind of maybe abuse - ACTUAL ABUSE that led to his DEATH. When do we start caring for male victims as much as female. You are not allowed to “defend yourself” unless you ARE in EMINENT danger. She had ALL the control and as we saw and was abusing Jorge. Period. And she repeatedly said in her interrogation and on texts that she would get rid of him, who cares about him, and she was teaching him a lesson. This is the definition of 2nd degree murder. Guilty. 25 years-30 years min for the cruelty that Jorge died slowly knowing she didn’t care at all and mocked his death. What a horrific, worthless feeling. And brutally cruel way to die.

I was disgusted that the prosecution spent such little time on the cross examination! I am 100% against DV but I can’t believe they didn’t pull police records and counter her defense with police reports & photos of the many times Jorge was assaulted and injured by Sarah! Also, the prosecution should have exhibited screen shots of her phone use such as texts and pings of her phone that would have given her precise location within the townhouse and time stamps. Furthermore, why did they ONLY have Sarah show how much zipper space she left for Jorge?!? I fully expected her to act out the zipping part, how she moved the suitcase upward, how he ended up face down and how she moved him right side up. And I got whiplash when Sarah went from “laughing and laughing” to suddenly being terrified he was going to hurt her. Neither side worked that fact! Lastly, the prosecutor should have honed into WHY they were going to donate the suitcase?!? I suspect the zipper was broken! Perhaps that’s why George wasn’t able to unzip himself. 🥺

The prosecution is doing a TERRIBLE job. Why didn’t they question Sarah about her history with alcohol? Or how she was “forced” to hit Jorge with a bat in order to “keep him from escaping and harming her,” but then went up stairs to sleep without any worry about him getting out or concern about her safety if he did? Why was Jorge so silent during that last 22 second video? She claims nothing fell down the stairs that night, but both neighbors distinctly remembered it because it was so loud. Why didn’t they push her on all the other stuff she has conveniently forgotten?? Who else did she tell about Jorge “stabbing or burning” her? Drunks often hurt themselves by accident!
Why didn’t they ask the last witness if Sarah ever appeared drunk? Or stumbling?
Why didn’t they question Sarah’s ex. better about the mutual combat he witnessed between her and Jorge? Or Sarah’s behavior when drinking when they were together? Or if she has ever hurt herself when drunk? Or what she said when she called him that night? Why he deleted the call from his log?
There are a million other holes they could have poked in this defense. If Sarah gets off, it will be all of the prosecution’s fault! 😡 so freaking 😡
If/when she walks free, it will be all his fault. I hope he pays with his job, because there will be no justice for Jorge- and what’s worse, now other psychopaths will know that as long they’re the only person left to tell the story, they can make themselves any kind of victim they want. There isn’t anyone left to refuse their claims, and if they get lucky and have a weak prosecutor who does such a piss poor investigation, then they’ll easily get off and may even get a press tour out of it! This like watching Gypsy Rose get that horrible, unjust plea deal all over again! 😠

The apt was in her name. Jorge didn't have a job, so he didn't contribute anything to expenses. Her ex- husband Brian supported them. Why didn't she kick him out? Sarah also constantly bailed Jorge out of jail. She was afraid of Jorge? He was half the size of Brian. Half the time the police were breaking up the drunken fighting, it was Sarah beating on Jorge. She's had 4 years in a cell to come up with stories. Were I prosecuting, I would show that she's a liar. She's cold- hearted. She touched & moved the suitcase with no emotion. She ignored Jorge's pleas & teased him. Jorge had a lot of additional injuries. Sarah didn't call 911 first. She called Brian first. She never had DV syndrome because she dished it out as much as she took it. The apt was hers. She constantly bailed him out & she's also a liar. Also look at her neighbors' testimony.

She may have been abused - there was abuse on both sides. But, given that chronic heavy drinkers have issues with their red blood cells, anaemia and macrocytosis. It is just as easy to suffer marked bruising with a drunken fall. Regardless, they were together for almost 4 years. And her ex husband lived just down the road. But this is not battered spouse synfrome. It is a dysfunctional relationship and she pushed it all the way. With cruelty and malicious disrehard.. It wasn';t minutes, but hours that he went through, knowing she wasn't going to let him out.

Prosecution did not have 4 years to prepare. It wasn’t till this last lawyer came into the picture did battered spouse syndrome come into play. The previous lawyers probably rejected that defense from Sarah which might be why she didn’t get along with them.

The prosecutor has been so ineffective, she just might get off. They have no zeal or passion and the cross was lack luster !!!

Or they know their case and know that "zeal" isn't evidence. Can't believe you let Sarah gaslight you into forgetting the suitcase video didn't exist or the evidence that she was the abuser. They told us in hearings what they had if she claimed bss. Law profs will tell you the best cross is a short cross. They didn't need to waste time on her.

@@lisamcclendon2720 Now that the trial is over., I realize They didn’t need zeal. They had the rebuttal videos. I wasn’t saying anything about Sarah’s guilt. Clearly she was and is guilty. I was only commenting that the prosecutors didn’t seem to have a lot of passion and I was worried about the jury. But the rebuttal combined with Owen’s terrible closing, and of course the evidence, sealed her fate. I bet Sarah gets life!!! Check out legal vices early trial coverage for a great song about Sarah Boone and the suitcase.

Ana Garcia.....pay attention. Expert witness was dismantled today by the state. No matter the diagnosis, she murdered him.

Not disputing. Simply pointing out that the defense made some ground with the photos of her prior injuries. Whether the jury believes battered spouse syndrome- can’t say

When the prosecutor brought out the sc, he should have looked at the jury and said said "this is where a man died"

What was her reasoning for staying with Jorge if she was afraid of him?
    They didn't have children together.
They didn't have anything holding them together.
She had a car, a cellphone and money.
She could have left, or called 9-1-1 to help her leave.
She shows no remorse for her actions and she is trying to make Jorge look like he was the only Abuser in the relationship.
I think that she enjoyed having control over Jorge while he was struggling inside of the suitcase and begging for her to let him out of the suitcase.
I think that texts messages, the videos that she recorded and her actions show that she planned to murd3r Jorge.
She has tried to convince everyone that they were playing hide and seek and she just simply fell asleep and forgot to let Jorge out of the suitcase, but those videos prove otherwise..
    She's a coldhearted, evil monster.

Sarah was not scared for her life if she just went upstairs and went sleep. She could have left or called the police. There was no episode of violence during that day, she said everything was fine and they were having a good time. DV is a horrible thing, but I don't think she terrified as she described on the stand. I wonder if she called her ex husband first to convince him to get rid of the suitcase for her..He didn't take the bait.
