This is what casual fans fail to realize. Mayweather did a lot for the sport. His boxing style when he was younger was like no other. You could see at the start of his pro career he had attributes like no other fighter to date. You can tell when he was younger his ring IQ, his awareness, his accuracy was like no other. Now that he's older, some of that has slowed a bit but he still possess qualities that are rare amongst boxers, a skill that I do not think can ever be duplicated. This guys ring IQ, Pinpoint Accuracy alone beats most fighters. I said it then and I will say it now. Floyd Mayweather Junior cannot be beat by no one except himself. Its like the opponent is walking through a thick jungle with a machete and Mayweather is a sniper picking whatever shot he wants. Floyd is one of the very few boxers that i do believe if you put him literally in any era of boxing with anyone, (not saying he would be the best) but definitely would be one of the best, just for how very effective his fighting style is, particularly his defense. People need to understand that any athlete can be such a beast offensively, but defensively, that's a whole another story, it takes a lot of freaking training, more than you can imagine to be exceptionally great at defense in any sport like Floyd is in Boxing, that's what put him above almost every boxer and also why as he's getting older, he was getting better. Respect what he's capable of doing that no one before him like Ali, Ray Robinson, Tyson, RJJ, couldn't even do in their 20's as good as Floyd do in his 30's. There might never again be a fighter with the pure talent of Mayweather. He's a defensive specialist with a boxing IQ that may never be matched.
I agree with everything you said, but hear me out. Floyd has created a blueprint for boxing greatness. As with any sport or profession there is always going to be a progression in athleticism and intelligence. Someone is out there right now growing up with Floyd as his idol and will eventually prove to be in the conversation as one of the best ever. Floyd created the blueprint, but I know without a doubt someone will come along that is equally talented but will be perhaps more powerful and dominant in boxing. Floyd has has the same style his whole career what makes him great Is that he perfected his style though, where other boxers have switched up their style. Also the trainers in floyds corner have remained the same, where other boxers have switched up their trainers throughout their careers.

You can say what you like about Floyd, but he fought tough men from day one, and always found a way to come out on top. He's as clean as the nex guy and with a handful of others he helped keep the sport alive at time when it needed him most. He got robbed of Olympic Gold at the start of his career, and he came back with a determination that should be respected.
The Mayweather straight right is still a very fast effective punch in his arsenal but it was absolutely heat seeking guided supersonic missle in his prime......wow

Floyd is one of the very few boxers that i do believe if you put him literally in any era of boxing with anyone, (not saying he would be the best) but definitely would be one of the best, just for how very effective his fighting style is, particularly his defense. People need to understand that any athlete can be such a beast offensively, but defensively, that's a whole another story, it takes a lot of freaking training, more than you can imagine to be exceptionally great at defense in any sport like Floyd is in Boxing, that's what put him above almost every boxer and also why as he's getting older, he was getting better. Respect what he's capable of doing that no one before him like Ali, Ray Robinson, Tyson, RJJ, couldn't even do in their 20's as good as Floyd do in his 30's. There might never again be a fighter with the pure talent of Mayweather. He's a defensive specialist with a boxing IQ that may never be matched.

I agree with everything you said, but hear me out. Floyd has created a blueprint for boxing greatness. As with any sport or profession there is always going to be a progression in athleticism and intelligence. Someone is out there right now growing up with Floyd as his idol and will eventually prove to be in the conversation as one of the best ever. Floyd created the blueprint, but I know without a doubt someone will come along that is equally talented but will be perhaps more powerful and dominant in boxing. This is no disrespect to Floyd, more a point that humanity learns from greatness and eventually improves.
