In China, icar 03 (jeacoo j6) sales are very good, and 80% of them are purchased by women. It will also have an extended-range model (rev) on the market at the end of this year. The cooler looking icar 03t and icar v23 will also be launched in China at the end of this year
What I find interesting, is that the rear tailgate door opens out on the correct side for the Australian market, yet this vehicle is LHD! I've also noticed this feature on a couple of other vehicles you guys have tested in China recently. Most LHD vehicles with side opening rear doors, open out for LHD markets, yet this is the opposite!
It looks really good. I like this rugged futuristic look. But it would be great if they could change these i headlights and stop lights, so it is just one I before coming to Australia.
This car has an almost fully aluminium body, a rare thing with this price. I would have this instead of the Atto3. Chery's mechanical set up is known to be more reliable.
Typical indians 😂. This is far better than your mahindra crappy cars 😂. Also boxy SUV always look like this. And why you just bought the defender tho? 😂.
Little generic but like the overall design, functionality, and those cool headlights. Price and performance on point. I just hope not like most kitchen appliances. These vehicles actually last and not break down after a couple of years of ownership. Or seen as a thrown away item like most electrical items. It's great to see what's coming out of China. I'm sure Elon even subscribes to your channel. Good job, CarSauce.
Nah, when it comes to EV's Chinese are ahead of many top tier EV manufacturers - just take a look at BYD, the best-selling EV manufacturer in 2024, which is 🥁🥁....Chinese
22k australian dollar 4 seat suv that does 0-60 in 6 second and has all wheel drive? Did I read that correctly? so its half the price of a model 3 rear wheel drive? And the model 3 is already a steal in australia.
Have been waiting for something like that for YEARS. Though at that price I guess it's not going to have the needed range for Australia. We're going to need 450 km of country driving real world range minimum too do soft-roading. An 85 kwH battery might be needed. LOVE the interior colour and design, though the luggage space clearly sucks, and the seats don't fold flat. It's going to sell if it's priced anywhere near $30-$35k for the base.
Interweb tells me the average distance driven in Australia is ±12,100 km. (That's actually less than the UK!) 250km per week and solar on the roof? No worries? . I KNOW "Some do A LOT MORE!!!" . (BUT THAT means some do a lot LESS!)

As a Chinese studying in Australia right now I’m really curious about Aussie attitudes towards Chinese cars. I don’t expect US or EU much in trade as they do have domestic industries to protect and they see China as a threat. But do normal Australian embrace the Chinese cars or will you be like the US and EU as well?
Totally open to supporting Chinese cars as long as there is the service and support base established locally. Most times this gets outsourced to third parties and that then becomes a big issue for the customers
Australia will embrace the Chinese cars much as we did when the Japanese brands arrived here 50 plus years ago. People here just want good quality and value for money regardless of country of origin. If it’s good, people will buy. If the Chinese brands continue to cut prices without affecting quality they will dominate the market. Here’s hoping they do.
iCar 03, all road (but not exactly 4x4). have all required features with very reasonable price. the manufacturer is the 5th largest in china which also made omoda 5 & e5.

Icar03 lists ground clearance as 170mm yet Jaecoo J6 comes up in searches as 200mm. This could be a terminology difference. I am hoping for decent ground clearance on Aussie version.
Some countries list lowest clearance when fully loaded, some static clearance when unloaded. Some use both as minimum/maximum. So just a terminology thing. 200mm be acceptable, but prefer more.
EREV version would be perfect. Pure electric drivetrain at all times, maybe around 100 km pure electric driving range, enough for everyday around town driving, but when traveling, the onboard generator will allow for 600 km plus total range, and you can just gas it up in minutes while on a road trip.

And what benifit market resarch does, throwing out billion. And still a flop. Might just put the money to into development and ship out as many unit as it possible could. And leave the rest to consumers.
Too many Chinese EV makers. Will this one survive as you’re done making the payments? If not, then what? An electric lump you can’t get parts for and no one will service?
who cares if it last 5 years if the car cost 22k. Same spec electric SUV in Australia cost 80-100k in Aus. I can have 4 for the cost of 1 western car. You think range rover or BMW will last 20 years?
Now I understand why US is so afraid of China's EVs
Yep! when they can't compete they ban! That's to protect the billionaires and wall street fat cats in the expense of the average people's livelihood.
The time to be afraid was 10- 15 years ago.
Now? China (and Tesla) has WON.
