    Excellent tips for using keyboard shortcuts Gord! I forgot about the control + 7 and control + 8. That was a good reminder. :-)

    A list of keyboard shortcuts would be cool. Something Techsmith should provide.

      Hey VoiceDrew, there is a complete list posted here by TechSmith: support.techsmith.com/hc/en-us/articles/360003425731-Camtasia-2018-Hotkeys . In this "basics" video, I covered many that are commonly used for timeline navigation and some other basic editing functions. There is more coverage to come on Hotkeys in future videos!

    Great video Gord, thank you! Do you have a recommended webcam by chance? I see that Camtasia doesn't support 1080p & 30FPS webcams and I REALLY don't want to have a separate video that I have to pull together... Any recommendations?

      Hi Kyle, I have two Logitech webcams - the c920 and the Brio 4k. I find there's nothing more reliable than my c920 but there are newer versions in the series (e.g. c922). I bought the 4k version so that I could frame a certain shot and then be able to zoom in when editing and lose less resolution than I would with the C920. The picture from the 4k is also very crisp and works a little better in different lighting conditons. I think you need to also consider the budget as the 4K Brio camera is much more expensive.

      @@GordIsman Thanks Gord! I picked up the 922, excited to see it in action.

    Hi Gord, learning a lot from your channel, thank you! I have a question if you could assist me, I am producing content for learners to view on their mobile phones, mostly android but some will be on an iPhone from time to time. What dimensions would you recommend for the video output size in a case like this? And also, does the canvass size need to be the same size as the output size? I’d be most grateful if you could answer this for me. Regards Deon from South Africa

    • @GordIsman
      @GordIsman  5 років тому

      Hi Deon, my apologies for this late reply. I would stick with a 16:9 aspect ratio. You could do in 1920 x 1080 or 1280 x 720 - in Camtasia. I'm assuming that the output is for access via UA-cam (or some similar online source for the content)... Consider that UA-cam does it's own compression and you can downgrade view quality inside youtube - so, it's all optimized server-side. I don't think you should aim to go much smaller. 1280 x 720 is considered HD level.

    Nice tutorial. Shift + Scroll Wheel UP or Shift + Scroll Wheel Down will not scroll the timeline to left or right in Camtasia 2021 :(
    What could I do?

    • @GordIsman
      @GordIsman  3 роки тому

      I can do it with no problem, in Camtasia 2021. Note, you will need your timeline width to be visually greater than the width of your display so that there is something to scroll. If you are trying to do the scroll where everything currently fits in the width of your display then you won't see anything happen. I hope that helps!

    How do you go to a specific time in the timeline? For instance go to 03:45
