I’m just starting to try and learn the basics and this was a great video! The last gradient chart kinda spun me out but the rest was dope. Yes please do a contrast video!
Scopes are King, understanding them is crucial! I had a big client that loves the image that their macpro/iphone screens show...Explaining to them why its different doesn't work, brought them to the studio (where I too have the same Sony OLED for grading), being able to bring them in to help "show" them the actual result of what things will look like across all platforms really helped finalize the deal.
Super useful video, Qazi! There was nuance that I hadn’t picked up before (particularly around the vectorscope). Thanks, mate! …and another vote for a deep dive on contrast! 😊
Thank you, Qazi! Another great video as always! It would be amazing if in your next video you could dive deeper into the topic of contrast. I often encounter issues where different clips have varying levels of contrast. Typically, I correct this by eye, but is there a better method to revise this?
Very helpful video ..props to you, sir. Most college professors have a hard time teaching kindergarten. You did an excellent job breaking it down… Thank you!
The point that is both good and bad for the colorist is, that in the end there is no way for you to control it entirely. Different brands settins, age of the displays and so on will always affect the footage.
Ah, nice! Thanks for the shout-out. :) But I was wondering, once you've finished the job, what would be the best preset to export your footage for cinema, television, cell phone, or laptop? Do you need one version for each, or can you find a single preset that works well for most? And for sure do a video on contrast how to make sure it comes out great on all devices
I remember seeing that comment the other day, props to you for engaging with viewers and actually following up with this video. Loving the content
Of course. 🙏🏽
Yes! I would absolutely love a video on contrast! Middle Gray is a subject I'm currently spending a lot of time on.
Coming soon!

Hi! A really cool video. I would love for you to make a video where you correct footage that has damaged visuals or very poor lighting.
