Excellent tutorial, man. I love playing around with assets. I'd picked up a bonus library when I purchased the Camtasia update and at first was rather underwhelmed. Once I gave it a shot, I discovered it was WAAAAAAAAY better than I ever thought. Thanks for pointing out the Mac media assets help section on TechSmith. 5 starts, buddy!
Great information Gord. One quick tip, since you have an image of your logo and channel colors, you don't have to remember the color numbers and type them in. You can use the color eyedrop picker from the color drop down pallet and simply pick the color with your eye dropper from your image. I actually designed a custom color pallet for my my channel colors and complimentary colors. I saved it as an image and I'm constantly using it with the eye dropper. I have a training video on how to do that if you would like to take a peek. This was extremely interesting and useful. I'm going to check my Camtasia library assets to see if I can use any of those to change my current logo sting. I'm so glad we can learn from each other!
Yes Naomi, Eyedropper is easy for sure. I also wanted to show people to be familiar with the hex coding for color. Also, for the eyedropper approach is best to have an image for palette sampling, as you mentioned. If you have no palette to sample, eyedropper can be a bit combersome.
Gord Isman that is very true, which is why I created the color pallet. Trying to get the eye dropper on a specific color in an image that is tiny in scope is a pain. Huge advantage to know the hex or rgb numbers for a logo no matter what a person is doing.
Thanks. This was so helpful. Took me a minute to realize I had to go to Techsmith website to download assets. Then it was easy. Assessing the asset is a GREAT tip. It gave me so many ideas!!
Hey Waqar, I'm not sure I understand the question. Can you give me a time reference in the video and what do you mean by "markers"? I ask because I am not using Camtasia Markers. Perhaps you can give me a little more clarity?
Hi Gord, your videos are just awesome. I am stuck in creating a subscribe and bell icon intro that your video has at 0:32 seconds. Your help would be highly appreciated. Thanks. Shibli
Thanks Alot Michael! tNice tutorials is a great video, I've been looking for an alternative to Logic pro x for a wNice tutorialle now because logic pro x and apple
Thank you for your kind words. Most of my Camtasia videos rank pretty well. I think the level of subscribership will grow as I bring more diversification to the content. I will be doing more video on social video, video marketing and UA-cam as well - this should help. I believe that people that use Camtasia may need help in creating video for social media, video marketing and UA-cam. I wonder if there are any "large" Camtasia focused channels? I think that everything is relative, especially for a smaller niche focus. I'm grateful to be able to serve as I do.
It was made inside of Photoshop. Someone else created those for me, but my logo is not that difficult to create. Unfortunately, at this time, I'm not really doing Photoshop tutorials in the scope of my channel. That said, it's a simple one to make. The font used for my initials is Beetthoven. Tilt the text to the angle you want. Also, make a second copy a little bigger - with white colour and just overlay the darker font letters on top. You will need to play with character spacing to tweak Also, you could just have a single set of initials (i.e. letters) and use the "outer glow" with white colour. Play around and be creative.
Gord, I been trying to have the logo grow with the circle for the last 4 hours and followed your instructions to the tee. The logo doesn't seem to grow as the circle grow. I do have the animation unlocked. Please help. Thanks.
If you are referring to what I am showing at the 8:09 mark, or thereabouts, you need to be sure that when you shrink the logo, you have already clicked on the "begin" keyframe (start point of the animation) so that the tiny shrunken logo is associated to that begin key frame of the animation. The end keyframe - click on there - should have the logo at expanded size. If you are having trouble, move the begin key frame a little away from the beginning of the clip. I hope this helps.
Hi Golden i am not Gord, but i have learned from his videos and the way i made my logo grow was by doing the following. 1- insert the logo, 2- resize it to fit the circle, 3- insert the custom animation, 4- go to the beginning of the effect and use zoom-n-pan effect. in the begining of the effect i used the shrinking value as 1 and at the end i used 54. The zoom-n-pan effect is on the animation panel. I hope this help you.
Hi Gord, I have a video request for you. If you can make a tutorial on how to customize an Outro Video from Camtasia assets, that'll be great. Thanks in advance and I really appreciate your work.
I've seen a few of your videos now. The other stand out one was on making the lower 3rd animations (I looked because Camtasia has so many limitations with not being able to use after effects animations). Blew my mind that I could use Camtasia itself to make some simple yet decent looking animations. Thank you for your videos. Subbing now.
Good job and keep on the good work I would like to ask you about these intros and sound effects in camtasia are they allowed to be used in our UA-cam videos or not ( I mean copyright problems ) plzz answer me as soon as possible
The intros and sound effects that come from within TechSmith libraries are there for you to use in your creations. Some asset elements may require you to have a TechSmith Asset Library memebership.
Gord thanks I made a 5 second intro which took me about 8 hours :) the credit goes to you my friend. Gord, I am wondering I have seen people use annotation tools like the pen or arrows during live presentation using Camtasia, any idea how do they do it? Thanks a million for your help.
I'm so glad you made the effort to get your Intro done! I bet you learned a ton! For annotation basics, here's a great article from Techsmith to get you started: support.techsmith.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000341232-Text-and-Annotations . I hope that helps. I will do videos in this area in time. Thanks for the suggestion.
Hi Gord, thanks for replying back. if you look at 1:36 into the video, you will see shapes markers all spread out, you can see the dots where these callouts and shapes end. When I open my Camtasia, my markers are all cramped and when I try to drag and expand them nothing happens. Thanks for your help. Gord is da man.
Hi Waqar. Here is a quick video to explain what to do: www.screencast.com/t/7rAVbmFsU . This will only be up a short time. It's to help you clarify understanding of ungrouping. Note, there were bugs with this before, but mine works fine. I am running a Windows installation. Let me know if this helped?
You are welcome. Enjoy! Please share any ideas for videos that may help you in video editing, video marketing or UA-cam. Feeback helps me deliver stuff you're looking for!
@@GordIsman Good job and keep on the good work I would like to ask you about these intros and sound effects in camtasia are they allowed to be used in our UA-cam videos or not ( I mean copyright problems ) plzz answer me as soon as possible
Hi James, the first ungroup is done for the "linewipe..." group that gives you the three tracks above the group 'shapes" which only shows after this first ungrouping. You need to ungroup the "Shapes" group in addition to get the full expansion. I hope this helps.
+James Crosbie, if you hover over the "+" sign to the left of the word "Shapes", and then press the right mouse button, yiu should see the " ungroup" option to select. (I know this works for Windows)
Great tutorial, but I am missing something. I followed everything you were showing - but the logo does not grow or spin. The custom transition does not seem to do anything :( -- P.S. - just discovered I could copy and paste from the present animations - I did that and it worked. Tomorrow I will study more to see if I can find out what I was missing :)
Hi Jill, here is the point in the video where I show you how I adjusted the logo size for the "start" keyframe in the animation: ua-cam.com/video/iAHSCWhYV3U/v-deo.html . Note that in the faster motion part here, I scale down the logo to be pretty small and then I position it in the centre. So, as the animation executes, it will grow to the full size - at end keyframe. If it's not clear still, feel free to reach out to me and book a FREE quick consult and I'll help you get clarity: bookme.name/gordisman .
That's great Ege! A suggestion for you... On your Channel home page, I only see one section "Uploads". Why not create a whole bunch of Sections on your home page and assign playlists to them so that you have a nice and full looking Home page?
Yes, I agree with you! It was a tough tutorial to edit down. I'm always working on improving things. This is one of my most popular videos but I will be doing more Intro videos in the future as well.
Thanks Gord! I suggest you always follow a step by step procedure. We follow everything you do, and if you skip just a step, we get lost. This is what happened to me in this tutorial at some point. Another suggestion I have is: always tell everything you are doing. Like this: now I’m doing this, and now this, and now this! If a teacher doesn’t tell everything he is doing, the student can get lost, easy. Thanks very much and congratulations for your wonderful work! I’ll be hear!
I have learned lots of things from your videos. Your tutorials should be on top. Thanks.
Thank you! From your mouth to God's ears!
Thanks Gord. This is exactly what I needed right now. Well done!
Useful, easy to follow, step-by-step guide. Thanks, Gord!
Glad you like it Sandip! Good luck with creating your Intros!
Very nice tutorial just what i was looking for, thanks and much love
5 stars and high five. Lots learned. Not just on Camtasia, also on what makes a good instructional video. -- pace, diction and clarity.
+DevQA, thanks for your kind words! Feel free to suggest other topics here in the comments...

Nice. Thanks a lot actually. It worked, you explained it well.
The only tNice tutorialng I have given my full attention for in my entire life and I then watched it again.
I love this Gord, very creative work you're doing now. Digging in and pushing Camtasia to the max. Great work!
Thank-you Brian G, it was a deep dive for sure. I love the creative tutorials but they sure are a lot of work.
Great video! Thanks for sharing!
Many thanks to Gord Isman
And all his great training on Camtasia. Awesome job thanks so much!

Even though the Mac does some things differently, you have access to those library assets and they are a great quick start for creative adventures.
I just came back to this tutorial to make a bumper for my brother. He's super excited and it seems you may have a new fan in him. 😀👏👌
That's great to hear Dale. Wish your brother great success with his channel!
You are a godsend. Subscribed!
Yoo tnx dude, everything works. I LIKE IT
Thanks for your videos Gord. I'm learning a lot!
Carlos Figueiredo, that's fantastic! Glad to hear.

Gordon. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. This "linewipe" intro does not appear in Techsmith download site...
It looks like it's now called "line wipe"... on the TechSmith Assets page... and it's FREE!
Nice
It's so helpful
You are awesome
This helped a lot thank you
Super! I find the customizing fun, but can also be time consuming because of all the little details.

It only works on laptop? No phone version?
There is no mobile version of Camtasia - only Mac and PC.
Sir does this edit 360 video captured from insta 360 one x
I don't know? Can you share a link so that I can see one of these outputs and check into it?
