No talking, just walking. Exploring the English Countryside. A nice gentle walk to the top of Castle Crag, 1 of 214 of the Lake Districts Wainwrights. It is the smallest of all the Wainwrighst at only 290 Meters. We start the walk from the village of Grange and it is a bit of a scramble getting to the top amongst all the broken slate. The views made it worth it though. A lovely walk, do enjoy.

About Dave's Walks
Hi there, I‘m Dave! I've lived in the English Countryside all my life, and I love it! I enjoy walking, and couldn’t help but notice just how beautiful the UK can be away from the cities. I found myself inspired and decided to get some camera equipment and make some walking videos so I can share my walks of the beautiful countryside with everyone!
I mainly focus on small towns, villages, picturesque landscapes, rolling hills and mountains, forests and canals, all along the coastlines in England, Scotland, Wales, and who knows maybe one day further afar!
I upload every Sunday 11.45am GMT (3.45am PST) (6.45am EST) (5.15pm IST) (9.15pm ACST)

It really does help me so much! Not just coffee but also things like petrol, car maintenance, overnight stays in places, parking tickets, admission and entry fees to places I wouldn’t normally go to, it really does go a long way helping me make content for everyone!

I use the free version of Davinci Resolve 16 to do some really basic editing. Mainly making sure the sky isn't over exposed. It's from Camera straight to UA-cam. No cuts, no fancy business, no talking, just walking.

Wow lovely place 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Amazing ❤️❤️❤️
Greetings from Pacific
It is indeed @kknenglois9185 Greetings from England!
Lovely views there Dave that hill looked steep
What a majestic view on summit of mountain!!!💚
Really wonderful!👍
The Lake district is my favorite part of England. I think I stayed at Prince of Wales Hotel in Grasmere, many years ago.😊Those piles of shale looked a little slippery and dangerous. Glad you made it ok.
😊😊😊👏👏👏
I have a Grasmere video coming up at some point, was a lovely place indeed! The climb wasn't all that treacherous, I scouted the walk a few days prior and decided it wasn't all that risky to film.
@@DavesWalks it looked dangerous. Glad you survived.
Thanks Dave..🇬🇧
Will look forward to the Grasmere video. 😎😎😎😎
We love all your walks! My Mom Celia turns 100 12/4, not too long now til 100. She absolutely loves your walks! She has always wanted to go to England. The way you film, it is like we are right there! Thanks for making my old Mom happy. She has short term memory loss now. Your walks really relax her. Thank you so so much.
That is awesome! I am happy to hear they are helpful to your Mom! Please tell her Dave says Hello! Would that be 12th March or 4th December?
December 4, My Mom will be 100! I’ll tell her hi for you. Thank you!
This is the real heaven.what a great walk .Congratulations for england cricket team victory (T20).Thanks a lot for showing such a beautiful place.love from India.😀😀♥️🌴🌏
Thank you Amit 😀👍
Merci bcp pour cette balade extraodinaire que j'ai partagée vivement avec vous et qui etait apaisante et ispirante. Merci encore une autre fois et bonne continuation.
It was amazing! Thank you for a wonderful walk!
Glad you enjoyed it😃👍
Very beautiful walk....nature sound is so soothing....relaxing video.... 👍👍👍
Thank you🙂
That is the exact word “relaxing”. It is walking and strolling through the beautiful British countryside without getting tired and enjoying the quality of the images. Raúl from Argentina in Patagonia..
Hiking on loose shale up a hill. 😳 You obviously survived, since this video has been posted. But still, you had me on the edge of my seat, Dave.
Me too! I came to the comments to say so!
Waauw.....ini video bagus sekali pemandangannya.
oh my God, so beautiful place
piekne widoki-pozdrawiam z Polski
I do enjoy your walks. we left England in 1964 not having seen these beautiful places in the north and midlands. I do miss the short introductions that you provided when I first discovered your walks - where you started from, the time of year and difficulty. for some reason they don't show any more.
Hi there Muriel, happy to hear you are enjoying the walks. It's odd that you can't see the walk information, as it is all there I have never got rid of it. What device are you using may I ask and is there a 'see more' option?
Amazing Video
Glad you enjoyed it Hafiz Masoud 😀👍
really like your videos.

Rất tuyệt
Wah kamu hebat Dave mendaki gunung yg paling tinggi..makasih Dave tuk vidionya
I kept hearing the hymn Jerusalem in my head. The rocks, the plaque to the men who guard the boarder? If I read it correctly, the view of England’s green and pleasant land. A labour of love on your part.
Just makes it into a Wainwright from memory. You didn’t sound out of breath either😂😂😂
I do like the simplicity of your videos, thanks for sharing.👍
You are right, it is the lowest of all the 214 Wainwrights, It wasn't too bad a climb I handled it ok. Glad you are enjoying the videos!
Lindo amei este lugar ❤soubdo Brasil
1:11:41 a view very much similar to indian crops.
I grew up around here and through a traumatic childhood and at the age of 6 I found solace in this environment.
Amazing! thank you very very much, Dave. Greetings from Holland again. love your trails. So brave and beautiful!
Glad you enjoyed it Maja Greetings from England :)
Beautiful views out there.
Indeed! Loving the channel name Reluctant Fell Runner.. I too would be reluctant to run up Fells.
@@DavesWalks Comedy channel. I've put up a fell running comedy, Jam Butty Boy is the Reluctant Fell Runner. A group of friends. Camo, the ex-squaddie - "Don't go that way... or you'll die!" "He likes to run in the buff. He's always running in the buff." Might give you a giggle or too. A few of my subscribes like to listen in the car on the way to a run or work. Have a good Christmas.
if you like stunning views, treacherous climbing, and holding your breath, this is the video for you! too beautiful. thanks, dave :)
Always a pleasure Hellie! I do enjoy a treacherous climb from time to time 😀👍
@@DavesWalks weirdo.
What can I say, I enjoy the challenge of doing something difficult!
@@DavesWalks ❤️
Love your videos - you give me lots of dog walking inspiration. Do you plan these walks or just check a map as you go? I’m great at getting lost wherever I go 😂
Some of them are very planned, sometimes they are very spontaneous. I don't strictly follow a plan, if I see a path that I like.. the plan goes out the proverbial window 😅 Most of the time it pays of though.
🇧🇷☕🌻🌻🌻☕☕good morning from Brazil for England. Beautiful video and place. Beautiful trees. Fantastic.
Не тронутая природа,какая Благодать.!
Согласовано!
Staying in shape Dave! Good man. Would you call them hills or mountains or something else?
good question, I don't really know when a hill becomes a mountain, I guess it may come down to personal preference , Id say this was a small mountain.
And now I understand the Vaughan Williams ' s music...The Lark Ascending or Pastoral S.
❤❤❤
Pictures speak a thousand words, not to mention such videos. Absolutely brilliant. ♥️♥️💚💚
thanks for checking. alas, the description is still missing - probably because I haven't bought their new, improved service.
What device do you use to watch my walks?
You hit all of my favorite types of places in this one Dave. Excellent job as always.
Thanks 👍
Where is James Herriot when he is needed?? :-)
if it is possible, could you please upload in HDR?
Not currently possible for me, When/if I am able to one day though, I certainly will
Goooood from iraq
👌😍😍😍😍😍😍❤️❤️
Beautiful countryside
Challenging trip but got a beautiful view of nature and landscape.. I love watching it..
Glad you enjoyed it! It was definitely worth the climb!
i want to live there
Lovely walk in a lovely place in a lovely British weather 💖 don't stop taking us with you through this wonderful country! Thanks 🙏
My pleasure 😊
Super beautiful. Thank you
What a beautiful walk Dave, you make me so envious of the gorgeous landscape you have in Britain. Loved every minute of it. 🥰
Glad you enjoyed it Maria 😊
I watched this video listening to medieval English music _ua-cam.com/video/DEeAN471boQ_/v-deo.html_._ On the other hand, I think Jethro Tull must be great too.
You know, that adds a wonderful vibe to the walk. Thanks for sharing. I enjoy hearing the music people enjoy with my walks.
WOW! WOW! WOW! Hair raising to watch! Magnificent views and kudos to you for making this treacherous climb and filming it for us!
Another brilliant walk. So calming and relaxing.
Glad you enjoyed it😊
Wow... My best friend, Made an excellent video. I really liked it. Beauty is extraordinary. Thank you very much for the video.
Very beautiful images from nature!
Thank you Dave.😊
You are very welcome Sinrosa
Stunning views and lovely walk on this trail! I love these walks through the English countryside. So glad I found your channel. I have wanted to travel to Britain and walk the many trails there, but it is not likely to happen so these virtual hikes are fabulous! Thanks so much for sharing your walks and giving us the opportunity to experience the trails virtually. I make my own videos of trails I hike in Ontario, Canada which my mom enjoys very much. She is home-bound with health issues. I have shared your channel with her too so she can enjoy walks in England. We both love the stone cottages and scenic villages of England. Thanks again!
Great to hear you are both enjoying the walks! Wonderful to hear!
I didn't think the UK could be this beautiful
Almost 20 million people visit the Lake District each year now. It has also gained World Heritage Status fairly recently...... If you watched all of the video, it's what you *don't* hear that brings many people to the Lakes.......
8:30 A lame Herdwick....?
Ah, it would seem so, I know near nothing about animals, Id like to hope it can/has recovered
Meu Deus sssss, como é alto!! Que angústia. Tenho medo de lugares altos! Você foi corajoso!! Obrigado ❤️
Amazing topography!
Certainly is Jack, the topography of the whole Lake District is really something!
From Deb in USA…I’m a new subscriber. Raised in the Air Force, my family was stationed in England for 3 years in the 60s in the Gloustershire/ Cotswold area. Britain is a bottomless pool of things to see and we did our best from Lands End to John O’Groats. But we never made it to the famous Lake District, so I was delighted to see this. I love love your channel. Thanks for letting me walk down memory lane, like with the Bibury video. I could just picture my family walking there years ago.
Fab! I enjoyed every moment. The steep scree like sections looked very dangerous.
I think it looked worse than it was in person, I felt comfortably in control getting to the top.
Thanks Dave great photography brings back happy memories for my wife and I just like we were doing the walk.
Glad you both enjoyed it😃👍
Thanks for all video you have made ❤️❤️
My pleasure, it is a joy to make them.😊
Views I never managed. It takes guts to surmount shale. I recognised the first part of the walk and then I couldn’t believe my eyes, you were choosing the hardest routes, the most stunning route. Thank you Dave. 🌻
like coming paradise***. Be happy, even rapture could happen ***
How I loved to watch this walk again! I followed exacly the same path in 2009 and have remembered it quite well, because of its beauty. I am so delighted to see nothing has changed since then. Thanks for showing us this! 🤩
Glad you enjoyed it Ernesto the Third!
Nice video
Thanks
Climbed it yesterday, stunning 360 views
nice video, love from Bangladesh
Is the countryside cheap compared to the city?
Hmm that's really hard to say. It fluctuates wildly, Some parts of the countryside are hugely expensive, while some very cheap. Its fair to say prices rise with the demand, The more desirable the area, the higher the cost.
Jeez, I’ve been watching so many walks this Summer and somehow all of yours keep standing out! You’ve helped me with a bucket list for the next time I visit your outstandingly beautiful country. Thank you so very much - you seem to know exactly how to film, walk the villages, maintain “real” sounds, and generate interest. So yes - “jeez” in the best exclamatory way! I hope your viewers continue to grow.
Great to hear!
Lindo vídeo, e interessante !! Natureza belíssima!!❤👏👏👏🤩🤩🇧🇷
A vísta é lindíssima!!
hi, i plan to buy freewel filter on amazon from your link, don't know the video you shot using ND? thanks
All videos are shot with the filters, The brighter the day the stronger ND I use. I think it makes a massive difference when editing. Particularly with the sky.
@@DavesWalks thanks
I love your videos! I play them all the time in the background on my tv while I’m doing my school work.
Happy to hear it!
Brilliant. Now only 213 more to go. If you will forgive me for mentioning another UA-camr, Black Crag is ambitiously planning to climb them all based on the Wainwright books.
It is indeed quite the feat to climb them all, I know a few people whom have conquered them all. I reckon I've done around 10 ish. Helvellyn is on the top of my filming wish list via striding edge.
@@DavesWalks Striding Edge would be a dream .. maybe if I ever do the Coast to Coast.
😍😍😍😍😍❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Good
Очень, очень очень!
Fantastic views, thank you
Glad you enjoyed it Darren!

😊
Are there shops near by?
Yes :)
Why don't people say hello?
A fair few people do say hello, as my mic is direction it doesn't pick it up 90% of the time. I also am focusing on my camera so never really establish eye contact with most people, I think they are being respectful to the fact I am concentrating on filming :)
Makes sense. Thanks for the great videos. I really need to visit your beautiful country.@@DavesWalks
