Yeah this one was a bit of a surprise to film as I hadn't scouted it out first! I knew there was stepping stones along the way, but there was quite the bit of scrambling too which I wasn't expecting, was quite tricky holding the camera steady on the slippery rocks!
@@DavesWalks - I really appreciate the effort you put into bringing these for us. It is something to look forward to every week, because you're essentially giving us a look and exploration, into places we would typically not have access to. Thanks mate.
Very nice walk, but often dangerous!!. I had never seen so many risks of falling, dangers. In some places, walking and filming at the same time was a feat!!. We ended up feeling trapped too and when Dave turned back, I wondered if he was going to find a way out!!. A wild but very beautiful place. Thanks Dave. 😀😀😀😀😀
That was a very nice walk, but when you walked on that wooden bridge 🌉 that had one log across it, I gasps I thought that log was going to collapse!!! You're a brave soul!!! Some of those paths were sheer rocks!!!!
a relative from YOrkshire got a baby vole given her by her father whom was a gardener. and she raised it to go back to the wild...she said most people thought him ugly, but as raising it, she thought he was adorable.
Lovely video, thanks for sharing. Particular interest to me as I had walked along Chee Dale, Miller's Dale and Cressbrook Dale some 30 years ago in march of 1991. It was nice to compare the stills that I took. The trees have come on well, especially those clinging to the cliffs. But strike those stepping stones have come on a bundle, they were all sizes and shapes those years ago. All the Best, Peter.
This is your best ramble yet. Thanks for the dedication putting this one together. Appreciated. I have gorged myself, (pun intended), on the sights and sounds of this beautifully rugged river trail. Dave, you must be part old hairy mountain goat. That's not a bad effort, holding the camera steady, as you scramble over narrow rocky bits! And just as you think you have gotten away from the madding crowds, some other ramblers appear. Ha ha. It's nice to see that not only the youngsters get out and about too. Dave sees stepping stones in river. Holy F&*%! Negotiate rocks and just keep filming. Banzai!, (slowly and vewwy carefully). Only a 3 out of 5 for difficulty??? What rates as a 5 then?
I had no idea it was going to be quite as scrambely as it was! It was a very much a blind walk in that I'd never done it before! Haha and once I had started filming I was quite committed! The camera does a great job at keeping the footage steady, I am most definitely not part mountain goat! I reckon full on climbing mountains will get me some solid 5/5s for difficulty, I hope to do striding edge one day in the Lake district! That, and conquer some of the UKs tallest mountains too!
A good camera, a steady arm, plan your route ahead of filming, think of things like time of day, position of the sun, how strong the wind is, is it busy? stuff like that.. Good luck! 😊
It's mostly normal that we don't put rubbish into our rivers. Although we are certainly not perfect at it. We have many brilliant volunteers though who tirelessly tidy up after ignorant messy people.
Great job trips are wonderful David love places visited some in. Areas I and the family walked when I was at home before going to Leeds’s University 1973 to 76 then Coventry Universeity Ty to do management department with further in Nottingham to do change in the the Church of England
ah night videos are so much more trickier to film.. this is not one I would enjoy doing at night, id end up falling in the river..😅 I may attempt a some night walks in Winter when it's darker much earlier..
What a stunning video for your 70th walk! 🏞️💚 This my favourite place by some distance, just perfect 👍
Glad you enjoyed it Isaac!!😊😊

Hey Dave, Sie gehen genau den Weg, den ich früher gegangen wäre. Einfach weil das flasht. 😁 Ich genieße "unsere" Spazierwege 😊😀Liebe Grüße von Helga
I really enjoy these riverside walks. There is a sense of adventure as well as serenity in them. Well done Dave.

@@OneRedFeatherStudios. Doubley appreciated, as we're locked down at home with covid here at the moment. At least we can ramble about virtually.

Now I want to go to Cheedale.
It is well worth it Spencer! 😊
Such a large and clear river, how did the British do that?
It's all just natural. Couldn't tell you when the stepping stones were placed though.

😊
It turns out that the clear river water comes from a spring
I thought there is no forest 🌲🌲🌲 left in 🏴England due to massive urbanization and population explosion.. This is so beautiful❤
There is far more forest in the UK than many would anticipate!
Anybody know how old that low wall is, the one at the beginning? I'm going to look up how those walls are or were made.
I'm afraid I have absolutely no idea how old the wall is. Anywhere between 50 and 500 years maybe?
@@DavesWalks That's what I figured. Leaning toward the 500, I think. I watch your channel all the time. Chrome Hill is my favorite. Thank you.

Feet, inches, yards? I don't understand. I thought you all did nothing but metric.
Yeah UK kinda dabbles in all of them a bit, hasn’t really committed to one yet..
