I get the biggest kick out of Julie's videos. I would love to visit Mapperton some day. Julie and Luke are so cute together, I feel like I know them, as if they were my neighbors .
Amazing and terrific that it took this fabulous American woman to literally bring this house and history back to life and longevity. Well done all - especially Julie and Luke. We adore you. 💪🇨🇦
Happy the damson gin turned out. I hope the Christmas market is a success and brings the community together. Praying the weather holds and does not hinder your plans.
Take the damses and drain them well. Toss them with powered sugar until they stop getting damp spots on them coat with tempered chocolate. That's to your taste then let them sit for a few months! The alcohol will break down the sugar and turn it into an alcohol syrup! Yum!
lol I love the way you're telling Luke to tighten up the gin bottles and hes just waffling on and on lol. How do you stay so calm? (Your facial expressions are priceless lol) You are both so adorable, what a lovely couple you make :) I really like this channel !!
You two are quite a unconventional team. But I am finding that I am learning a great deal about craftsmanship and what did it entails to keep Stone buildings in particular in shape. I'm from Canada where we have very few stone or brick buildings. Most of our historic buildings are still made of wood. So thank you for your entertaining videos and may you be blessed in your continued endeavors!
So glad the gin experiment was a success!! Prayers the wind is gentle for your Christmas Market!! Have a great week and Thank you! Looking forward to the next one.👍
ugh...youtube notifications 30 minutes late...smh. Lol not sure how much of a "fortune" gin soaked damsons will go for.. but great idea! This was such an interesting and educational video! Really enjoyed it as always and looking forward to the Christmas event!
I once had labels made for a vodka and cranberry I homemade for Christmas presents. With computers, you might be able to make your own labels. Might be very easy! I think I am going to have to try your damson Gin recipe. Julie I always love your weekly appearance and I like it when Luke joins too! Thanks!
This is totally a new TV concept, like escape to the Manor House, Netflix, Prime. Have they ever contacted you guys? Global interest for sure 🤩😘😍 we'd lap it up, total entertainment
Beautiful Christmas tree!!!! Great job on the gin, Julie!!! People will love receiving them for gifts! If I make gin drink in future, I'm definitely going to dip them in chocolate! Delicious! Love the Christmas tree and your sweater! Great job Stephen and Claire!!!!! Amazing Charlotte! Wonderful ideas!
LOVE all the elements of today's story and looking forward to the Christmas market. If the winds are too gusty maybe you can set up.the stalls inside one of the barns or outbuildings and have the food in the yoga room. Good luck!
I know this was 3 months ago I’m just getting to view it and I have to say I love the cottage so quaint on the outside I’ll bet it’s gorgeous on the inside. I love your tree and the sweater is beautiful as well.
Very much inspired to try and make some mustang grape gin, this coming fall, after watching your video. Such an enjoyable video! Thank you for sharing your lives, very appreciative. 🌸🌿💕
Julie your husband is adorable Knowledgeable & so darn cute Luke's quiet English sense of humor is also very entertaining. You two together make such a lovely couple 🇺🇸 New viewer I wish I could taste your homemade mulled🍷 wine. It's gorgeous deep red color is very appealing🍷 What is it called?
That is the greatest sweater and I thought that before you said about princess Diana this is absolutely have fun episode sending love to you and yours from Orlando Florida
You’d lose your mind in my family then - imagine your mom having 7 siblings and their spouses, and 26 grandchildren plus the grandparents and everyone is talking at once - always. This is how I grew up, and my 3 siblings and I have kept the tradition of all of us talking over each other. Seems rather normal to me. *and Luke is hilarious - always has clever commentary whilst Julie is going on. Love it.
Interesting introduction of the question of alcohol consumption. I tell people now that I stopped alcoholic consumption when it stopped doing for me what it did years ago. It keeps people guessing what was the absolute reason for the stoppage. They may take a leap and ask if the reason was that I may be an alcoholic? As I tell people, you can ask any question but that dos not mean I have to answer. I feel that if a person has respect for you and they do ask a sensitive question I explain to them if there are any extenuating circumstances that might upset me. Personally, very little in friendship would upset me but it might be interesting to learn. In my younger days my alcohol was a de-stressing mechanism that I could afford and enjoy. Not now on both counts. I hope Luck has similar reason rather than deathly of little choice.
Julie, I found it interesting you mentioned princess diana because I had a crigenetics test done & found out I am related to her! It was through the great, great, great grandmothers. Theodore Forbes married Eliza Newark/Kework/Kevork & she was armenian & indian, bengali, punjabi & gujerati. Theodore Forbes was enroute back to Scotland, his hometown w/his two children Katherine who was 8 years old & Alexander who was six years old. He died on the ship & was buried at sea. His children were taken to his family & Katherine stayed there, but Alexander was so homesick that they sent him back to his mother in India. The name of the ship was the Blenden Hall. Thank you for the video, enjoyed it!
Hi Julie, I am new to your channel and I love it. I hope you still teaching yoga. If so my friends and I are looking for the yoga weekend retreat but we’re prefer in the country, perhaps in Mapperton? Or anywhere you think it’s better. Would you like to consider it please? Thank you 🙏🏻
I am always curious about where things are in your kitchen. Lots of things seem to be stored way back behind the cookers. Surely that is not very safe and hard to reach?
Julie brought the damson Gin through the door from the larder - which is a large cool room that first originated in midievil times (which aligns with the date the original part of Mapperton estate was built). Larders were specifically made to enable extended storage of food/epicurean delights - and were quite fashionable - especially in England, up through the 1940's. They're still in use in many historical European homes today. (Julie actually calls it a larder at 1:35). Hope that helps.
wow !!! you need a good canadian to translate american to british, hahahahhahaha send me a ticket if you need a canuk to do so, lol. i also need to visit la lond and basmaignee and sort them out as well. you guys are sooo funny at times its like watching an old time comedy, " what ?! herd of sheep?! yes ive heard of sheep........... " i'd like to sort out my family tree also, both my parents sides, being old english and old french ( +/- 1700's - 1900's ) keep up the good work !
I wanted to hear more about the glass Julie was talking about and Luke kept interrupting, it was so annoying!! I don’t like gin but I would like to try theirs!
Hi Julie, I love your spirit and have been watching this right from the beginning. Way back from when you used to appear on the Real Housewives series and wanted to a business idea for Mapperton. loved your tuscany series. But lately, have found you do a couple of things which is very dissonant. Not often, but sometimes. You either talk over Luke, brush him off or make some kind of comment which is dissonant. It makes for uncomfortable viewing. It isn't the famous understated British humor. Perhaps it is because you and Luke are so comfortable together, that you both dont realize how it comes across. Again, dont know whether this is scripted and how the videos are supposed to be. Apologies if that is the case. But sometimes, I would like to hear what Luke is saying. In the gin episode for example, I was fascinated and curious about the people he was counting off who would get a gin bottle, when you were talking about your plans for renovating the old milk shed or a couple of other episodes. Love the series and do not miss a single episode.
Why can’t Luke engage in the lovely gin? Is he like my hubby and he is either type diabetic, or is it a wonderful personal preference? I really want to p]be a Patreon… I’m going to adjust and adjust… being a girl from the the outskirts of Chicago I feel like I just have to! 🥰
Too much on Julie's honestly. If poor Luke spoke over her in the above video, it's because he can't get a word in edgewise. It's not that she just talks too much, often repeating herself, she get annoying .
BRILLIANT idea of dipping them in chocolate. Love this idea
I thought so too!
Literally laughed out loud when Julie is trying to get Luke to seal the gin bottles. Love this couple so much!
You two are HILARIOUS!!!!! Thank you for the laughs 😊
They really are! She puts him in his place.
I get the biggest kick out of Julie's videos. I would love to visit Mapperton some day. Julie and Luke are so cute together, I feel like I know them, as if they were my neighbors .

Poor Claire! She might need a cuppa and a good lie down after that interview with Luke, going into the details of Josh the Ram's love life! 🐏💕
Beautiful tree. This episode made me happy. Thanks.
Happy the damson gin turned out. I hope the Christmas market is a success and brings the community together. Praying the weather holds and does not hinder your plans.
Thank you! The weather did hold and it was a great day.
Beautiful Jacobs! Lovely fleece.
I am old enough to be your mother, but Luke is adorable. The two of you are so funny.
Alot of work at Mapperton. Small staff.Beautiful sheep.Cute and chunky.
Take the damses and drain them well. Toss them with powered sugar until they stop getting damp spots on them coat with tempered chocolate. That's to your taste then let them sit for a few months! The alcohol will break down the sugar and turn it into an alcohol syrup! Yum!
The left over damsons also make the BEST damson crumble.
Good to hear that your drink turned out well.
We are lined up and ready for the adventure!
Love to you and your family.
Julie, you make difficult tasks easier. I will play your joyfilled adventures as I pack up my parents beloved treasures, and bring them to my home.

Julie, your motioning to Luke to tighten the stopper for the bottle of gin is delightful.
I love the way they keep talking over each other xxx

The tree was indeed perfect and loved the animals, the damson gin sounds very Christmasy.

🇺🇸 New viewer I wish I could taste your homemade mulled🍷 wine.
It's gorgeous deep red color is very appealing🍷 What is it called?
Luke should take the British DNA test to see if he descends from that fellow they found in the cave? He may be more British than Charley?
As always entertaining and informative!❤️
That is the greatest sweater and I thought that before you said about princess Diana this is absolutely have fun episode sending love to you and yours from Orlando Florida
Wonderful!!!
Stephen the pre taster,
If he survived all is safe to drink 😅
I love you guys but my blood pressure is through the roof with y'all talking over each other. 🤣

The sheep are beautiful! As a vegetarian, though, it pains me to think that some of them are destined for the dinner plate.
The realistic if some didn't turn into food there would be less of them and other breeds of farm animal. It is the xem5for them that keeps them going.
❤️❤️❤️ Love the jumper. Where did you get it from. I’m also a black sheep. Haha 🎄
So informative listening to Luke julies gin looked good x
Thoroughly enjoy vlog. Thanks. 👍🏻🇬🇧
Lmao at keeping sheep because they look nice on the hill. I can't 😂
Those sheep are beautiful 🐑

Merry Christmas to all !!☃️
I’m grieving that Luke can’t drink on these holidays, but it’s assuredly for the best - Christmas has many other joys💛🌈🌞🎄
@@pjgreen1786 - too strong a word?🤔
13:40 Josh's own version of the Scarlet Letter.
Ha! Ha! My first attempt to make wine from my wee vineyard was a complete failure as well. But keep trying!!!
Love the sweater
The talking going on in the background. He doesn’t even breathe. My husband was like that and talked continuously for 38 years.
I realize this is a 2 year old vlog but I was thinking, if you did this again, you could put a Mapperton label/sticker on them.
Is a Count & an Earl, the same thing in England?
Is anyone besides me addicted to Mapperton and family ?🐏
Steven is so cute ! ❤
I have never heard of a Damson, now on a mission
wish I could come to the xmas fair x

Instead of sending the Ram Lambs to market can't they be used for their wool?

You guys are like royal hippies
Steven is cuuute
Is there a Mapperton map? If so, where could I buy it?

Listening to the English carefully discuss sheep reproduction was entertaining.
An entrepreneur extraordinare
Why is everyone so shocked that the beverage tastes so good😮. I love damson gin but I can’t drink alcohol anymore 😢
You call pullover sweaters jumpers?
Yep! Sweaters are jumpers.
To fill the wall, use a grouting iron and not a knife. 😉
Maybe a sugestion to give this man one as a christmass present .
Wraped in paper with a lint.
Darren is re-pointing not grouting and he has found over the years that a knife is the best tool!
Glad the gin was not bad despite the fact I don’t drink alcohol!
Damson gin is delicious, you’re missing out 😊
Im alcohol free for 9 years now. Best decision I ever made.
❤️
I wanted to hear more about the glass Julie was talking about and Luke kept interrupting, it was so annoying!! I don’t like gin but I would like to try theirs!
Julie, I can't believe you have forgotten what a sweater was? A jumper, you have been gone too long.

Had no idea there were that many British euphemisms for sex.
No thank you on the damsens.
Luke talks a LOT!
Next in, a sars covid spread by Christmas trees

Sometimes I find Luke a little bit annoying. He talks too much, talk over Julie.
I find the opposite !! 😂
Im sure that gin will end up in the garbage!!! you guys are so cheap.
What a nasty comment. Made just for the sake of being a total shit.
