In a real match you'll want to implement ways to bait a g&w upb with, for example, a safe move on shield that he cant upb! Almost all characters can do Short hop retreating aerials and not get hit by an upb! if it happens to Maister(which it does) it can be done to most g&w players!
Hey there! There's no denying some characters simply have a harder time punishing him. Mario and Pikachu for example have a rough time punishing normal UpB. But hey at least they aren't Steve! If you suck at punishing him try your best to bait his down air! If he upb's from ground level he will hit the ground and suffer landing lag. If you cant outrange dair from underneath use shields or punish from the side!
poor steve :( idek if even NIL up smash could punish it and its usually our quickest punish option for people way above us being able to shark top plat but if g&w up b goes beyond top plat then yea steves screwed
Videos like these are super helpful and useful, and I'm glad they exist. It's especially for characters that struggle against G&W, such as Fox, Falco, Pikachu, Pichu, Peach, Captain Falcon, Ness, R.O.B., etc.

This is pretty good. I better be on the lookout for these punishes whenever I play gnw lol. Though I don’t always down air after it. Anyways the video was good so keep it up.
Airdodge can't be buffered and at best it would be frame 10 while down air is frame 12. Realistically though it would be slower than frame 10. I kept airdodge into account in my testing!
If he is hit before his down air comes out you would've hit him before his airdodge came out. There's a 7 frame delay when doing "drop parachute -> airdodge". There's no delay when doing an attack while in parachute.

His double jump is too slow. But Sora's Upair should still give g&w some trouble since g&w does have to land
It's really sad that Ness, Mewtwo and Lucas all can't punish Mr. Game & Watch's Fire due to their double jumps not being fast enough 😭
